My wife and I, recently retired, love Disney, and we are thinking of moving to the Celebration area. We would be renting at first, and am wondering how to do it. We are thinking of working through a realtor who can scout out, and recommend apartments for us. Any recommendations/ideas would be appreciated.

When we moved to the central Florida area, we needed to rent until our house was built. We went through a realtor to find one, in part because we wanted to be close to where the construction was, there weren’t a lot of rentals in the area at that time, and we were working, not retired, so we didn’t have a lot of time to drive around looking. It worked out well for us, as we got a condo in the neighborhood next to our new one and we could even walk to the construction site.

Good luck with your hunt and happy retirement!

I would look up stuff on youtube. I have watched some videos of people doing walk through on apartment complexes in Celebration

I assume you know how expensive houses in Celebration can be right?

you can get much nicer houses for half of the price if you move few miles away. FYI

congrats on retirement!

I’m so jealous! I would love to be a Celebration snow bird but my husband says no. 😁 We have a pet so that complicates things for longer travel.

Why Celebration? It's cute but the reality of living there is not the same as visiting. We know 2 couples who have lived there and are happy, but most locals do not see Celebration the same way that tourists do. Traffic can be difficult, areas surrounding Celebration aren't as magical, etc. If you have done your research and have decided this is the place where you want to be, then your realtor is going to be your best person to help you find the right apartment.

That said, there area a lot of nice areas that are close to Disney that aren't Celebration. When we first began looking for a house, we thought Celebration would be at the top of our list. And the more we looked in person and began weighing out traffic, amenities, distance to daily needs, what we could get for our money, the lower Celebration went on the list.
