Bottom of post for chapters....

I know this kind of a late pre-trip report, compared to others, but it’s my first, and I wanted to have most plans completed. I should say no names will be used in this report and just pics of me. There will be LOTS OF PICS in my trip report, just no faces of family. I generally like pics of crowds and informative pics, because I’m a Disney Geek. My family is kind of picky and protective about giving out personal info about ourselves. Some people might not understand, but we have our reasons. You can see me, but I’ll keep my name to myself. I’m very excited about this trip as they let the Disney Geek, me, plan the whole thing! I hope I don’t disappoint anyone!

WHEN: October 9-15th
WHERE: Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa (Rented Points)
WHY: Niece’s Birthday. MNSSHP and F&W(just me interested in that one I guess)
HOW: Annual Passes, Rented Points; We like just paying for food. It’s easier for us. We get some discounts as AP. We have the discount for the Safari Club at Rainforest Café and T-Rex Café. TIW might be worth it, but I did the math and it was right at the break-even point, so we choose not to get it this year.

You can read about Safari Club here and see if it's worth it for your family:

You can also get your kids a meal for 99. by participating in the Wild Bunch Kid Zone:

Cast: We all live in the Florida Panhandle.

I’ve lived in Florida since I was 5 years old and have gone to WDW too many times to remember. Huge Disney Geek. I live in the Panhandle of Florida. I am a current student at UWF and just turned twenty-something…LOL You have to start hiding it early! I work in the healthcare industry, in the boring department that gets paid well.
Fav character: Stitch followed by the Tremaine Sisters.
Fav ride: I couldn’t choose to save my life!

DSIL:tinker:: Sister of sorts, my niece’s mother. Born in Florida; I like to refer to her as, “feisty”.

DMIL::MinnieMo: The best mother-in-law there ever was!

DFIL::MickeyMo:The best father-in-law there ever was too!

DN (niece)princess:: Loves Nightmare Before Christmas and Tangled. Really likes day of the dead skulls and monsters…coolest pre-school girl EVER! Born in Florida too.

(If you’re wondering, my husband and baby died about two and a half years ago. That is why I have in-laws and no husband. Weird family dynamics, I know. I was a widow at 21. (Math*) It’s a bit awkward to explain to people. My parents live in Montana, so this is the closest family I have in Florida.)

AT WDW back in NYE09/10, with BFF

The Plan

Sunday, October 9th, Driving
Driving from Panhandle of Florida (Pensacola-Panama City Area) to Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa. We are planning to leave about 9am, but I know we won’t... *cough* They are always late *cough* But I love them. The GPS says it will take us about 7 hours and 20 mins, but it will take us longer. If we get there at a good time, we are hoping to eat at either Cap’n Jacks or Fultons restaurant. If not, we will probably pick up quick service at Downtown Disney. Our resort is next to Downtown Disney and I am hoping our room is walking distance. I haven’t been to Downtown Disney since I was 14, because it’s not a must-do, but they have added a bunch since I have been there and I’m excited to be so close to it.

Here is pics of our hotel:

Here is video of a two-bedroom Villa, I think DVC offers something for everybody:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uVxEGIMZZiY

Monday, October 10th, Epcot/ Downtown Disney
It’s my DN’s birthday and we have a full day. 8o A 9:30am ADR at Downtown Disney’s BBB, followed by a 1:30 ADR at the Royal Banquet Hall, Norway Pavilion, Epcot. Then, my DSIL insists on going back to Downtown Disney for dinner at T-Rex Café. I think it would be better to eat at the Coral Reef for dinner. We want to eat there sometime during the vacation, but my DSIL knows my DN will enjoy T-Rex more. Birthday wins out over better plan. I don’t know how many rides we will be able to fit in, but I’m going to do my best.

Tuesday, October 11th. Magic Kingdom/ MNSSHP
We are hitting MK, RD at 9am, taking a break from about 1pm-6pm and then heading back to MNSSHP. I know some people like to get there at 4pm and sleep in, but we want to see Rapunzel first M&G at 9:15am, so we might as well ride some rides during that time then too. We have a pretty loose schedule for the party, as my DN is only interested in meeting Jack Skellington, and if Disney breaks her heart, she will mostly be interested in rides and trick-or-treating. I want to met Lady Tremaine and the Stepsisters! They are my second favorites next to Stitch, and I’ve seen Stitch loads of times but never them! I am wearing a Stepsisters inspired outfit in the morning, purple for Anastasia and teal for Drizella. I’ll get a kick out of it. If I see them during the day, I’m going to say I couldn’t choose between the two and I really couldn’t, so… I’m going to be the pink power ranger for MNSSHP, only because I found this costume shirt:
http://www.80stees.com/products/Ladies-Pink-Ranger-costume-shirt.asp
It was the right price.
And my makeup and hair will be pretty nifty too, but I’m wearing jeans because I want to be comfortable for the party.

Wednesday, October 12th, Princess Tea Party, F&W, Epcot
My DSIL and DN are going to the Princess Tea Party from 10:30 to 12:30. I am going to the F&W at 11am and my DFIL and DMIL may or may not come with me. I have it planned to try 15 different countries at the moment, but may try more. Since we are staying up late for MNSSHP the night before and then my DN & DSIL are getting up for the tea party early-ish, I planned a three hour break after the party for them to take a nap, if they want to. That is why we are going to Epcot this day, although it is not recommended due to evening EMH. But that’s why we are going, because it’s open later and my DN & DSIL won’t feel a huge rush to get to a park before it closes. Plus, if you look back Monday, we don’t have a lot of time in Epcot then for rides, so I’m hoping to squeeze in any ones we missed now. The only place DSIL wants to shop is Japan. I am going to tag along and maybe do Pick-a-Pearl. I really want twins for a pair of earrings. My DN loves Hello Kitty and Japan is just the coolest place to shop in Epcot. We have Coral Reef ADR at 8:15pm tonight, still think it would be better if we do it Monday, but DSIL has ultimate say. Maybe we will go, or if we have to pick, I may suggest skipping the restaurant altogether, if we want time for rides. We really need to be back to the resort about 10:30 for RD tomorrow at AK. I wish we could stay EMH, but we may not be able to.

Thursday, October 13th Animal Kingdom/ HS for Fantasmic!
Animal Kingdom, more than any park, you want to be there at RD. Besides no lines, the animals are most active in the morning, and the park is really only designed to be enjoyed during the day hours. Thank goodness DSIL agrees and between the both of us, no one will be getting up late or else…LOLOLOL:rotfl: DSIL doesn’t want to do Kilimanjaro Safari or Rafiki’s Planet Watch, and that is just fine with me. They are doing Kali first thing in morning (I hate water rides) and we are moving clockwise from there, ending in Camp Minnie-Mickey. We also have ADR at Rainforest Café for lunch. We are planning to park hop over to HS for Fantasmic! Hoping to squeeze in a HS ride then too.

Friday, October 14th, Hollywood Studios/ maybe MK
We have a very loose schedule at HS. There is just a lot we don’t want to do. Planning to get there at RD, to get to TSMM ASAP, without running…running is not a vacation to this family. After that we can do everything almost in any order as long we get RRC out of the way soon or get FPs. Since I’m thinking we might be done around 2pm, we will probably park hop over to MK. Our schedule would be pretty loose there too. I have an ADR for Sci-fi Dine in Theatre that I hope we use. I think we will.

Saturday, October 15th The Day I Cry…It will be all over to fast!
Checking out at 11am, shopping at DTD before we go. Probably eating a sit down lunch. Driving home and wishing it wasn’t so.
(Oh ya! Going back to WDW in January, so I’ll just start planning again!!!!LOL)

Keep an eye out for my planning tips (although I don’t think anyone reading this will need that), my app tips for iphone, my packing tips, clothes and jewelry and makeup tips and money saving tips. Hoping to get them down in video format too and upload them to YouTube, in the next month. I also am currently working on door décor for our room, no window to decorate at SSR and a Disney binder, which is almost finished, and a countdown calendar for my DN.

I just got this gorgeous vintage necklace set, and I wanted to share!
This pic is very close up, LOL. Isn't it awesome!
dba5bd07.jpg

I think I am going to start collecting Disney vintage jewelry. I think it has more practical value than pin trading (no offense). I think Disney pins are super cute and I will buy them on occassion to collect, just Stitch ones of course. But, I try really really hard not to buy them, because to me, they aren't that functional. Whereas, jewelry I wear. I don't see people wearing pins outside of DW, so...I only have 1 Stitch pin at the moment actually, but I plan to buy one, if available, at MNSSHP this year. As for vintage jewelry, I am eyeing a vinatge Mickey ring at the moment. :cutie:

Thanks for visiting our PTR...I LOVE  that necklace set, where did you find it?!? It IS gorgeous and I love the idea of something you could wear everyday if you wanted to. :goodvibes My children (who am I kidding, so do I) collect pins and they LOVE to find good Stitch pins! I hope you get your ring! :thumbsup2

My only pin, on my sackbag...

Very dangerous thing pin trading...a little bit of money here and there = a lot of money before you know it. Disney really gets to me with the Stitch pins though:cutie:

I found it on ecrater.com This person was selling a lot of Disney vinatge items, but I hate how ecrater's website is designed, it is not easy to find things on that website compared to etsy or ebay. This is what you will find under "Disney vintage" in jewelry on etsy:
http://www.etsy.com/search/vintage/...ey&view_type=gallery&ship_to=US&noautofacet=1

I like the items that aren't quite so vintage. Some things made in the 50's and 60's, just aren't made all that well. Late 60's and up, jewelry seems to be better quality, especially costume jewelry.
Here is a 1950's Disney toy ring. It's plastic but a good collectors piece, but I have no interest in buying jewelry I can't wear. They can be hard to find as people buy them fast!

:welcome:Thanks for looking at my report too  I hope your family has an awesome time!

Thank you for positing the links to the jewelry, I have been admiring it all...that Dopey watch would make my youngest daughter swoon, she LOVES Dopey! I will have to check out your other links later! You are leaving around the time we will be getting settled in...but how fortunate you have January already on the horizon! :goodvibes:goodvibes

Thanks:cutie: The pin helps ward off stupid people. :rotfl: I have a huge pet peeve with stupid people, especially when they act rude and self-centered at WDW. We are all there to enjoy WDW together and should be considerate to everyone...:rotfl: It's my ward off stupid people pin. :rotfl: It's like a lucky rabbit's foot. :rotfl:

Too funny that we are there the same days. :)

Love the vintage necklaces and jewelry!

I take *royally flamed* as a compliment, especially when people assume things about my life. Don't tell someone who saw their husband and baby die in front of them that they didn't learn anything...

No one might get that, but I will wanted to just say there is one particular button you do not push with me, as I am sure everyone has that one button. ;) Tread lightly with people you've never met...I'm sure I say things and assume things too that I shouldn't. Human nature I suppose.

I'm sorry I have to be vague on certain things too, probably doesn't make for a great PTR. It's not a choice really or fun. I can't even use my real name on facebook. I know it seems weird then that I can post pics of myself, but no one is looking for my picture...Our situation causes my family to be a bit weary of strangers, on the internet or otherwise. (You can see that going over real well at WDW right! ;) ) I try to find humor in life somewhere...you know...:)

You don't have to tell us anything you don't want to. ;) This is about our love of WDW and nothing else.

Thanks, that really made me feel better.

Especially since there a little undesired drama going on now with family, but I am just going to hope for the best, I don't know what else to do.

I am also literally about to through my touring plan/guide out the window. Everyone in my family is such nights owls, I really don't know RD is attainable. I would definitely like to get my butt up because I've never been to a RD, but I worry I won't be able to get everyone else moving. If that happens, there's also nothing else I could do, and I would literally just toss the touring plan into a trash can. But if they miss anything, I can say, "Well, we didn't follow the touring plan, so..." That's what I going with:rolleyes: The parks are not open late the nights we are going.

I also just wantd to share that I literally said the word "coindependent" when talking to a group of other adults today...My blonde roots kick in now and again. I can laugh at myself. If was pretty funny cause it was said it in all seriousness, not realizing at the time how moronic I just came off. It was stellar.

I would suggest having a combo touring plan. Some early days, some later days. It's worked for me in the past. If there are certain things you know you have to be to RD to do (like TSM or Soarin'), then maybe make two of the parks RD parks. And if no one wants to go, leave them behind. :rotfl:

My DSIL:tinker: now has a herniated disc and torn muscle in her knee and she just cut a huge chunk out of one of her thumbs. I told her we really didn't need all of her in pieces. :sad2:

Did you know that there is a basketball hoop and court of sorts in the Matterhorn at DL?

I told my DFIL that, he was like, "Really, you are a walking talking Disney know-it-all". I'm actually not, but I told him I'd like to be one day. ;)
