Tomorrow is the big day.
I go into surgery at 6:30 am and it should last around 5 1/2 to 6 hours. I know that I won't remember much about tomorrow.
I wrote my will and got the papers signed for my insurance just in case but if all of you pray to whoever you pray to it might help a little.
I met with the oncologist yesterday and he said the tumor has tripled in size since my diagnosis. He is almost positive that it has spread to the bone because of the way it has invaded the chest wall. there are 5 small satalite tumors surrounding the large tumor. Last week there were only 4. There is large node involvement so I will be losing most if not all of the lymph nodes on my right arm. I am left handed so at least that is on my side.
Chemo and Radiation will start in two weeks. He feels that I will need both although my surgeon had said chemo would be enough. And he does not feel I should wait till the 6 week recovery time. He was uspet that I didn't see him sooner and start prior to surgery (Ruthie and Robyn you were right). He wants me out of work for the entire time I am going through treatment. so maybe I can get my bald head down to Fl for some much needed sun in the winter.
I will be in the hospital for at least 5 days so I won't be posting but I know that you are all thinking about me and I will try and contact some of you to pass on the word as soon as I become more alert.
Keep the prayers coming, Peggie
