Pardon me if the question has already been answered someone else in this forum - did a search and could not find a prior thread on this question

Thanks

Yes there is a cap- 2000 points per person in a specific resort, and 5000 per person total. I would imagine you could put that in your name, and another 2000/5000 in your wife's name. That would be a MASSIVE amount of points!

Have fun.......

Oh wait....Did you mean a cap on how many total can be sold for the entire resort? If so, the answer is still yes. They cannot sell more than the resort has. In other words, DVD cannot over sell a resort.

Did that answer your Q?

The cap I was thinking was more related to a specific home resort

Thanks
Jason

A timeshare developer is legally restricted to maintaining a one owner per room per day ratio. In other words, Disney cannot sell more points than it would take to reserve all rooms dedicated to DVC for the year (and for the most part 2BR lockoffs are sold based on total points to reserve as a 2BR and not as a separate 1BR and studio). The total number of points that can be sold for each resort is established and fixed at the time the resort first goes on sale. The number can be increased later if the resort is expanded by the addition of new rooms like OKW was in the late 1990's but otherwise it cannot change. BWV has about 3.8 million points; others I am not clear on but OKW is likely in the 6 to 7 million range, and VWL and BCV are lower than BWV.
