The resort sits on it's own Longview Island- located on Broad Creek that cuts thru HH itself. The resort is part of Shelter Cove, home to a marina and shopping area with a number of boutique shoppes and about 6 restaurants. These are all within about 400 yards of the resort and many of the restaurants offer a discount to guests at the resort.
As mentioned by Doctor P, the beach is just over a mile away and may be reached be resort shuttle, personal auto, bike or even walking. You'll need to pass thru a security gate, but resort guests do receive a parking pass to get thru the gate. The resort has two pools, two snack bars, a store, Community Hall and small exercise facility. There is a wonderful recreation staff with programs and activities for all age groups - including adults. There are many family activites available too.
There is no full service restaurant at the small resort (it is the smallest
DVC resort - 102 villas), but there are several within walking distance and over 200 within a short drive right at HH.
You should make your plans as soon as possible because the busiest time at HH is from June - August. The villas fill up quickly during that time period, so plan ahead if you want to go at that time.
Enjoy!
