We were in AK on Tuesday night. We grabbed a quick dinner at Restaurantaosaurus. My husband got a table and my son and I went up to get the food. When we got to the table he said look behind you. I did and :scared1: I saw a family with Chickfila cups and my husband saw them go up and fill them at the soda fountain. We have only eaten in this quick service once in all of our trips. I didn't realize until we ordered that the sodas are self service. I am sure this is NOT the first time this has been done since it is self service, but I was just SURPRISED...okay SHOCKED.. that anyone would do that. You can always bring in food to the parks. Matter of fact this same family did just that. You can also get free water at the parks. I mean if they wanted to steal soda then they could have just asked for water cups.... at least then they would have been Disney cups, but even that is JUST WRONG!!! :rolleyes2

One other time on a summer trip, we saw a group of people fill empty water bottles with the soda you can sample at the Coke drinking station place in EC. :faint:

I for one am shocked and offended when people enter the parks on the same day I do. What are they thinking? It is MY park. No one else should be there interfering in my wait times or ability to stride around unhindered by the slow, foolish masses.

I am also not particularly a fan of Chick-Fil-A. I probably would have lit that family on fire to show them who's boss. Which is me. Of course.

When parents keep yelling at howling children. WDW can be very overwhelming. If they aren't used to the walking/humidity/heat.

Take 5 minutes to find somewhere to chill, calm your child down and just take a break. It must ruin it for them as well as everyone having to listen to it.

The thing about your chick fil-a example is it sounds like there was advance planning. While I probably would not have filled up my water bottle at the Coke sample station at Epcot, they are free samples and I COULD envision a scenario where that just sort of happened spontaneously, particjlarly if just a small bottle and not some sort of camelback thing carried on a backpack.

For me, it's spitting...big honkin' globs of nastiness. Every time I see someone do this, it makes me want to puke.
Cringing is the least of my reactions.
:(:(
I truly don't understand why hawking up lugies in public is necessary. And the last place I want to see it is at WDW when I am trying to pretend that the real world doesn't exist.

This was at the resort, not the parks but... on our first trip last March we saw a man standing by the pool smoking. Dh and myself are both smokers so I am not knocking smoking at all. It was just not cool to see such a lack of courtesy for other people. :confused3

Moving to Community as this has nothing to do with Trip Planning.

Usual PSA about following board rules and remembering that this is a family friendly board apply.

I could not agree with you more! I live here and we go almost every weekend and I see this so much. While i do sometimes see bratty kids that needy to be parented vacation or not, it's usually the parents having the melt down. Makes me sad to see that at Disney.

I have seen people filling those sand pails that they were serving some kids meals in at CBR with soda from the drink stations. That seemed kinda crazy to me. And obvious.

I did see a rather Pooh sized woman strutting around in a thong bikini during our last stay at the Poly. The poor dear didn't even have enough courtesy to wax for those of us who had to endure this torture!:scared1: Just eeeewwww!

Yes, this! A peeve of mine for sure....totally gross and tasteless! YUCK!

Totally agree, selfish and careless lunks make a bad name for courteous smokers. And they are also the cause of non-smokers rants and raves about the horrible smokers! Ugh......

When smokers take their small children in strollers into cancer corner. I realize they may not have any place else to take them but it should be considered abuse.

Exactly! (Except I'd let you in with me, since we think alike and all ;) )

Okay to me thats a little much but thats just my op.

People who don't watch their kids. We were in line at the Land recently and some man had 3 pre-teen and teenage kids with him. They were punching, pushing, and kicking each other and not gently. Then one rested his arms on the bars that funnel you through the line and then he rests all of his weight on the bars, and swings both his legs out to crash/kick the other two. The dad was completely oblivious and just kept walking in front of them. I am not one to speak up EVER, but it was so ridiculous that I had to say something. We had to intentionally drop back in line to get away from them. While on the ride, they were on the boat in front of us and the staff had to announce several times overhead "sit down please" and you could tell the staff was getting frustrated.

Tell that to my diseased lungs that now require daily medicine for me to stay alive.

I'm not going to talk about your diseased lungs, or where they possibly came from, but if you take a minute to think about it you could see that it really isn't abuse. Those cancer corner areas you speak of, are in the outdoors where the parts per million of smoke is almost not countable. If you want to be concerned for their well being think about their exposure to smoke in a closed up car or a house. Compared to that, this minor infraction isn't really worth mentioning.

If their parents have forced a cigarette in the child's mouth and forced them to smoke it...then you have a case.

Whatever helps you sleep at night.
