We are planning an orlando trip Mid-September and thanks to free dinning at disney a character meal is out there. However, we are planning a day at US and could potentially do one there. The breakfast on Sunday at IOA would work for us or Dinner after the park on Monday at the Island dinning room would work too. It might be a little late in the week but Wends at the Kitchen is also possible.

Any thoughts about this. The resort resturants look like they would be nice for my family with the kids areas. DH and I both might get to actually eat a dinner for a change.

many day park guest dine at the hotels in the evening.
you won't be alone.

the kids area is nice.
i never heard any children while i was at the Kitchen or at Island Dining Room during last years stay during dinner.

the characters are only at one hotel per day.
call to see which hotel will have the character dining for the date you are interested in.

i believe the listing is on the hotel websites for which days the characters should be present, but that can change.
therefore, that is why i suggest you call in advance.

While the food is your average blah breakfast buffet, Confisco Grille in IOA has a character breakfast my daughter even at the tender age of 13 still insists on every time we go... problem is they only have it 2 or 3 days out of every week (at least on the off season when we go)... so when you call to make a reservation, make sure they have the characters for that breakfast - otherwise you're eating cold, over-cooked breakfast food for nothing. ;)

Oh and the characters, if they haven't changed since last fall, are Spiderman, Cat in the Hat, Thing 1 and Thing 2 and occasionally Wolverine.

Best part is that Spiderman talks and that just makes him the best character to interact with hands down.
