We've gotten a report that beginning in 2007 the Castle at the MK may actually be available for over night stays. :faint:

All I can tell you is that a reliable source has seen a Disney poster in the area where many of the CMs live with that information on it.

If this is true, well, start saving your pennies. Can you even imagine what a night's lodging at the Castle would run??! :scared1:

I'll update if and when I get any more info.

Who'd you get that info from? I know that there's a small apt in Cindy's Castle, but where would the rooms go?

isn't this like the 'year of a million surprises' or something like that. and one of the surprises is to get to stay in the castle in a special room for a night.
you can find the info on mousesavers

Hi,
Actually i heard this as well, but i don't think you can pay to stay in the castle. Its part of the million dreams come true.Cast members will select familys (not sure how the selections process will work)To stay in the castle for a night.

What I had heard was that the Castle would be opening up for overnight lodging but not for paying guest...it is to be part of a their new promotion I forget what its called, maybe "Make a wish come true" or something like that.

What I understood is that you have to already be a guest at WDW and each day or something the Disney Suits would pick a family to stay in the Castle.

OK, that sounds more like it (pick a family to stay there over night).

Me personally... I'd rather stay at the Tower of Terror. :teeth:

The apartment that was supposed to be in the castle was never finished. There is a break room/dressing room that the characters use. And that's the room they want to turn into a grand regal bed chamber for this promotion. Those that have seen this room really can't believe it - it's gonna take a lot of Disney magic! :wizard:

During the "Year of a Million Dreams" celebration, Disney cast members will award a million dreams -- both large and small, including many "money-can't-buy" experiences -- to guests selected through a random process as part of a unique "Disney Dreams Giveaway" promotion.

The "impossible" includes the creation of over-the-top, overnight experiences for winning guests at both East and West Coast resorts: a royal bedchamber inside Cinderella Castle at Walt Disney World Resort and a Mickey Mouse Penthouse at Disneyland Resort, both expected to be complete by January 2007.

A day of royal treatment will end with a night of enchantment inside Cinderella Castle for a different lucky guest each night. Cinderella's royal bedchamber, now under construction at Magic Kingdom, will allow Disney guests to stay overnight inside the park and enjoy a view shared only by Tinker Bell. The lavishly decorated bedroom will be located in a space originally planned as an in-park apartment for the use of the Disney family.

Is that Smoking or Non.

If is is non-smoking you do have the smoking section right outside the castle toward the back by the mermaid fountain. I wonder if that is where those stairs actually lead to?

Yes, its part of the new promo. However, after they announced it they started to realize that its going to be difficult to pull off. They cant just have guests wandering the park at night. Nor, can they lock someone inside the castle. It's a whole set of problems they some how over looked when dreaming up this great prize. It will be interesting to see what comes of it.

Guess I will just have to get to WDW earlier than planned...like 2007 instead of 2008!

I was JUSt wondering about that. What do they do at night? they can't very well LOCK people up inside the castle at night nor can they leave it open for you to wander around the park. Perhaps Disney will have to hire over-night security to monitor the occupants. they can call them the "Royal-Guard". This way if you need to get to your car/go to the hospital/etc they can have security escort you you. I would also imagine their would need to be a "Royal-Chef" as many folks would want room service. Also, does that over night stay come with park tix? What if you don't have park hoppers (just a plain old one day ticket)?

Basically, it would be a jail-with-magic. There is no way Disney will let you roam the park at night, so they will kind of lock you up in the castle.

While it seemed great at first, after some more thoughts, I don't think I would like that experience.

BTW, at DL, they are redecoating some suite at the DLH for the same purpose...
