there are things IN my current home but nothing ABOUT it-very different.

Other than the fact that they are both safe, comfortable and happy homes, there is NOTHING remotely similar about my current place to the house I was raised in.

Marble top table in my Living room was in my parents living room. They got is 7 years before I was born, and the manufacture date indicates it was made in 1923, so it was made 27 years before they got it.
Book shelf in my Living Room my dad made about 60 years ago. Piano in my Living Room I got as a child 60 years ago. Coffee table and end tables were in my mom's living room purchased 7 years before I was born

Nothing about the house on it's own. But we have items from my childhood home and also have things from DH's childhood home.

The seating nook in the kitchen - had one in my favorite childhood home (still have dreams about that house!) and when we walked into this house, I wasn't sold, but it put the house in second place of all the ones we had looked at. It's was hubby's second choice as well, and we couldn't agree on our first choices, so we picked this one. Been here for over 3 decades.
