Instead of making different threads, even though these two things have nothing to do with each other, I thought I'd just put them in one thread.

These are things I've noticed, and I hope they open up a discussion.


1. Kidz Bop -- I never bought these CD's and not only do I think the CD is stupid, but it is completely inappropriate for kids. Do the people making the CD realize what some of these lyrics are?

I don't know about some of you, but I wouldn't want my little kids listening to some of the songs they put on these CD's. Not only that, but if you are going to let your kid listen to these songs, why not just give them the real version, not a badly done one. Do you agree?

2. One some threads not one but many threads that have been started have led to people talking about religion. Now I see this (and hear it in life in general), a lot:
People say "Oh and so is trying to get people to believe in their religion." But isn't saying this doing the same thing? People say "they are trying to get me to believe their religion is better!" and so on. But by reacting this way, and coming to your own defense, are you trying to tell them your religion is better? Do you agree?

***This was not directed at any particular thread, I have seen these many times, and I don't recall who said this stuff so it is not against anyone. (These are also not exact quotes)

seriously with kidz bop I don't think the 9 year olds who want these cd's not the 13 year olds should be listening to 'girlfriend' swears is something they shouldn't be hearing.

I've listened to their version of Makes Me Wonder. "And it really makes me wonder why I ever gave a thought about you." Umm...What..? =/
They sound SO depressed in Umbrella.. D=

i listen to those songs and Im 13, but not on kidzbop or whatever. Kids are swearing at school and I hear all them time on tv etc.


I dont think swearing is an issue on them.

i dont believe kids should be listeing to some of the songs that were put on there because the majority of the lyrics they didnt change are still somewhat suggestive. Theres really no point of even having kids bop. Kids are probably going online and listeing to the real version cuz their parents prevent them from listeing to it in the first place, their curiousity gets the best of them

well I guess it depends on the age of the person.

true but i mean the little little kids can go on i mean my brother is 6 and knows how do more with a computer then i probably can lol i think we overlook how smart they really have come to be so these kids probably look up the real lyrics

it doesn't matter
when I was 10, i do a lot of voulinteer work, i was working the concession stand at a baseball tournament and a kid steals a hot dog. i go after him to make him pay and he starts cussing me out, he was 6 then when i tell his dad to make him pay and all he pats the kid on the back and says good job

i don't think that CD maters about ruining a kids word choice

For the Kids Bop,they switch the inapprioate lyrics. There's no wayy they would put swear words on a kids CD.
I have one of them,and hate it so much. But then again,I am more used to the orignal song.

But I see your point..10 year olds shouldn't be listening to these songs.
Maybe they don't think that the kids will know what the lyrics mean..?

I absolutely, absolutely hate censored music. More than anything. It makes the song sound awful. As far as letting little kids listen to it? Yeah, go ahead. As long as the kid knows they aren't supposed to repeat those words, they can go ahead and listen to it. No point in 'protecting their little ears', they'll hear it sooner or later.

As for religion...
It's the root of many of today's problems, and the past's problems.

I realize they are gonna here it sooner or later and its not even so much the bad words, its some lyrics in general. A little kid is not going to understand some of this. I see no point in these CDs. Haha. I guess its hard though, they don't really have "kid music" anymore. They used to have Backstreet Boys and N'Sync, but now there is nothing in between "The Wiggles" and Explicit music for kids to listen to.

I agree with the Kidz bop thing.
They really cant sing.
Why would they change Never Again!, that got me so angry, if it has bad things DONT ADD IT.
Most of the songs are inappropriate for kids.
I wouldnt want some like 6 year old running around singing, well I dont want to post the words on here but part of the song Girlfriend...
