Hi! We're thinking of taking the DVC tour on our next trip. Can anybody tell me how that works? We are staying at the VWL. We will have to go over to SSR, right? Do we sign up for a specific time? Do we sign up in advance? Is transportation provided? We are thinking of doing it one morning. Does anybody know how early they start? Also, how long does it usually take? Any info. is appreciated!

You can set up a time at the desk in the Villas. Or you can call the telephone number that you will find in the room. It didn't take us too long the first time we went, but we signed papers at the same time. Took about 2 hours total. Plus they picked us up at the MK and brought us back over to DTD afterwards. The sales office was at OKW for our first purchase.

I am still only considering DVC, and have never taken the tour, but I had to tell you that the baby in your pic is SOOOO adorable!!!! We are in Oklahoma, so not too far!

You can sign up for the tour just about anywhere...the parks have stands, our resort (CBR) had an area with a representative plus tune into the DVC channel at your resort and they'll give you numbers to call. We set up the time we wanted and they picked us up wherever we wanted which happed to be MGM. They escorted us to the BW office for the presentation and a tour of sample rooms. We didn't travel to SSR because it was still under the initial construction. After that we were picked up by the DVC van and taken back to our resort. Just for sitting through the presentation we got meal vouchers for the four of us--very nice!
Good luck! Hope to be welcoming you "home" soon!!

Please be aware...once you take the tour you only have 3 days to purchase if you want to take advantage of the special discounts/offers from DVC.

I believe that you could also call DVC and talk to a Guide now, get the info (if you don't already have it) then schedule a tour, all before actually arriving. We bought SSR sight unseen last fall; when we went to WDW for a week in October, our guide arranged for a van to pick us up at the Polynesian - quite early (8:30AM? 9:00AM?) - take us to the Boardwalk models for a tour, then take us back to the Polynesian.

The tours are at SSR now, and it's fun to see the grande villa. It overlooks Cirque and House of Blues. When my sister went, she got a free lunch out of it, but as a member, all I got was the freedom to look around on my own!;) All in all, I thought it worked out well for both of us.
