This Evenings Commotion in the 1300 Loop

If any of you are staying in the 1300 loop I apologize for the ruckus in us getting parked so late.

And thank you to those of you who helped. Especially to Trent from TX who was brave enough to get behind the wheel and park our trailer in such a tight spot.

We are very grateful and mortified. We are not sure if we are now brave enough to put out our Mickey ears and our partially finished Mickey Lamp Post.

Almost two hours to park, this after our GPS misdirected us, tried to take us to the Fort via the cast member entrance, we toured the back roads of Disney, we pulled into the non check in entrance, we are finally settling in although all 3 kids are still wired! Hoping they sleep in tomorrow.

Perhaps we will attempt a trip report this time.

yeah, GPS doesn't work around the fort. Everytime we left it tried to get us to turn on a deadend (leaving the fort it to the right from the over-flow lot) and it kept saying go left; however, kids were at ASMo and without the GPS we would have never found our way there--they have their advantages.

Glad you finally got parked. What do you tow?

We have a 38 foot fifth wheel (Raptor) and the spot they put us in was just about impossible to back into with the curve in the road, the trees and the recycle bins.

But it is a great location!

Glad someone jumped in to help out a fellow camper. Now put it behind you and get into vacation mode! Put out those ears, that partially finished lamp, and HAVE FUN!

We were doing a little baklot tour of the area behind MK last weekend and saw a camper come in back there. I was thinking maybe it was a local who knew a shortcut until they turned across from the TTC on a dead end road that looks like it was intended to go to Wilderness Lodge. Once they turned there we watched them turn the overhead lights on and a map came out. GPS' are really not great. I always check mapquest to see if it's correct.

When we were approaching the MK ticket booth there were buses in the far right lane next to us, thus we missed one of the Fort signs. Our GPS then directed us to the Wilderness Lodge. The CM at the gate told us that happens all the time.. Hope you have a great trip

Yup, we put in the address for Ft. Wilderness and I zoomed way in on our GPS and found that it was by the Wilderness lodge. I then panned the GPS map over to the entrance to Ft Wilderness and saved THAT to my favorites.

I have a NUVI and I think their excellent devices created to get people lost.

You mean you still have the unassembled lamp parts? Now you HAVE to put them out so I can find you!.....and when I do, I'm takin' a pic!

Don't feel too bad about having a total stranger back your camper in for you. Several years ago someone did the same for my parents. It was an awkward fit and a lifelong farmer came over to lend a hand. Aren't campers great! (or rather people who camp.)

Yes, I brought the lamp parts with me! I actually have the head done. Maybe by the time you get here Mickey will be able to stand on his own.
And yes campers are the best people!
