never been to DisneyLAND before, I've heard it's smaller than WDW, but how many days will I need to fully see it? Thinking of staying at the Grand Californian and also trying to do some other Southern Californian sites, including the new American Girl at The Grove for my dd age 7.

Ideas and suggestions much appreciated!

There is a great Disneyland board here as well. Time to see Disneyland and California adventure maybe 2 1/2 to 3 days if you want to take your time and not rush, or if the crowds are huge.

When I go I usually have 3 solid days to spend there with 1/2 day on each end for travel, that way we can leave the parks and go nap and swim.

Hope you have a great time :goodvibes

We are also planning on going.

It's smaller in the sense that there are less number of parks and hotels and it is in a smaller area, where WDW is spread out, but I read somewhere that there are only 4 or 5 more attractions at WDW than DL. Also keep in mind there are not as many Fastpasses at DLR as WDW. June is a busy time and be careful what time of June you decide to come, June is normally Gradnite, DL closes fairly early for the graduates from various high schools to enjoy the park. I guess it all depends what part of June and what kind of a park goer you are.

thanks for the heads up about Grad Nite. We're thinking of going Mid June as soon as shes out. We're in DVC and the rates are a little lower for that time of June.

I wouldn't think the Grads would be interested in the same things as a 7 year old, but I know, this IS Disney, afterall!

Well the thing is the park closes and they bus in the graduates. the park is open exclusively to them from about 9 p.m. - 6 a.m. It is quite a big deal, its a sort of tradition for high schoolers in the So. Cal area. I was just letting you know because this could affect fireworks/Fantasmic during your visit.

I was just in Disneyland and we were in the parks for parts of four days. You can see it all in 2 if you rush around like a mad person, but to take your time, schedule at least 3. They have a special pass there that you can do the San Diego Zoo and other places on one ticket. Check the Disneyland section here or MousePlanet has a lot of Disneyland veterans to answer questions.

thanks and oops, I didn't realize there was a specific DisneyLand site, thanks! I'll head over there now...

Also thanks for clarifying about the park closing early for the Grads. Sounds like they certainly have a lot of fun.

Guess that's why the rates are lower too, huh?
