Thinking about buying, UY?

My wife and I are wanting to buy VWL resale. We go every year in December and are unsure of what UY we should be looking for. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I would go with June to December. A June use year would be bankable up to January 31. There are no January, May, July or November use years.

How does the reservation work with the use year? Say you have a June UY, could you make a reservation for December in January, even though you wouldn't get your points until June?

Points will already be in your account to use based on date of stay, they don't "deposit" when the use year starts. Right now when I look at my account online, I have points there through the April 2011 use year. There's no waiting for the use year to start, points are there 3 years ahead.

Not sure how it works, but I will tell you why I goofed!!! I have a March use year, and for some reason, we always seem to go in February. This year - I booked my 2008 points for February 2009, doesn't seem like a problem. But if for some reason we can't go last minute, or even a few months out, I'm in trouble, because I would loose those points March 1. Probably not explaining it well, but If you think you will vacation mostly in December, I would think Sept or Oct would be good for you? I could be wrong though on my logic.
