Considering where they lived in the US, NZ and stayed in LV, I don't think it will be a problem.

I don't know for sure. First it was an idea and about 6 weeks ago they got thier tickets. While planning she kept saying he was really busy studying for an exam of some sort. I now wonder if this is because he was not studying but planning his proposal. They got engaged a week or so ago, and suddenly he started emailing me again.

A trip out of the blue? They live in Australia?

I will do some sight seeing before I arrive:thumbsup2

Thats alot of cooking.

Yeah... Saturday is my friend Ann's birthday party (I'm making the cake tomorrow so I don't have to rush it), the soda bread is for Saturday, and the cupcakes and one loaf of soda bread are for a party I'm going to on Sunday.

:wizard:

I wish I was planning a vacation :( I'm planning two pseudo ones, but that's about it. One is for this weekend long party in May (it's out of town) and the other is for a friend's wedding in July, which I have to go to northern Wisconsin for.

It will all be good:thumbsup2

You know short vacations can be just as much fun as a super long one.We dont get long ones. The longest one we took was 9 days back in 09.

I'm painting my nails green for St Patrick's Day this weekend :)

Going to dip them in the river?

Bacon and tomato:lmao:
No tomato, but considering I have some sour dough bread. It looks tempting to make something similiar.

No they are from South America. They went to NZ to work and couldn't get thier work permits extended. Fortunately they fly through LA to back. So they extended the layover to see some sites.

A lot of people expect LA to be a wonderful place because of TVs and Movies. They don't know it's not all beach and a giant metropolis.

Ahhhh....explains things a lot. Many people try to get into Australia via NZ.
Hope they enjoy their pit stop...

LA is certainly not anywhere I ever want to live...the smog in Anaheim in September 2000 nearly killed me

Home early which is a nice change. But very tired.
Might come back on later but hello and good night to those here and who'll be sleeping soon... :goodvibes

Good Night Dana and Usnuz if you are there. I'm off to dreamland.

Its hard to really explain about LA. Aot of people think its all LA. Right now , the jobs arent that great, housing is not good either. Just so many things. We want to move from here, but the job situation isnt there for anything right now. I dont know what it is like in South America.

How much homework does he get, meaning is it one or two hours?

The expectation is that they do a MINIMUM of 45 minutes of homework a night AND at least 30 minutes of reading on top of that.

We try to keep the weekends homework free; so DS is probably doing 1 - 1.5 hours a night, 4 days a week. And then there is reading on top of that. Thankfully he likes reading.

I am in a great mood today even though I am currrently alone. DH is at work. DS5 is at preschool, and DS8mos is enjoying a long nap. My husband is taking me on the first date we've had in a long time tonight, so I am excited. The last one was when we were on the ship (in Atlantis), and he took me to see Harry Potter when Connor was about a month old. That means this will be our third date, since Connor was born almost nine months ago.

DS got accepted in the all day kindergarten program at his private school yesterday. He is going for sure as long as we can pay the $1100 plus each month (scary, I know). Cobra will be done by then, so it should work. I was also thinking about going back to work. I do not feel too dizzy, and my headache is only about a four. It is a wonderful day to turn 32.

DS loves public transportation and asked me recently when he gets to take the school bus. I told him he will not get to take it until he goes to Public school. Hope it is not too bad for you Queenie.

Speaking of a lot of homework, the biggest criticism his school gets is that they assign too much (except for preschoolers who get none). I will be enduring that starting next schol year. Their students test over the 90th percentile compared to peers, so they must know what they're doing. He will probably go to public school in first grade, so it will ease up a little.

Hope everyone else is having a great day too. Oh, I took the boys back to the Doctor yesterday. Xander is almost completely better. It will probably just take a couple more days. He said it will take about another week before Connor's fully passes. A year ago today, I had to take Xander in for being so sick. DH had a whole spa day planned for me that had to be cancelled. This day is already off to a much better start than last year.

Happy Belated Birthday! Sounds like a great day and glad that the boys are getting better.

Off to bed! Not well! :(

Look after yourself. You need to be well for St PaDDy's Day (btw - I think you've worked out why we hide here and not out on the CB).

I'm not sure why this is my first time checking in here today. Glad everyone is having a good day so far!

I'm on my way to the grocery store, just got a haircut!

Hope to see a picture??? :confused3

Missing luggage arrived today, the weird part is we had two fish extender hangers for the gift exchange on the ship and only one was in the suitcase.:confused3

Glad that the luggage came home, despite one less fish extender hanger.

I'm doing a chocolate cake for a friend's birthday. Chocolate frosting with purple roses, borders, and writing, as well as chocolate ganache and raspberry puree in the middle :)

School carnival tomorrow. Guess what I'm making tonight? Won't be anywhere near as elaborate as yours. It will be sold for $5 a plate.

I think I might be in and out, depending on how the baking goes.

Good Night Dana and Usnuz if you are there. I'm off to dreamland.

Say hello to the sandman.

Goodnight. This is friday and no PIO?

Friday is a work day for me. But I'm home now and all caught up.
