Well, I guess DH and DS are done, and they say women take forever:rolleyes1

It always feels good to get up and move:thumbsup2

It was nice to be outside doing something truly recreational.

A bunch of people were out too, a couple other bikes and a lot of dog walkers.

I'm back!!! Tired and missing luggage, I'll be on the phone with Lost and Found tomorrow morning.:sad2:

We had a great time cruising to Mexico, awesome weather too. Came back, didn't notice we were missing one bag until we got to the airport and then when we got home and started to unload another bag we found out it wasn't ours. What a day?:rolleyes1

Alison - I'm sorry to say I didn't find out anything about the tendering as I was trying to keep my DGS from falling into the bay. It was pretty bouncy getting into the tender boats in Cabo.

Now I guess I better go back and get caught up with everyone's posts.

YAY! I am glad your home safe. Can't wait to hear about it. Sorry to hear about your luggage. I hope they find it. We missed you. The webcam was down, I was trying to watch the ship come in this morning. We're at the kings game. I have the iPad.:rolleyes1

It was still dark when we came into port. No major drama all week so that's a major plus when you have 24 people on the same cruise.:thumbsup2

I go by a Sonic often enough, but haven't eaten there in about 5years. I think it is the eating in my car that keeps me away. I should just go inside.

None of our Sonics have "insides". We don't have any close by anyways. What's wrong with eating in the car? I think we have about 50% of our meals in the car! :lmao:

Competitive? Me? No, can't say I've noticed.

DH used to be the photographer in the family. When I first wanted to shoot fireworks, he was *almost* patronising about the fact that I wanted to go with 4 second long exposures. He'd never tried it nor seen pictures (but then he'd never really had the Dis photoboard either).

Since I've been taking the fireworks shots, he's been trying to catch up.

I took photography in the 7-8th grades. It was a special class that you had to "know" ;) someone to get in. We were the yearbook photographers. We developed our own B&W film and learned about F-stops, shutter speeds. While the knowledge is still useful, cameras have some so far, I feel so behind!

Yes, nice day time shots. :thumbsup2

I had a long hard think about my working days when I decided on part time. In the end I figured I would have a long weekend every weekend rather than just waiting for the 7 or 8 public holidays that fall on Monday.

New Year's Day, Anzac Day, Australia Day, Good Friday, Melbourne Cup, Christmas Day. They are pretty random and it's a case of you win some, you lose some.

Sleep well. I'm going to get off the computer soon as well. We're planning on getting into the city early tomorrow and marking out some territory for the parade. They've change the route this year...so I have no idea where to go place my X. We'll see.

So in Australia, can you literally just "place an X" on the spot where you want to hang out and people will honor it? Do that here (US/LA) and it will just get ignored. If you don't have a butt in that seat (or piece of pavement) AND that person has to say. "Hey, the whole blanket is ours" otherwise people will encroach on your territory.

There is a parade in Belmont Shore in Long Beach where people bring lawn chairs and they actually lock them to signs, bike racks, whatever they can to hold them down so that people don't take their seats!

The long beach webcam is down, I cant see ACDSNY ship come in. :sad1:

She would have come into San Pedro anyways. Only Carnival comes into Long Beach

50 should be some what warm for you. I need to go get ready for the game. Have a nice bike ride.

What game? Are you playing something? What about your back? :confused3

Our weather now indicates rain all week. Do I believe that?:lmao:

We don't! (have rain, that is). We are 7 inches behind on rain, and the forecasters don't see us catching up any time in March. We're gonna have a huge drought here this year!

I'm pretty sure it was just a figure of speech marking an X. staking her claim. Choosing a place. Looking around. Etc. Then setting up the tripod.

Usnuz is watching a game. Not partaking.

My back is doing better but I had a creepy strange nightmare dream last night :sad2:
Not good.
So I'm pretty tired.

Oh well. Work trudges on.

Welcome back.

Hope you get your luggage back. That's always my worst nightmare.

Glad you made it home safe, sorry I can't say the same for your luggage!

That's OK, we won't plan any excursions in Cabo and I'll just let her try it herself and come to her own conclusions. I'm pretty sure if it's choppy she won't be able to manage it.

To keep the car clean and it's nice to sit at a table.

That is a lot of missing moisture.

Oh no, I have 40 pages to catch up on...

Don't bother all it has is, LAST :) Last :) LAST :)

So are you missing one, and have one that isn't yours?

I did mark out a spot, 40 minutes before the schedule start of the parade. We walked way way down to get spot at the front of the barricades, near where the VIPs were.

And then some loud and whiney snowflake came along and managed to push her way to the front. She had to get through 3 rows of people; as did her parents who also managed to end up in the front. Her parents were the loud and obnoxious kind as well and seem to think that snowflake deserved special attention.
Somehow, the snowflake ended up next to me and whined about how she couldn't see, didn't want to wait for the parade, wanted to eat, wanted a drink (BTW - what sort of flakes of parents don't bring any snacks or a bottle of water with them but instead complain about how bad the organising is as there is no where for them to buy anything???), didn't want to wait for the parade, too hot in the sun etc. She also wanted to go sit in the VIP area and didn't understand why she couldn't. Those flakes told her that it was for the performers. :sad2:

She had to wait all of 10 minutes before the parade started.

The flake's mother then got mad with me because I was "leaning too far forward and pushing my way and blocking the snowflake's view". She even told me that I didn't need to take photos. She then told me to step back as the parade was for the kids and I shouldn't be in the front.

Well....you can imagine my reaction. But I did ignore her for the better part of 2 minutes; and she kept whinging about how rude some people were and how they were spoiling it for the kids. And would it kill 'some people' if they didn't get any photographs??

At this point, I told her that I was happy to change spots with her child but hadn't volunteered to do so because she had been so rude about it and hadn't asked politely nor nicely (she didn't even say please)!

But you can imagine what happened. As soon as I changed spots with the snowflake, she complained that DS was in her way and that she couldn't see. To which I turned around to the parents and said that it really didn't matter where she stood....she was not going to be able to see over the barricades and unless the parents got everyone to move out of the way, she was never going to be happy.

Well....I ended up having to just switch off from the barrage of abuse that came my way then. :rolleyes1

Is it me? Why do some parents believe that their child deserves special treatment from everyone around them to the point of being rude?
