First I want to say your living room is beautiful. I remember getting ready for graduations and all the work. But just painting made everything look so nice and clean. I love the dresser and wouldn't paint it. It's something you should live with for awhile and see if you want to change it. I also live by 3 Pier 1 stores and looked online to see if they have your curtains. If I'm looking at the right ones they don't show the cheap price you got. But I could look if you'd like me to, I just want to make sure I have the right name for them. I do think that is what I would vote for if they can be found.
Not sure if you saw my reply yesterday, but the curtains I purchased are now back to full price... Sooo... Yah - I just can't do that, not in the budget at all. Oh well, I will keep watching them and maybe I'll get them if they go on sale again?

Thanks so much for offering to get them for me - I really do appreciate it!
I love it! It looks wonderful! You guys have done a fabulous job on it! For the curtains...I think the blue look great...the brown kind of blends in with the furniture and the blue really accentuates your gorgeous patterned Pier 1 curtains. So I would go with the blue.
You're inspiring me with home projects...but since we're in a rental, that's not going to happen. I've detested the paint and carpet since we moved into this house, but since we knew we would only be here for a few years we decided to rent instead of buying. Oh, the things I would change in this house if we weren't renting. Oh well.....
Thank you so much! I am really surprised that my "vision" actually looks good. LOL The whole time, V has been telling me how awful it's going to look - and I've been telling her that it's our house, and if it looks awful - then so be it. LOL But she actually came home from school yesterday, laid down on the couch and told me how much she loves it. That really means a lot to me, because I was seriously starting to doubt myself - and even though it IS our house, the girls' opinion still means a lot to me, so I am very glad that she likes it.
I really like the blue too, but I like the quality of the brown so much more. I wish they made the brown ones in the right blue color - but the only blue color they come in, is a very aqua-like blue, and that just does not go with this room... Sigh. I'll keep looking though, because I do like the blue - I just don't like how cheap the fabric looks on these particular ones... And the fact that they are too short and look funny. LOL
I totally understand with a rental... It just doesn't make sense to pour your own $$ into it... I would totally live with what you have for now, knowing that later you'll have a house you can make your own.
Living room looks great. I don't think you need to paint the media console. You can always decide to paint if over the summer if you want.
Thank you! It was a lot of hard work on Josh's part, I didn't do much of anything, so I won't take the credit.
Yup - I am leaving the media cabinet as is, for now... I do need to swap out some hardware with the dresser that's still upstairs, and we have to fill the holes with putty... Hopefully we can find wood putty that sort of matches this dresser... And Josh has to replace the drawer areas with wood... Not sure how I am going to paint that - so there will need to be some sort of painting done to it...

Hopefully we can make it look good though.
Great job! The room looks amazing. I can't wait to see all the decorations. My votes are to keep the dresser the color it is. I really like the light color. It brightens up the room. I vote for blue curtains because it brings out the blue color in the fancy curtains. Looks great!
Thank you! I am working on decor now... I won't get anything hung until, at least, tomorrow night... but I am laying things out to see how I want them, and where I want them.
Thanks - I really like the dresser as is too... I am certain I am going to paint the lamps though - there is just too much "natural" toned color in that area now, and I think it needs more... One of my neighbors recommended doing an antique bronze spray paint, and I kind of like that idea, so I think I am going to try that this weekend?
I love the blue too - I need to find some with a quality I can live with though. I feel like I am on the never ending hunt for curtains.

LOL
Hi D! Yes I had a great weekend here at school! There was a carnival in town and my friends and I also saw My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 - it was very cute! :
The living room looks great! Both colors of the curtains look nice - I don't think you could go wrong with anything.
The color of the media console also looks great, I don't think you have to change it but you could always see how you feel in a few months!
How nice of your friends Cindy to send you all the mugs! I can't wait to see your finished product of the coffee station with all your goodies on there!
It's also great the puppies approve of the room
Oh! Before I forget again, I saw these really cute Disney shoes on the Target website. I saw the Donald pair and thought of you! There are a couple of other styles as well.
Here is the link: I hope it's allowed to stay lol
http://www.target.com/p/women-s-dis...#prodSlot=medium_1_2&term=disney+womans+shoes
Supposedly they sell these in the store too. Any stores by me don't have any style in stock. They may be in one of your Target's though!
I hope you have a great day!
That sounds like a great weekend - I want to see that movie too - it looks pretty good.
Thank you - I am really happy with how it's turning out.
Yes - thanks, I agree... I am just going to leave it as is for now... We still have work that we need to do to it... like filling the knob holes that we aren't using and I need to swap out some hardware from the dresser that's still upstairs... And probably the hardest - is putting shelves where the drawers were - and getting them to MATCH with the current dresser (or not look out of place anyways), but I am very excited about this. I am still shocked at how good it looks in that space.
I know - it was super sweet of her! I cannot wait to get them all up on display!

I started priming the cabinet last night, so hopefully soon... I just haven't decided how I am going to display the mugs on the wall... Do I want to hang them? Do I want to put them on shelves??

I just don't know?
Hehehe... I've had them in my cart for weeks - but I haven't purchased them yet... I really don't like buying shoes that I can't try on, and I haven't found these in any stores near me either. They are super cute though and I really like them! Thanks for making sure that I saw them!
Thank you - same to you!
Wow your living room looks amazing! And how rewarding it must be to have done it all yourselves! Hmmm we changed a few lightbulbs this weekend lol. But seriously, it's awesome!
Thanks! I am really soooo happy with it! LOL... I've been trying to find matching light bulbs in this house for the buffet lamps on the media console - no luck... So, I'll be out buying light bulbs this week. LOL Again - thank you - I am glad you like how it turned out, I am quite happy with it myself.
I personally love the blue curtains! For one, blue is one of my favorite colors, but also because to me the brown blends in with the couch, while the blue stands out a little more.
I know - I really like the blue too, I just need to find different blue ones, because these blue ones are really cheap looking (and they were really cheap too)... I am going to keep looking. Why do curtains have to be so hard? LOL
Love how the room turned out! So great when something like that comes to completion. I'd probably just be sitting in there and enjoying it and I agree about the dresser...leave it as is without paint!
Thanks! I am so happy with how it turned out... I am still shocked that my vision actually looks good. LOL Believe me, I've been enjoying it - much more than I should be. LOL
Thanks - that's what I think too, for now... I can always paint it later, if I decide to.
Your living room is FANTASTIC!!! so bright and cheery!!! can't wait to see your decorations! I laughed at your inability to keep a plant alive... neither can i i think you were all making fun out of my plants last time including the ones in my bathroom?
I want a big plant in my house too!!! sadly i cannot. my luck i will buy something toxic to my animals.. you KNOW they will eat it. Stevie will think it's a climbing post and well.. disaster written all over it. so i don't even bother with a fake one.
I do LOVE it and cannot wait too see the kitchen!!!
Thanks Mo - I am so happy with how it turned out! I am working on decor... I've been laying things out and trying to figure out where I want them - that's the hardest part for me.
Hahaha... Well - so far, everything is living...

I think? LOL
I totally understand - Cooper keeps trying to check out this plant... Pretty sure he's never seen one before.... LOL
Thanks - the kitchen won't change much at all, not like this did. Just a fresh coat of paint... Although one of my red walls is going to be the lighter color and not red anymore... But otherwise - it's just a "freshen up" thing in there.
Miss you - love you!!!!
Looks wonderful! I don't think the dresser screams 90's at all - it's really beautiful! I really like the brown curtains with the other curtains, I think they go well together. Great job! It looks quite lovely!
Thanks! Oh good - I didn't think so either... But it IS a 90's dresser, soooo.... LOL It very well could.
Thank you - I am just so happy that it looks good... I am always afraid that what I see in my brain won't look as good in real life - so I was really happy to see this come together so nicely.
The blue curtains add more color to the room, but if you like the brown, then you should keep them. One suggestion I have is if you need to add length to the brown curtains, how about adding a strip of the blue to the bottom. Then you wouldn't have to worry about the seam. Looks good D~!
I totally agree... I just like the quality of the brown fabric... If I could find the brown fabric in blue - I'd jump on it. I am hoping to find something though. Excellent idea Tess! I may try that!

Do you think it needs to be the same weight/type of fabric? I am feeling like it does - and I may have a difficult time finding something comparable?
Thank you Tess - I am so happy with how it's turned out!
*************************************************************************************************
Well, I went for a walk yesterday morning... It was a good walk. I was going to do my normal trek out of town, but when I walked out the door - I heard thunder, so I figured I'd just keep looping around town, so if it decided to downpour, I could duck into the house fairly easily. I am glad I did this, because I only did 4 loops before the rain got the best of me... And had I done one more round, like I was considering... I would have been soaked to the bone. But at least I got my walk in.
I was done early - so I took some time to put out some living room decor, and lay out some of my wall stuff to see how I feel about it.
I am very happy with this one... This was a deal... The frame is a custom frame that was deeply discounted, plus I had a coupon on top of it... This frame is HUGE at 23"x28"... I found the "G" at Hobby Lobby last week, and I ordered the vinyl decal off of Etsy.... I am planning to hang this on a wall that you can see when you walk through the front door.
Then, this one... I LOVE this idea, but... I am so nervous that the vinyl letters are just too big. None of my available wall space is very wide, so I am really nervous that this is just going to be too big for the only space I have available. The plan for this, is I have the girls' silhouettes from Disney... I also have Rufus' silhouette from Disney - I had it done the week after he died... Then, when V and I go down in October, I plan to get a silhouette done of MM and SC... So, the girls silhouettes will be in the big frames - as they are... and all of the doggies will be in the 5x7 frames. With the vinyl letters either on top or on the bottom... We'll see...

What do you think? Are the letters too big? Everyone on FB is telling me that they look so much smaller once they are on the wall.
I also plan on doing a "gallery wall"... but I don't have any of that laid out yet.
I did set up my bay window yesterday... I am not sure if I am keeping it like this, or not... I just threw some stuff in it... This is that one lantern that I got such a great deal on at Pier 1... Also the candle sticks...
(I know, our lawn needs to be mowed in a bad way... The lawn mower still has the snow blower attached to it, and I've been keeping Josh busy in the house... Maybe I'll give him time for this, this coming weekend?)
Then, I set up the media console yesterday morning....
And Victoria re-did it when she got home.... I definitely like her version better.
So, that's about all I have for right now... I still have a few walls I need to figure out - but these are the main ones.
Anyways - back to yesterday...
I worked all day in my sewing room - I made good progress, but I didn't finish everything I'd wanted to.
Last night, after dinner - Josh had a meeting, so I worked on priming the little cabinet to be the coffee stand.
Today - I will go for a walk again, I didn't get my office cleaned out enough... I need someone to help me carry my chest upstairs to my room - it's very heavy and quite large... Not something i can do myself. So, until that is done - I will be walking.
Then I will be in my sewing room all day.
I have a meeting tonight, which pretty much takes care of the remainder of my day.
I hope you all have a great day - sending lots of Pixie Dust out to all of you!
D~
