If you got your money back, DVC is the ultimate timeshare.Enjoyed having DVC for a bunch of years but am all nickel and dimed out…just not a good enough value anymore. Got my money back and that’s all she wrote. Later sk8ers.
Quite the turnaround from MayDirect vs resale is always a tough one…I bought resale because it was really cheap and I love AKV Savannah, and now even what I paid for resale is a bad price. But that’s OK because I don’t plan to sell! And the discount isn’t a big deal because cast members almost always give it anyway even with my uncool dvc digital card
But yeah, the one best piece of advice is buy where you want to stay. I want to spend time in AKV (love Jambo, love Kidani) chilling and drinking coffee while watching the Savannah…and while I’ve used my points at SSR/OKW/BC/Poly/BLT/VGF/one of the wilderness ones, can’t remember which haha/probably one or two others I’m forgetting/etc I like AKV best. If you like Polynesian best and can afford it, heck I’d just buy the new offering direct and never look back! You’ll be able to stay elsewhere and you’ll never be disappointed to end up there!
Didn't qualify for MMB?Quite the turnaround from May

Same, since it appears to be a 180 degree about face. Hope all is ok.I'm curious about how the value has changed for you now vs. earlier this year.
I would love to see the post where that gigantic savings is detailed. LOL (tried searching but it did not come up)I saved $357,000 on my 150-point VBR contract
Same, but some benefits are available as a result of lax policy.I bought resale and I'm quite happy with it. Of course, I did research beforehand to know I wouldn't be getting the "direct benefits" so I'm fine with it.
I feel like most of the time they say "do you have any discounts like DVC or annual pass?" which technically you should respond no but regardless the onus should be on Disney to be verifying whether or not people are eligible for discounts. Once Disney cares about it being enforced, they'll train the cast members appropriately.Same, but some benefits are available as a result of lax policy.
If a CM asks if you are entitled to a discount then you should honestly answer "no". However, if they ask if you are a DVC member then you can honestly answer "yes" and show them your DVC Member number in the MDE app. Nothing on that screen indicates your status.
It's not for you to guess whether they are making an error or offering some extra Pixie dust. I assume the latter because that's the way TWDC rolls.
