Dh informed me Sat morning that he wanted to rent a Harley. (He just got his endorsement a few months ago) When we stopped for soda and such Thursday we saw a new Harley place on I-drive just north of Jamacia Dr infront of the Walgreens. I called them on the cell phone and asked how much. DH rented a Sportster for $99 a day. The full coverage insurance was $28 a day. (I didn't want to deal with any problems he might have encountered, so we got the insurance from them, even thought our insurance would have covered him) There isn't a helmet law in Florida, but their insurance says that you have to wear one. For the $99, he got the bike, helmet, gloves, raingear, and locks for 24 hours. Total, with the insurance, was about $135.
He really wanted a Dynaglide, which they do rent but they were out of them. After trying to find him one, they couldn't, though. (anything other than a Sportster would have been around $130 a day) DH "settled" for the Sport that they had there. Poor Baby. LOL He had a great time on it! He got lost a few times north of Orlando, but had fun checking out the scenic routes he took. The only thing he didn't like about the bike is it was stock. There is just something about hearing a Harley's gutteral rumble. The bike didn't have that because it had the stock pipes on it and they have "mufflers" on them. Other than that, DH loved it. (He missed his in the garage) He turned the bike in without any problems. They will probably get to know us in the next few years. LOL
Just thought someone might be interested. If you have any questions, let me know.
