Think i'll stay in the Room 4 a WHILE! 2 Full 4 Fun Vegan/Omni Review COMPLETED 10/3

Wow, I would have thought Woflgang Puck would have been more accomodating, you shouldn't really have to guess as to what might be vegan for dessert and then have the waitstaff check for you. Where was the chef?
Your Kouzinna Sweet potato hash looks awesome! CP surprised me but I guess certain meals and chefs are just better for vegans than others.
Loving your reviews!! Your son is a cutie patootie!
Also-OT-Tofutti makes a really good pizza that cuts the urge! Tastes like junk food pizza :)

I thought so too! At Wolfgang Puck the chef never came to the table.

The hash at Kouzzina was phenominal!!! A must try!

Glad your enjoying the reviews, it's funny how writing them brings you back to your vacation. Thanks, David is a ham!

WHERE do you get Tofutti Pizza??? I don't think I've ever seen it!

Here we go again, no pics. Why? I have absolutely no idea! Was it that maybe I was really hungry because we skipped Breakfast and was not too thrilled with Wolfgang? Probably not, because I was still full from the prior day. I know I had my camera because I have some pics from that night at the Boardwalk, but what can I say? I guess I forgot. I promise my next Disney Trip (that i'm already planning) will have pictures of EVERYTHING! :thumbsup2

Anyway, since we loved Kouzzina's Breakfast so much and they were so accomadating of my veganness(yes I also invent my own words on occasion), we decided to try dinner. We arrived at 7:00pm and were seated right away. Our ADR was for 8:00 however. This showing up early seemed to be a pattern for us.

Appetizers:

Me: I started with the Trio of Spreads. I don't remember the actual name of this on the menu but it was a Kalamata Olive Spread, Hummus, and something with yogurt that I replaced with a double portion of Hummus. This was served with Pita Bread. OMG, the Kalamata Olive Spread was AMAZING! If I knew how good this was going to be I would have double this instead of the hummus. Hummus is also a favorite of mine so having me say this is better was something! The Hummus was really good too.
Dave: Dave had a house salad, he said it was really good. I've never seen him order so many salads haha!

Entree:
Me:
By the time I finished my appetizer, I wasn't even hungry but had ordered the Roasted Vegetable with Orzo. This was really good too, well seasoned, tasted very fresh. Though I am not a big fan of red tomato based sauce with anything beside pizza, it was very good.
Dave: Dave had the Cinnamon Scented Chicken which he said was 'great'. Real helpful, right?!
David: David had the Grilled Chicked with Sweet Potato Fries. David ATE EVERYTHING on the plate. He loved it! This was his first experience with sweet potato fries, which he was happy about. I tasted them and they were the best sweet potato fries I had ever had.

Dessert:
Me:
I wasn't hungry at all at this point but the waitress had insisted they were making something for me. It was a doughnut hole type thing served with a raspberry sauce instead of the usual honey it is served with. It was okay, but needed more sugar in the dough. It really just tasted like bland bread. But this didn't change the fact that I love Kouzzina. It was a very nice gesture.
Dave: Dave ordered the Baklavah to go. We took it back to the room and he ate it later and said it was delicious.
David: Can you believe this kid had room for dessert? He ended up having two desserts. He ordered the Build your Own Cookie. We all should know at this point that David loves Cookies, so he was thrilled with this.

We would definately go back here for dinner. I think I will try a different entree if possible and maybe skip dessert?

After dinner I promised David we could go to the candy store next door to Kouzzina. I was shocked that he still wanted to go after eating all that he did. So we went anyway. David found a Nemo Cookie! He was happy and that became his second dessert. :wizard: I do have a picture of the cookie.

We mainly went here because of the whole 'Breakfast with Spiderman'. David is obsessed with everything that there is Spidey. We entered the restaurant and he spotted him!
He was sooooo excited laughing, smiling and pointing.
disneyworld413.jpg

disneyworld411.jpg

I also got one of spideys butt haha!
disneyworld422.jpg

It was until Spiderman actually came to our table that all we got was this still boy who wouldn't talk, move, or look at Spiderman. I think he was so excited and nervous that he didn't know what to do with himself. :rotfl:

I have about 10 pictures with him in this same position.
disneyworld414.jpg

He was a little more relaxed when I held him
disneyworld419.jpg

The food, however, was not even worth a photo. The only thing that I was able to eat was a tator tot style star. I had strawberry jelly with them. Not that appetizing. David wouldn't eat because he was so nervous but he took a bite out of a banana muffin. Dave had some eggs, tator tots and sausage. I don't recommend this breakfast if you are coming just for Spiderman. Had I known that you ould walk about 20 steps from the restaurant and do a regular Spiderman meet and greet we would have just dont that.

Anyway we will rate it just because...

We weren't to pleased with Islands of Adventure so we left kind of early. We decided to have a late lunch at POP around 3:30 or 4:00.

I started with the Wheat Thins and Roasted Garlic Hummus. The hummus was actually really good! I personally love wheat thins so I thought they nicely complimented the hummus. We all ended up sharing this..even though secretly I wanted to eat it all because of my tator tot breakfast.
snack2.jpg

Dave ordered the Beef and Broccoli. He said this was really good, but not like restaurant beef and broc, which is understandable. Not the best pic.
disneyworld485.jpg

I had the Vegetable Lo Mein. This was unedible. It was disgusting! I have heard good things about it before so I was excited to have it but even Dave wouldn't eat it and he eats anything. Thank god for the hummus!
disneyworld484.jpg

David had the Chicken Nuggets and Fries, which he liked a lot despite insisting that he wasn't hungry, and ate it all! He gave plenty of 'yums' throughout this meal. They also let him substitute his dessert for Divvies Cookies because of his 'allergy' or my craving for cookies, whichever it was they were good. David and I shared the Divvies and we both have a new favorite cookie.

Really enjoying the report. I had a similar experience at Wolfgang Puke's. I really like WPExpress, but the Table Service locale was disappointing to say the least.

Thanks for writing it up!

Thanks for writing it up!

Glad i'm not just entertaining myself! I'm almost afraid to try any other Wolfgang location after that one. I've had better food at Denny's. I'm starting to pre-plan my ADR's for next years trip! Any good suggestions? :cheer2:

Yep, brace yourself for the worst pictures you will ever see of Jiko. The food was fabulous, the waitress was interesting, and the pictures are horrendous! :rotfl2:

Jiko was a last minute decision of mine and our only Signature restaurant. I made the ADR about 10 minutes after we had out Pop 'lunch'. Can you belive I was still thinking of food??? The boys took a nap and I made ADR's and came on DIS for suggestions. :worship:

We arrived at 9:30 for our 9:40 ADR. We were seated right away once again. The restaurant was pretty empty but it was pretty late and this time of year things were pretty quiet anyway. It was nice though.

I was stoked to see the vegan menu which I did not photograph due to forgetting my camera once more. I did at the last minute to use my cell phone to take pictures. So did I warn you about the pictures?

They brought us 2 baskets of bread, one vegan, one not. One with butter, and mine with oil. They looked pretty much the same, mine was a bit darker in color. The bread was actually pretty good, soft but with a bit of spice on the top. Delish!
jiko4.jpg

I started with the olive hummus flatbread, which you can probably tell was pretty good from the one measly piece remaining for a photo.
jiko8.jpg

Dave started with a Soup. He doesn't remember what kind it was though. He said it was good but he didn't finish it. This could've been because it was not great or because he was crumbling under the DxDP pressure. i never got to verify.
jiko7.jpg

David got some fruit that he did not touch nor did I photograph.

Our entrees arrived slowly. You know it was really busy in there LOL! But it didn't matter much to us because we were enjoying relaxing in the dim lights. I was so pleased with the vegan menu that I did not order off of it! :thumbsup2 The waitress said that the chef makes a fabulous vegetable curry with rice that is also vegan so I figured what the heck and gave it a try. It was good, but the seasoning didn't seem balanced to me, a bit spicy but not much flavor. But it was decent.
jiko1.jpg

Dave had (what else?) a steak. The Filet with Mac. This got really high marks. He said it was one of the best he had.
jiko6.jpg

David had the PB&J with fruit. He ate most of the sandwich and none of the fruit once again. He liked the PB&J a lot but its not very easy to mess up.
jiko5.jpg

For dessert I had the Blueberry Sorbet with pomegranite molasses. I had high hopes for this but it was WAY too sweet. I only ate a bite or two and the peach slices that it was served with.
jiko3.jpg

Dave had the cheesecake which he said was 'real good'. It must have been for him to say that because he's usually not much of a cheesecake eater.
jiko2.jpg

David had vanilla ice cream with mickey sprinkles. This was pretty basic so I didn't take a picture but David loves some mickey sprinkles!

We liked Jiko. Would we go back? Yes, but it will probably not be on our next trip. We really liked Sanaa and I actually preferred it to Jiko, but everyones different.

The morning of your last day is always bittersweet but we had a full day of fun ahead of us at Hollywood Studios. I decided to take a few pics of David watching his new favorite tv show, Must Do Disney, that we must have watched 10,000 times over the duration of this trip.
disneyworld487.jpg

disneyworld490.jpg

Off we headed to Kouzzina! Did I mention that this is my favorite breakfast spot?!

I ordered the Steel Cut Cinnamon Oatmeal with Banana's, Pecans, and substituted the honey drizzle for real maple syrup! This was divine! I want to eat it right now, it was delicious! Not your average oatmeal!!! Of course I had the Sweet Potato Hash on the side and it was as perfect as the last time! This was the best breakfast I had the entire trip.
disneyworld494.jpg

disneyworld495.jpg

Dave had the Stacked Kouzzina Breakfast with Two Poached Eggs, Kalamata Olive Toast, Artichoke Spread, with Sweet Potato Hash and Chicken Sausage. He liked it a lot but wasn't a fan of the artichoke spread.
disneyworld493.jpg

David had the Mickey Waffles once again. He was very happy and satisfied with this meal!
disneyworld496.jpg

How many times did I say that I love Kouzzina??? We will go back again and again and again. Now I'm hungry!

Originally we were supposed to do a TS in Hollywood Studios but while keeping busy we decided to do something quick and headed to ABC Commissary. I have heard bad reviews of ABC many many times but I have been here before and like it so decided to go again.

Dave had a Burger and Fries that he said was 'pretty good' and also said it was much better than wolfgangs burgers.
disneyworld551.jpg

I had the Asian Salad which is really good and fresh. It has fresh ginger and edamame and the dressing is excellent.
disneyworld549.jpg

David also had a cheeseburger and ate the whole thing just like the last time we were here. I always say if David eats the Burgers they must be good. He is very picky when it comes to burgers!
disneyworld550.jpg

We had some Chocolate Mouse for Dessert. The boys shared these but there was no vegan options for me for dessert other than fruit so I passed. The Mouse got lots of 'yums and goods' from the boys!
disneyworld552.jpg

Again, we really liked ABC Commissary. I'm still not sure why it has so many bad reviews.

Since it was our last meal of the trip we decided to go to our favorite place of the trip. KONA! We love it!
:love::lovestruc

We had a 7:30 ADR because that was the only available time but showed up around 5:00. We were seated at about 5:20, not so bad. We had the same waiter, and who knew this meal would be an exact repeat of our last here. Well I did, since I knew when we got their that I was ordering the same thing. David fell asleep so we took his to go, and he slept throughout the whole meal.

I didn't take any new pictures because everything looked exactly the same and tasted just as good if not better than I had remembered. Here are the pics once again from round one.

Once again Kona did not dissappoint! Here our our round 2 ratings...

I think it was $2 more this time because of a colada or something.

We are planning on Kona a few times next trip and probably for Breakfast once too. :cool1:

Our Dining Reviews are complete but we will always have the memories and pictures from the trip. I will also post our dining plan cost vs. meals. Stay tuned for my Final Thought (yes like Jerry Springer).

Here is the final total of everything we ate.

I figured it out, and the total spent on just food was
drumroll please.........

$1,046.99 WOWZA! Thats a lot of food!
Plus $45 for our drink mugs
------------------------------
$1,091.99
Plus $90.00 (average total of snacks)
------------------------------
$1,181.99 For all things Consumed on our Trip!!!!

$1,395.00 Total payed for Trip including Room/Park Tickets/Dining

Worth it?????
I think so!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thats a difference of only $213.01. Can you believe that???

We will definately be upgrading to Deluxe again if we get Free Dining next time. I think we made out great, and really enjoyed our eating adventure. We cannot wait to go back and have already started planning our next Disney Vacation!

:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

What I've learned:
Always Always Always take your camera with you & take pictures of EVERYTHING. I think my next Dining Report will have much more Food Porn of better quality and consistency!

Hope you've enjoyed my reviews.

See you real soon... :wizard:
