Thinking about getting a tattoo

So i'm thinking about getting my first tattoo. I've thought about it for years but never could think of something that i'd want permanetly stuck on my body. However, I've recently been though a really rough patch and come out a better person with a stonger marriage for it. I'd like to get three stars on my hip area (so i can cover it). They would symbolize my family and remind me to always put them first. Also, three for the trinity as without God, i wouldn't have survived. So for other with tattoos, what do you think?

Totally go for it! Do some googling for Tattoo Parlours in your area, and make sure to meet with the tattooist....alot of times they have a long waiting list (if they are good anyway!). They should be willing to work with you to get the drawing how you like, and also should be patient with you as this is your first. Also maybe google 'tattoo stars' or something like that and see some examples to get some ideas.

I vote :thumbsup2 for tattoos!

Thanks DutchsMommy.. I think my dh and I are going to go for the consult this weekend. I've already spoken with several people who all recommeneded the same place. I think i've picked out my design too. Just have to see how it looks on me.

Just be careful because apparently tattoos can be addictive! My DH got one for his 40th b-day a couple years ago and now he is up to 3 tattoos and saving up for another one!

go fot it... i've got two... each are special for their own reasons... my DH has3 and is talking about another... i think DH will run out of skin before he decides he has enough tattoos

I'm planning on the exact tattoo. I'd be happy to forward a copy of my design if your interested. It's a blue star, outlined in black with the words Love is Love intertwined between the stars. (The love is love is a personal saying between my and someone)

Go for it! I have 3 and they all have special meaning for me. I also put them in areas where they cannot be seen so they cannot interfere with my job. But as others have posted it is addicting! I was only going to do one and here I am at 3 :goodvibes

Last week I was working and someone called in and some how we got on the conversation of tattoos. She got her first tattoo at 55 and now has 20. She says they are addicting but loves them.

I'm thinking of getting one too, but it's one or three. But I keep coming up with ideas of others too. lol

Here's a couple questions I've been thinking about.

Where are the places that sag less as time goes on?

Where does it hurt and don't hurt, so much? I know that's relative.

I am not sure about the sagging but I am pretty sure most places will eventually:scared1:

I have 3: back, hip, and foot-out of those 3 the foot hurt the worst then back then hip

It really doesn't hurt so much as it just feels annoying like repeated pinching.

I am thinking that the back, shoulders, ankles and arms would sag less than stomach, hip or breasts.

It hurts more if they're going over bone. I have one on my ankle and when he worked on the fleshy part of the calf it wasn't bad but when he got closer to the bone, it hurt.

Do it! But yes, they are addicting, I have one on my lower back, I want 2 more at least....LOL

My son (20 in November) recently got a tattoo on his upper arm and he loves it. He wants to get one on his upper back too. I hope that is it, because I feel he is perfect the way he is.:lovestruc

So i think i'm going to get mine on friday..I'm a little nervous but excited too. I'd like to get it on my left hip area but not somewhere that well stretch with pregnancy. Any thoughts from the ladies... My criteria is for it to be on the front side of me but somewhere i can cover up if i want to. Thanks.
