This can't be right....OKW for price of value by renting points?

I never considered buying vacation points before but I was just using the calculator and, according to the amount of points I would need and what they are selling for, I could stay at the OKW in a studio for about what it would cost me to stay at a value resort. Am I getting this right? The example I'm using is the OKW studio (3nights April 18-21) at 11 points a night for 3 nights would be 33 points at about $10 a point. Someone either set me straight, pinch me, or sell me some points!!!

If you compare to no discounts this is how the numbers work out. Of course there are very few times when there are no discounts though so this makes for not a reasonable comparison for the overall ownership decision. Each person's situation is different but in general DVC works out about the same as a moderate if you go light on the weekends. It's better than the moderates for just weekdays and does not make sense mostly for weekends.

Yup, you calculate it correctly. And there is no tax to pay either. If no discounts are to be had, then it can be a great deal and quite a step up! And that kitchenette comes in handy in a very beautiful resort!

The savings is even greater on larger accommodations.
Example: OKW 3 bdrm GV. October w/no discounts tax included is $ 1,140.00 a night. Using points @ $10.00 per pt. its only $380.00 per night. Thats a savings of over 65%

Wow!!! This is a deal!! I was only planning on staying 3 or 4 nights but if I could have a micro and fridge in my room and make light meals I could save $$ to stay a little longer! I'm heading to the points board!! Tagrel....we are neighbors!! I live right outside downtown..probably a little quieter out your way!!
