I took this photo this evening over one of the ponds in our neighborhood. The sky was gorgeous, but by the time I realized it and grabbed my camera and got outside it was already disappearing. Seems a bit out of focus, I didn't take time to check any settings.....

Nice, I like the color in the water most.

looking at the exif you had a 1/6 shutter speed. Very hard to hand hold. Was it handheld? can you tell I am thinking it is camera shake not missed focus.

I do not see an ISO in the exif, am i already drunk after one beer? or is it not there.

Yes it was hand held. I think I had it on "P" and took no time to check the settings - the color was going away fast.... I had been playing with the camera inside yesterday.....

At least I captured a bit of the beauty! I should Photoshop this one into a watercolor..... then the slight "blur" won't matter too much!

There you go! Making strawberries out of rotten potatos... huh?

It takes all day for that dang sun to get across the sky, but see a nice sunset and try to find a suitable scene for the foreground and you are in a real race.

I just ran outside last night and took these pictures. The sky was awesome. We sure never got sunsets like this in PA.

Excellent photos!! This is one subject that I really enjoy, sunsets/sunrises. Unfortunately time isn't on myside these days. Sunrises are getting later and later and thus when I would have some extra time in the morning to stop it actually to late. During the middle of summer there are a few days a week when I can take some time at 4:30 or 5am. Now sunrise is, photography wise, after 6 and thats to late for me. However, sunsets are getting earlier. Soon enough it will be before the kids bedtime (and my bedtime ;) )

I've definately done some running for sunsets. I got some decent ones way back when on the Cape Cod Canal. Parking area's aren't in the best spots to get a good view of one of the bridges AND the sunset. So I ran about 3/4 of a mile, watching the sun set, hoping I could get to a good spot quick enough. I did get some, the are on film and scanner isn't working right now. One of these days I'll get it up and running. I do want to head back to the canal with my digital and some sunsets at the Bourne Bridge side and sunrises on the Sagamore Bridge side. But you really can't time those things ahead of time.

Anyway, once again, great shots guys!

If I knew it was going to be like that every night I would be set up to take the shot. I was sitting at my desk here at home and noticed the beautiful sky and ran out. It would have been so much better if there hadn't been houses around.
