It's getting late, so I skipped a few pages. Hope everyone is well.
Good evening all.

Meet our new addition we will be picking up on March 28th...isn't she cute? We're using our Alaska airline credit to fly to Portland to pick her up.

Adorable.

I figured that you probably wouldn't get very good answers out of 18-45 month olds! :lmao:

:rotfl2:

I think some of you guys have seen this picture before, but this was Delilah the day we got her:

She was neglected, abused, and underfed. She was afraid of being alone (would literally follow us around the house), afraid of the broom, and the first noise she made was when my dad came home and she saw this strange man who wasn't one of the women who'd been loving on her all day (he was at work when Mom brought her home).

And this is her tonight:

She's laying on the floor next to my bed :)

That is sad. She has pretty eyes. Glad she has you.

We're required to identify ourselves and state that we're calling on behalf of the CDC. If they have legitimacy concerns, we have a phone number, website, and letter we can give them, or they can speak to our supervisors. If they refuse, they go to a refusal converter, which I am not.

I never answer numbers I do not recognize. I figure if it is important, the caller will leave a message. If not, I do not even waste time answering. I hope I have not missed anything important.

Oh I forgot...Delilah looks very well taken care of now.

She could actually stand to lose a few pounds :lmao: She weighs about 125.

Yeah, but she's in a good home now and we're not getting rid of her until it's her time to go :) She's out baby and we love her pug:

I don't, either. Unless I'm expecting a call from a job interview or something, I don't answer calls that don't show up as a name in my phone.

Just another long workday for me, I'm joining the group...is it Friday yet?

I wish. Goodnight Everyone. My friends have a hotel booked, Super 8 on Katella averging $55 a night including a weekend.

We talked about some things to do in there 6.5 days, flying in midday out early morning. They want to shop a lot and with a limited budget, I hope they can eat.

Gosh. I know the NZ dollar is in the toilet But a super 8??

The tropicana has small rooms and can be quite cheap. Just depends on how many people.

Had a bad day. Ugh. Hit my elbow on a hand rail to add to the fun and the pain shot straight to my neck and shoulder. Elbow is fine. Go figure.
Far worse neck pain. Particularly my right shoulder as I use a mouse 90% of the time I'm working.
Tomorrow won't be pretty. :(

Oh and as a bonus. All the trains on my line stopped running in one section a few hours ago so everything is off timetable. Saving grace. At least they're running again. Sigh....

I hope your friends have a great holiday, skiboy. As long as they are happy with the accommodation and it's clean, that's the main thing. I assume that they did look at the options of the Entertainment card and staying at the HoJo as well as all the other hotel/motel accommodations around Disney.

Good night.

I wish I had that luxury! Not only am I the person whose phone number is on the rental signs, but Fran is constantly giving out my number for "free plants on Craigslist" "Some guy who has a Disney painting on eBay for practically nothing" :headache:

You said they were coming to LA, but they're going to Anaheim! That's a lot easier to find cheap safe accommodations than LA. I helped this poor little Aussie QB, and she was pretty clueless, must've lived in a crime free suburb with no worries. She called Hollywood "dodgy" :lmao:

How 'bout "skanky", "seedy"... I hope that the Super 8 works out they are generally clean, no amenities, but a good place to sleep.

Been nice seeing all the puppy doggies given the cat predominance on here.

Hope you have a good trip getting your new doggy ACDSNY :yay:

Bedtime....and I managed to get DS to bed early tonight! :thumbsup2

How was your day, public transport and consultants aside?

In amongst my crappy work day I walked over to the Queen Victoria Building (a city shopping centre that is historic sandstone...very pretty...) because Michael Crawford was there signing copies of his new CD.

The signing started at 12:30 and I was hoping to try and get there then. But crappy work day meant I snuck away from the office and got there about 12:45. Of course I'm not sure how much difference it would have made. But I might have joined the queue if it were a bit shorter.

Apparently word had spread to the community further than I anticipated as every person over 50 seemed to be there. I'm not being rude...I'm not his target audience...the older population is...
BUT...I grew up listening to him thanks to my gran and I am a big fan of his amazing voice.

So...I arrived

and saw the queue...

going out of the store...

looping around half the centre....

and back again...

:faint:

So I settled for going into the store and snapping a crappy iphone pic...
There was just no way I could be waiting in a queue for at least an hour. A new deadline had been dumped on me at about 11am

Hope DS is settling into school well. Lots more homework isn't always bad as long as it is interesting...
Of course it means you're doing more of it ;)

I didn't realise that Crawford was in town. Pity you didn't get that autograph.

DS is loving the new school and there is lots of interesting and varied homework. Thing is...aside from the first fortnight, I'm just pointing him in the direction of references on the www or printing things out for him to read. He's gotta do as much of it as possible first before I'll come and check/help. The exception to this has been in areas where I know he's not yet come across. For example, he's had to work through Persuasive Writing this term. So far, in the first set of homework, he's had to find a piece out of the Opinion or Editorial section of the newspapers - read and then work out the main idea and three supporting facts. In the second set of homework, he's had to find another piece - read, work out the main idea and identify the elements of persuasive writing that the author has used.

He's never had to do anything like this before at the old school and despite me trying to show him in the past, he's never been interested. Amazing what having it set as proper homework does for his motivation.

I thought it had stayed fairly under the radar. I found out in the QVB email newsletter and the only 'advertising' I saw in the building on Monday was a teeny sign in the ABC shop....

Oh well...
I wish I'd stayed actually but anyway...

As for DS. That's great he's managing to do a lot on his own. But it is hard to explain and show what "persuasive" writing is. Even in the 'real' world that's not the common terminology used.
Hope he continues to do well, and I agree...if it ain't homework...it ain't need doing :lmao:
Unless....it's TV watchin' ;)

Might turn in. Hope you get some good rest :)

Might be time to ring the bell. Good night. Have a nice day tomorrow.

We had a cold front come through with heaps of rain (again). At least it's cooler tonight than last night. So, I should be able to get some more sleep.
