Thinking of VBR after 4 night Wonder, opinions?

Trying to decide where to spend a few nights after our Wonder cruise. I've narrowed the choices down to the Hard Rock Hotel, onsite (like the Poly or AKL), the Radisson at the Port or VBR. I am the most concerned about getting to Vero Beach from Port Canaveral. We will be using a towncar service from the airport to the cruise terminal and I was thinking of renting a car from the Avis counter at the Radisson after the cruise and driving to VBR. Anyone have any experience with doing something like this? Thanks in advance!

If you can handle being away from the parks while in FL, VB would be a nice relaxing stop for a few nights. You can rent the car from Avis then drop it off back at the MCO Airport. There would be no extra drop off fee for doing this. It takes about 1:20 from door to door.

We did this last year.
After 4-day Wonder we rented a car in Port Canaveral-I think it was Alamo or Enterprise. There was a shuttle at the port that took us to the car rental agency. We then drove to Vero-maybe an 1hr 20 min.
We did not miss going to the parks. The cruise itself is sooo much Disney, you do NOT feel as if you are skipping anything by not going to the parks. As a matter of fact-the hustle and bustle of the parks would, for me, take away somewhat from that VERY, VERY MAGICAL feeling of the cruise. Vero is a nice way to keep the Magic -and relax at the same time. If you really need the park, drive there for a day.
