Tonight on my way home I was listening to Mitch Albom (subsitute host) and they had a woman on from Naples, FL. Unbelievable as it may sound, her daughter (age-6) was selling lemonade at the end of their driveway and a neighbor called the city to complain. So....complain away....who would care, right??
NOT IN NAPLES....the city bureaucrats made the little girl stop or get a permit??? GET A PERMIT...TO SELL LEMONADE! They've got to be kidding!!!
First, who would call to complain? And why would the city care? Don't they have anything better to do...like help the homeless or something? Maybe they don't have bigger issues like this in Naples.
This story does have a happy ending, though. The woman, when asked what her daughter had learned from the experience said "She learned how to make lemonade out of lemons". She can give the lemonade away for FREE and accept TIPS!
In true American entrepenureal spirit, people are going out of their way to get lemonade from this young girl and leave her a tip! Due to the free publicity she is making more money than she ever did selling it AND there is much more traffic...hence defeating the purpose of the call in the first place!
Way to go...AVIGALE in Naples....sometimes right is just that....RIGHT!
