Thinking about trying Citricos and Jiko

We went to Citrico's for our anniversary dinner in June. I liked the oak-fillet of beef and my partner loved her red-snapper paella. The hit of the night were the lovely desserts and delicious appetizers. The white wine and feta shrimp and the chocolate banana torte were our favorites.

I have some pictures and our thoughts on each dish here if you want to take a look.

Hope this helps some! :)

Like Koolaidmoms said - love the feta shrimp pasta appetizer! Also the pear and endive salad was spectacular!!!

Thank you so much!! The pics were great!! I will definitely have to try the white wine and feta shrimp....yummy!! The dessert looks amazing too!:)

Went to both last year, and they are the only 2 sigs that I'm repeating this year! (More due to lack of nights for sigs than anything though :p). They were also the 2 best meals that I had.

Citrico's:
Aracini App, no pictures of it because I forgot ><. I first had Aracini a couple nights before over at Via Napoli, so it was fresh in my mind. It was very very good.

Entree was the Oak Grilled Filet:

Very tasty.

Dessert was the Warm Chocolate Banana Torte... as the PP made mention, this was amazing.
=
Unlike the PP, I actually stuffed the whole thing down (I was pretty full as well, but I couldn't stop :p)

Jiko
Interestingly enough, this was my next day! (It's on my arrival day this year though).

On DxDDP here, or just because the server liked me, or because I was solo, and dressed in a brand new WDW polo shirt... I got an extra app here from the salad course..

Tomato and Red Onion Salad
This was also very good. It did have a bit of a kick to it, but I really enjoied that.

For the real appetizer, I had the Bobotie Rolls. Again, very tasty. (This is why I don't actually write reviews :p, my description of everything boils down to "Very Good/Tasty", "Good", and "OK").

The entree is no longer available as it was, but I had the Filet with Mac and Cheese (I promise it was more in focus than the picture shows ;)) The best part about this dish was the red-wine reduction it was all in. Simply amazing when combined with the other flavors. It's now presented with some sort of "risotto" (it's in quotes in the menu) instead of the Mac & Cheese, but it's still said to be very good. In fact, I'll be trying it on Thursday.

Dessert was the Dutch Apricot Spice Cake or something of the such. With the added salad, I was pretty full at this time so I only nibbled, but decided that it wasn't for me. Not a fan of apricots and I have no real reason why I ordered it. (I did the same at Artist Point earlier in the week, ordered some cherry dessert at the server's recommendation, and I don't like cherries...) The picture came out bad, so I culled it from my gallery :p

You really can't go wrong at either place (or most, if not all, of the sigs).

Already booked myself for Jiko again. The short ribs were excellent, and the wine selection and service were superb.
