Thinking of taking a camelbak to WDW. Has anyone tried this?

I love my camelbak MULE. I wear it biking, to the zoo, and even when I mow the lawn on those 95+ degree weather days.

Holds 100oz of liquid and has a fair amount of cargo. I like the fact that it has several small zipped pockets and many different sized storage areas. I own a older version which as a cargo net on the back. The cargo net on the back is great for holding large jackets and I think it would hold Pal Micky with no issue.

Has anyone taken a camelbak to WDW? How did it work out for you?

Less than 48 hours to our first family WDW trip. My 4 year old twins cant wait!

Just my opinion, but this sounds like overkill to me. There are lots of places to get a drink of water at WDW, you don't have to lug around your own supply with you.

I did this during my first trip. My camelbak is also a backpack, so it was convenient to fill the reservoir as well. It was very convenient for when we were waiting in the outdoors lines!

WDW is not the Gobi Desert, plenty of places to water up. We tend to take as little into the parks to make touring easier. Fountains all over, drinks stands to give free cup of ice water so why tote a pack withwater that going to get warm, you're not gonig to die of thirst in any park, and if I couldn't surive 3-4 hours without a drink, heaven forbid, we're back at the resort for high noon anyway. Just too much over kill along with mister fans, neck coolers and the like. Heck, if I'm that miserable in a park, resort here I come, can always refresh and go back.

I have to agree with the others. Overkill. There are plenty of places to get a drink. Carry as little as possible. You'll be happier.

we took hydration backpacks every day of our 9 day trip. we loved them.

DH & i each had one that was also a backpack. we had two kids in strollers and needed the backpack anyway for diapers, etc. he shared with our DS2 and i shared with DD4. our DD9 also had her own. we filled them with ice and water before we left the room and then got a cup of ice to refill when we stopped to get food/snack at the parks.

it is not overkill. you are travelling with two little kids. you will probably need the storage space (like we did) and it was so convenient to have a drink in line or wherever they asked for one. they sipped throughout the day and we never had to worry about finding a restaurant or waiting in line to get them a cup of water.

take it and try it. if you don't like it you can always leave it in the room.

We thought about it when we went last September, but we didn't do it and we regretted it.... You have to stay hydrated...BTW Welcome to the next best place on earth

yup,that's how I feel! The less I have to carry the better! I told my nieces and nephew that they could bring whatever they felt they needed but that THEY would be carrying it!!

I just purchased one for our trip in August. I got one that is on the smaller side.It is a backback but it just hold the bladder and has a small pocet. We have a large Nothface backback that has a bladder in it but I didn't want to carry that big one all day. I was just going to hang this one over my stroller. Yes you can always stop for free ice water but we have small kids who get thristy. It takes a while to stand in line at a CS location/carts when its busy. We just got back a few wks ago and one I had to stand in line for 20 min just to get a cup of ice water for my DD's.
To anyone that owns one do they sweat through the bag?

We took our camelback on our last trip in February & it was great. Each morning, we filled it with ice & water and it stayed cold all day long. It was nice always having water at our fingertips and we had plenty to last all day. Also, it did not get warm since we used mostly ice that would melt throughout the day.
Plus, having the backpack to hold the small essentials we needed throughout the day was great too

My daughter uses the small backpack style for Disney (and hiking, which is why she has it in the first place) and swears by it. It also has a pocket or two that holds tickets, camera, etc.

MY DD an avid outdoors-woman and AP hiker always takes her camel back when we head to Disney or any outdoor festival for that matter.

I carry a filtered water bottle myself and I would be lost without being able to take a drink when ever I need it not just when I am passing a water fountain.

I think it is a great idea!

Do you mean that DBF brought his own "bar" into the MK?
