I'm working on uploading my food porn, it's pretty disappointing, and this computer is S - L - O - W. I got two of four pics uploaded working on the other two.

I hope the computer guy can fix it. He hasn't failed us before so crossing fingers. Glad you have another working computer. We have three back up lap tops, but one doesn't have Office on it only Works. This one is slow and annoying. The other one is XP and one of the shift keys fell off. If our property sale goes through, I'm getting a new computer along with the cruise.

Next time I'm in Carmel/Monterey, I want to stay at Mission Ranch. Have you ever stayed there? Wonder if you ever bump into Clint there?

No , we have never stayed there. You could run into him. He also owns Pebble Beach. This guy is really rich.

So the other night when you all were speculating about how my ham turned to bacon, this is how it came out. This was last night before she sliced it, but I thought it turned out well with a little caramelization on the fat.

So if I didn't explain the menu. Fran cut up all the veggies for a green salad, which we added to a few bags of lettuce mix, spinach leaves and she chopped up a head of romaine lettuce.

I cooked the two hams with her glaze recipe and she cut them into slices. She peeled the potatoes and I sliced them and then cooked them in scallopped potatoes. I can't remember what you called them Down Under PIO, but you make them too. Dauphinese?

Then we bought cakes at Costco and Ralphs. Connie (a band member) made deviled eggs and a Chocolate Sheet Cake.

I told these people, "Stop! Let me get a picture!" But they were like animals and told me "no way!" So you have hands and plates in all the pictures.

YUM! That ham looks like fantastic as suckling pig to me...;)

And you're right. Potato dauphinoise...is the same as scalloped.
 
I didn't even get a chance to take the foil off the ham, but each of those foiled plates had a 10lb ham on it. Each of the potatoes was 3.5 lbs or 1.5 kg. I had a 10 lb bag and should have made a 3rd dish, but I was just too tired. They would have eaten it all. People were coming back and scraping the sides of the potato dishes.

I forgot that I also took 6 bags of frozen veggies, 3 beans, pearl onions, chopped broccoli and corn and made that into a side dish.

We have a small amount of salad and about 8-10 slices of ham left.

Unfortunately I'm gonna have to. Until that other guy showed up, I had been doing them for about 7-8 years. I was thrilled for someone else to do it. He stepped down as President and Fran resumed her duty as President and with that we're sort of obligated. You know, if you want a job done right, do it yourself.

We can't do potluck because the food has to be ready as soon as break starts. There can't be a line at the microwave, so it has to be done by a "professional".

I'm going to attempt some baking cupcakes....completely from scratch

Don't get me wrong. I'm a decent cook at especially making roast meat and veg.....and getting better with stuff (It's just such a shame my gran was lost to dementia before I was paying enough attention)

Just...I don't have access to a good kitchen or ideal environment for setting the stuff up.

I normally get decent quality cake mixes to which I'll toss a few extra things (and I have a back up plan). But I dared to mention I was planning to do this and DBF told me off :blush: and sent me to a few websites...

What could possibly go wrong... :eek:

They closed down the AKL thread Sunday morning last weekend. The last post was about drinking on St. paddy's Day! :lmao:
