This Is The Place For You If You Enjoy Being Last...

Hi everyone.

You'd have a NIGHTMARE trying to converse with my DBF. He uses very localised English terms rather than 'Queens English' and it makes quite a few things lost in translation.

Wouldn't it just be easier if everyone spoke American like they are supposed to?

Just watching the end of Tangled on the movie channel...
*sniffle*

Awesome movie!

Dont tell me I havent seen it yet. I dont need to cry

Better plan to see it. Netflix or something.

I never heard it used as plunger. I would hate to see other words used in different countries for various things. We could all be in truouble.

Those Aussies are great at making up words.

I need to lose about 10 pounds real quick. I am looking into a simple detox.

Stop eating, see if you can work the muscles in your arms without agitating your legs and back.

good morning.

Hey, hey! It's Saturday!

Lucky you. I'll be on the weekend boat very soon.

Ok just so everyone understands...I NEVER called nor meant to call anyone stupid. When I saw this...I realised that maybe there had been a lost in translation

That SUCKS

My brother had speech therapy as a kid and I'm sure that there was some private cover on it...but even without it didn't cost ANYTHING like that. Even now I can't imagine her charging that much.

I did not think you were saying that. I agree that the convo was lost in translation. My sister got upset yesterday, because I did not tag her in a Facebook post. I did not mean anything by it, but she did not understand why until I explained it. It happens. You are both nice people as are we, I hope.

Me too. Well, the Doctor says 10. I think I need to lose more. Good luck.

Goodnight.

Just saw this photo posted on facebook of the QM2 departing last night

Beautiful

Heading out for lunch with my Birthday Man..

:bday: to him. Have fun.

It's a PPO and it covers my prescriptions and a portion of office visits. Fran had the same one until she got Medicare. It covered all her surgeries and everything

Well that sucks!

It is good to know that PPOs still exist here. I know less and less people who have them.

Yes, it does.

Good morning all! For me I guess I should learn a few new words from other places. PIO used a word that most of us never heard of. It was Panel beaters. I was like ok, and a few other people were saying the same thing. I looked it up , and come to find out it is and Auto repair person. Just a different perspective. See I was a duh to that one. But I learned something new.

You learn sonething new everyday. Next time DH takes his car to the shop, I will tell him to take it to a panel beater. I will come back and tell you what his response is.

TR update.....Tom, Tom, I cant trust him....

Tom is such a funny chicken.

stop eating? I can work my arms, it is the rest of me:laughing:

I had oatmeal and coffee for breakfast, some pistachios and a diet soda for lunch, and my smart one for my dinner.

Forgot to respond on the speech therapy thing. DS5 is very difficult to understand. The Doctor and Speech therapist deemed his difficulties as developmental, meaning he is not behind. I do not want him to get behind before he gets help, but I cannot afford $150 a visit. I agree with everyone who said it is ridiculous. The worst part is that the ins will not help with one red cent of it. My brother and sister had problems until they were 11 and 12. That may be Xander's fate now.

When we first took DS to the US, I went into a pharmacy near my aunt's place in SoCal. I asked for tissues and I got toilet paper.

Turns out I needed to ask for Kleenex instead. :confused3

Now that's weird, I would think that would be "toilet tissue" and the default would be facial tissue. :confused3

How can you have had dinner already? I'm just considering lunch!

My smart one will be my dinner later. Not now silly:laughing:

Don't come the raw prawn on me.....wacky??? Me???? :scared1:

^^See what I mean, they talk crazy Down Under^^ :rotfl:

That was an odd instance indeed not the norm.

Is it possible to qualify for state assistance? They may have programs to help pay or access therapists.

i have the kitchen to clean. gonna wait till the boys are out this morning before I start that room.

Just checkin' in since it's been awhile!

Queenie - How is your migraine? I never had one start up from my neck. That sounds miserable. Did valium help?

kmedina - I understand about your insurance stuff. We went through that for many, many years until we changed and began to pay much more for insurance but I know you can't really do that. My nephew had speech therapy for many years while in elementary school. If you have a university or college or speech association nearby maybe they have a referral program that can offer some help. I would try that as well as searching online some.

I enjoyed the "dialect/words" discussion over the past few pages. I had figured out that "panel beaters" had something to do with the panels on cars so I was thinking "body repair" but not plungers for coffee. That was a good one! :rotfl2: I still like "boot" for trunk!

Alison - We are kindred spirits, at least in wine! I have always said that other than coffee my only vice is WINE! We go to local wine tastings in the fall and spring and have so much fun and always buy at least 20 bottles. I do have to watch drinking the red though since it sometimes causes a migraine. And my storage is nowhere as nice as yours since it is downstairs in the unfinished part of the basement, near the kitty litter box area (for her inspiration ;)

Princess - That trip is getting closer! I am so looking forward to seeing the pictures, having never seen Disney outside the USA! You must be getting excited!

As for me, I'm scheduling my neck disk replacement surgery (C5-C6) for early May since my thumb is still tingling/numb and neck is painful with limited mobility to the right. Normally, a cervical fusion is done but my surgeon is the area "pro" it seems for disk replacement and it has a shorter recovery, fewer risks, no grafting needed. I've given this herniation almost three months to recover and that's time enough!

And, yes riding all the fast, scary rides at Disney and Universal in December may have been the last stress to my neck problems but I've had them for years!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

LAST!!!
