We have decided to try and rent something else for now. We are going out to look at a few places tomorrow.

It'll do.....for now.... ;)

I was just sitting here thinking about how you said you like structures. does that only mean as in seeing steel frames? Have you ever seen the Winchester Mystery house? There is certainly alot of different structure to the thing. You might like it. I have never seen it myself. Chris wont go, as he has seen it and wasnt impressed. But I like weird stuff.

I have seen a trip report...sort of...about that house. And no it doesn't appeal.

My favourite is Art Deco. And Arts and Crafts - like Greene and Greene.
I appreciate the beauty of Frank Lloyd Wright's buildings but it frustrates me no end how disastrous the actual 'structures' are because he was too arrogant to listen to expert engineers. :headache:

Santiago Calatrava is an engineer and Architect. So he has pulled of some stunning things in his time because he can create an elegant structural solution to things.

I also love Japanese Wooden architecture. They achieve the most amazing joints to create their buildings.

So I do love steel. And I did love the approach to creating that 'hangar' for the museum. But I also love wood and concrete. It IS amazing what can be achieved with a bit of thought...

PIO, I just hope there is plenty of pictures of the grounds of the hotel to compliment the interior shots.

Hope you find something you like. Must be so frustrating dealing with those neighbours all the time.

It's all very complicated with DBF and as expected the closer you get to central London the prices go sky high so you're in a teeny tiny apartment. This is why he rents in Shropshire. But fuel prices and some expensive things going twang in the car. Plus some unexpected taxes and fees associated with the new house he rented...it's been costlier than expected for him to be living there.

BUT...on the flip side he does have a detached (by a few feet :lmao: ) house.
And it's at a rate which is quite fair for the market is struggling. It's just the commute and fees...

:lmao: Funny you should mention this......go look at the recent updates. :thumbsup2
I was about to say :lmao:

It's so GREEN!!!

And you doing that trek back to hotel in 5-7. That's REALLY commando!!!
I do walk fast...but I don't know about that fast.
Of course I was doing it with a bag full of souvenirs on my back :lmao:

:scratchin It really wasn't that far....and I had my camera backpack with me. Maybe I did it under 10 minutes.

I have heard of the horror stories of the taxes and fees over that way. It probably doesnt do it justice, but I remember watching house hunters and they went to france, I thought holy cow those places are so small. And the prices. Does he drive to work? Or take transportation? Does the pay over there equal enough to justify living expenses? Most places here pay the water, sewar, and the trash. Where we are looking there are a few places that are ok price wise. It would mean I have to give up more, but its better to live some where, where I feel comfortable.

You get NOTHING...you pay for all bills. You even pay about $40 a quarter?? For a TV licence. If you have any device that broadcasts tv in a house...you need a licence
He lives in two places at once. A very common thing for shift workers is a 'bolt hole' in London. So he lives part time in the house and part time with the parents. It's all complicated.

I hope you find something you like. Your sanity is more important :thumbsup2

okay. Heading off to go work on the photos and TR.

Cool :cool1:

Dinner time for me
