My wife and I are thinking about taking a vacation to Disney World for 10 days and then finishing up with a 3 day cruise(would be our first cruise, just to get a taste of it). For the land part of my trip I am strongly concidering renting some DVC points for Boardwalk or Beach Club. I will probablly use magical express to get to my accomidations from the airport so will I need to rent a car to get from Disney World to the cruise ship or can I use the same transportation as people on the land and sea package? The second part of my question is what are my options for getting from the ship to the airport after the cruise is over? Also we are concidering AP's for Disney world and does anybody know if they ever offer AP discounts on the cruise line?

:teeth: I can't answer all of your questions...but I can let you know a couple things....Very rarely are there AP discounts...and when there are it's only breif times during the year. You can and can't use the same transportations as those who do the land/sea...by that I mean you can book transfers with DCL to get to the port and even back to the airport when your done. Depending on whos in your group...it is often cheeper to book either a towncar...or to do a car rental instead of the Disney transfers...plus that way you have control of when you arrive...unlike with the DCL transfers..you go when they say the shuttle will leave..and if there is room for you on that round. I thought that for a short time when they were doing the magical express (that's new isn't it?)...it included transfers to the port and back also...I could be wrong..but it's worth checking into.

As for options for getting to the airport from the port after the cruise..it's really the same as getting to the port. Rent a car near the port and drop off at the airport...book a town car (or even a limo :) )...or get the DCL transfers. We booked a limo last time to the port and back..and it was a wonderful way to kick start our vacation and to end it.

We did our first cruise last Sept...and had to decide between the 3-4 and 7 nights..and I'm SOOOOO glad we went with the seven night cruise...even that wasn't long enough...Have you thought of doing a week at both- WDW and DCL? Just asking.

We thought about a week at the world and a week cruising but this will by only my second trip to disney (last one in like 94 when I was 12, 22 now) and my wifes first ever trip to disney and there is just sooooooooo much to do and see there that we thought take more time there now to see stuff and then end it up with a relaxing tase of a cruise to maybe get us ideas for next time :cool1:

Just be warned...there is quite a lot to do on the ship also. On our seven day..there was no way to do it all....we kept busy the whole time...You'll have a blast either way...and 10 days at the world will give you plenty of time to not feel to rushed there. I've never been...we were suppose to go for a week before our cruise last year...but it was cancled due to the hurricanes...the place we were staying...cancled all stays durring that time period :guilty: ...maybe someday.
