~~ They're leaving the nest, sew it's time for a trip - or two - or three...~~ D~'s bag ~9/22 ~~

My mother has found a really good honey mustard sauce that is very good with chicken you can find the recipe here: http://www.budgetbytes.com/2011/06/honey-mustard-chicken-strips/

It sounds like you need to get yourself a head flashlight (a flashlight you can attach on your head). Ulf and I use those when we geocache in the winter.

You should make the girls make Christmas wish lists for what they want for Christmas. My family has done this from when I was little and it's so much easier and faster to go Christmas gift shopping when you know what to buy.

The Mickey sweatshirt looks great and comfortable. I would love to have it, but as you say all the dog hair (and cat hair for me) will stick to it really fast.

Your dinner reservations for the January trip looks good even if I haven't eaten at any of these places

I hope you have a great day in your sewing room.

That does sound good... I am not sure that honey mustard would go with coconut chicken? But I bet it would be great with any other chicken... Thanks for the link. :)

I wish a head flashlight would work... But A) I am too chicken to run on the trails alone in the dark. And B) Even with a light, it's too dangerous to run on the back roads - people just drive too fast. However - I could run in town on the nicer days. I will look into it - thank you for the idea! :lovestruc

The girls did give me a short list, which is helpful... It's just that nothing really appealed to me - LOL I will figure it out, I need to do that soon though - Christmas is approaching very quickly.

I love my new Mickey sweatshirt - it's so comfy... I just lint roll myself thoroughly before I walk out the door - which by the time I get to where I am going, I am full of lint and hair again. LOL But it's warm, and I do like that.

Thanks! I am excited to try a few new places and also a few of our old favorites. It's hard to believe that we are going back so soon! I am very excited to share this time alone with Allison... When I first had this idea, years ago - I just didn't think these trips would happen, so i am surprised that I have been able to make them work. It will be a lot of fun! And very unique to each girl - I am really looking forward to it!

Those all look great. I like having breakfast and lunch reservations. It makes the rest of the day more flexible. And lunch costs less than dinner. I'm tempted to try the Wave for breakfast on one of our upcoming trips after reading your trip report.
I just love the new box that the passholder bands came in. It is very classy. I have two red bands. One of them has a white polka dot vinyl cover, which I love. I painted one of them with clear glitter nail polish and it came out amazingly cute. The band sparkles but is still the same color red. And I am getting a third red band for our June trip which I will cover with a really cute plaid vinyl Magic Band cover.

I know how much we all want our loved ones to make healthy choices. Heaven knows I've been down that same road. It is sad, but people don't always do what we want them to do, even if we are right.

You really should try it! It's delicious, and a good value - IMO. Plus, for those of us who don't have the TiW card (seriously debated on it - but I would not get my $$ back from it - so I didn't purchase) - AP holders get 10% off at The Wave. ::yes::

I love the box too - so cute! I am so excited to have a few bands now to choose from- even if 2 of them are the same color. ::yes:: Your glitter sparkle one sounds cute!

Yes - it is difficult - something I struggle with often. I just keep doing the best I can for myself, one day - I hope - they will catch on, even if only a little bit. :lovestruc

I am glad everything seemed to go pretty well with your Dad the other day. That's good he was able to get most of his shopping done.

I love doing this.

That sweatshirt is so cute! And it looks so comfy

That's great you are eating at the Wave again! I know how much you said you enjoyed it in November. I love BOG for lunch too, and I ate at Kona for breakfast for the first time this past spring, it was SO good, and very worth it! The Tonga Toast is delicious:

Adorable! It will look great for your trip in January!

Yes - I did have a good time with my dad on Friday - it's always exhausting, but it's always great to see him and spend time with him. :lovestruc

I do love that sweatshirt and I am so glad I got it... It would be fairly easy for me to do something like this to one of my other sweatshirts/fleece jackets... With all the extra time on my hands.. :scratchin LOL

I am so excited to share The Wave with Allison... and I am so excited to try out Kona for the first time - Suzi told me 3 things to try there... Tonga toast, Macadamia nut pancakes and one other... :scratchin So, Allison and I may have to order all 3 and split them? LOL I am just excited to be staying at a resort with easy access to the monorail... It will make going to these breakfasts easy (hopefully... We all know my record with the monorail...).

I am very excited to have this theme for January - it will be fun... Hopefully - for V's trip, i will have the time to make my own. :lovestruc

Hopefully you will be able to get another handicap card. Maybe you can keep it, unless there is someone else who takes him out.

I hope so... there aren't many other people who take him out... but I would definitely keep it with him and not with me, just in case. :thumbsup2

Yesterday did NOT go as planned at all...

It was a beautiful day here (for December) and I went out with the intention of going for a walk... but at the usual spot I start running, i started running. ::yes:: So, I ran... but I did throw a little bit of walking in there too. It felt good. No Garmin - just me.

20151206_103400.jpg

After - i went up to work for a little while, and then we all got ready to go to town.

We went for lunch at Chipotle... Mmmmm.... I do so love this place.

Then we hit Target - and purchased a few extra Christmas tree decorations... The girls really want a fancy tree this year - not a tree with all of their ornaments on it. Sigh... They don't understand how special those items are to me. So, I thought I would be a nice mom and indulge them for one year.

We purchased a few groceries... Got a car wash (which didn't really clean all of the wet dirt road dust/mud off of my car) and headed home to clean an organize.

V and I cleaned the whole main floor... Her boyfriend was coming for dinner - so she was extra motivated. :scratchin I will never admit to her that I took full advantage of this. LOL I also got the manger scene set up... I did not take pictures though - Allison said it looks weird? :scratchin So, I need to figure that out - whether I need to add something to it or what? I also was able to get the mantel set up.

Josh was supposed to stop and grab a tree for us yesterday on his way home from his Dad's house in ND... but he didn't. Sigh. He said he will get one tomorrow on his way home from work and we will decorate it on Wednesday night. We'll see... This is very much out of the ordinary for us - we usually cut our own tree on Thanksgiving weekend, but we didn't do that this year. So, sometime between now and then, I need to shop for a few things for our "beautifully decorated tree" this year... Let's just say - the girls and i spent a lot of time on Pinterest last night, trying to figure out exactly what that might entail. :scratchin

Today... I will be working out... And doing a bit of meal prep for the week. Trying to set myself up for success. I feel like last week was a great week for me... I finally feel my size changing again (in the right direction) - so I am incredibly motivated. :woohoo:

Then I will be upstairs all day... As I am sure you guessed - I didn't get up there for much time at all yesterday - which was NOT the plan. On a good note though - I have no appointments this week - so I have all week to work hard up there and get caught up. ::yes::

That's about all! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend - Prayers and good thoughts go out to all of you! :grouphug:

First off - THE sweatshirt I had shipped home from WDW... It arrived the week after I got home, and it's definitely my new favorite - even if it attracts all the dog hair it can find....

Hi D~,

I have that same sweatshirt. I got it a number of years ago and I love it!!! I does attract all of the dog hair, cat fuzz, kid crumbs in the house, but it is soooo cozy, that I just don't care.

Still loving reading along! Thanks for writing!

So sorry to hear that your Dad is having trouble walking and getting tired easily. I do hope they figure something out to help him. I did see that someone suggested a handicapped parking sign. Also something to consider is a transport chair. They are much lighter weight than a wheelchair and fold up very small. I have one at my house that we use for my MIL who is disabled. My Mom also has one for my Great Aunt because she has really bad arthritis in her legs and can't walk long distances. I got mine at Walgreen's I'm pretty sure it's this one:

Walgreen's Transport Chair

It only weighs 23 pounds and I have no trouble lifting ours in and out of the car. The thing is a life saver when MIL is here because we can take her places we otherwise could not.

I really don't have any suggestions for the girls for Christmas. I know at that age all I wanted was money. :rotfl: Maybe something specific for the upcoming Disney trips? Disney gift cards so they can purchase some souvenirs?

Sounds like you got some shopping done yesterday. It's good to have things crossed of the check list for Christmas.

How great that you and V got the main floor cleaned.

Crossing my fingers that Josh will get your Christmas tree on Wednesday.

I'm so glad to hear that you had a great week last week with your food and workout. I can totally understand that it got you incredibly motivated.

That's great you were able to get a run in yesterday!

Have fun with your tree!!! I hope you are able to get it soon and an decorate it! I look forward to seeing a picture.
My family and I made sure we did our tree over Thanksgiving break since I had to go back to school for most of December. It fells weird not being home for most of the "Christmas season". I will be going home a little earlier then I thought, in about a week and a half which is good. Enjoy it though.:lovestruc

Good luck working on your projects and i hope you have a great rest of the day!

Good Monday morning D! Glad to see you got a run thrown in there. You are even more motivating with your decisions to eat healthy with your hubby not on board with you. Don't let that ever sway you. Like you say, he might have a change of heart one day. I know its frustrating, but you are doing a wonderful job for yourself and your health.

We have nakey tree up in our living room. Tyler and Ariece came over pretty late yesterday and just ate with us. Hope you have a tree started Wednesday! I don't know what I would do if I had to plan a "decorated" tree. We always decorate the same way year after year with all of jumbled up ornaments that have wonderful memories.

I am having trouble with my sons and Christmas as well. Tyler keeps telling me he doesn't want anything because we are helping so much with the honeymoon, and the wedding. I keep telling that its 2 completely different animals. It is getting harder as they are older to find things for them that aren't clothes or GC's. I know its boring, but Disney GC's for your girls are good for their upcoming trips; or something to help Allison with her Europe trip. Good luck with shopping! Would your Dad still like GC's sent his way for Christmas?

Its good to see your ADR's and meal plans are coming together for January. Have you pre-planned lunches or dinners when you go to USO? I remember having a hard time finding anything to eat many, many years ago when we went, so we walked out to the City Walk and found better choices there. I know they have added on a lot since we have been there.

Good luck up in your sewing room this week! Fill us in on what all you accomplish! And good luck with working out!

Hugs and prayers. Carol

I like your Under Armor sweatshirt. It looks really comfy. We had lovely weather here and I took advantage of it yesterday, too. I usually get more exercise on my regular Monday through Friday work days then I do on the weekends. So I feel really good when I manage to get out the door on the weekends.

Then we hit Target - and purchased a few extra Christmas tree decorations... The girls really want a fancy tree this year - not a tree with all of their ornaments on it. Sigh... They don't understand how special those items are to me. So, I thought I would be a nice mom and indulge them for one year.
Oh dear, I would have trouble dealing with that one. Many of our ornaments are hand made, not only ones I have made but sisters, mom, and kids have made them. Too many memories are tied into them to leave them in a box. You are being a very good mom. (Maybe you can hang some in the back of the tree.)

Oh yay, a Chip & Dale theme! Adorable!

Don't worry, I didn't think you were preachy at all. I'm always open to opinions, advice, a swift kick in the....well you get the point. I don't have any workout buddies close by anymore and I think that's why it's so hard for me. Nothing to keep me accountable except myself and I can lie to her!

Christmas is coming along slowly at our house. We currently have the tree up but no lights or decorations are on it. Still have about half of our shopping left to do & then all the wrapping. I also have to get Christmas cards out (finally got our photo back last night) and figure out if I want to do small treat boxes this year. I'm determined to try & stay as stress free as possible this year.

Congrats on your AP magc band!!! Three trips within a year? :dogdance:

Gift suggestions for teenage daughters (what my girls asked for): Vans or Converse, monogrammed shirts and bags (this could be just a southern girl, thing...but they are all the rage right now), VB backpack. Not too much to go on, but still something.

I hope you get your tree soon!

That's awesome! Yes - it seems to attract those things more than all of my other ones... but I do agree - it's pretty cozy!

Thank you - I am glad you are still here and enjoying this PTR. :)

This is good to know - I will look into this. Thanks Ariana - it's a great idea!

Well - I know that Allison doesn't want anything Disney... For the last few trips - she hasn't even done any souvenirs at all... But this is an idea for V for sure- she is all Disney all the time. ::yes::

Sounds like you got some shopping done yesterday. It's good to have things crossed of the check list for Christmas.

How great that you and V got the main floor cleaned.

I did. ;) Too much perhaps? Lol

I hope so too... We went out last night and purchased a few more items for our "new" tree...

My food week is still going great - I had a bit of pie last night - and for the first time I entered it into my food tracking app.... WHOA!!!! Pie has a lot more calories than I would have guessed!

That's great you were able to get a run in yesterday!

Have fun with your tree!!! I hope you are able to get it soon and an decorate it! I look forward to seeing a picture.

Yes - I hope he does stop tonight... We are anxious to get our tree up - it really doesn't feel too much like Christmas yet without it. We always do our tree on Thanksgiving weekend - well, last year, I think we did it the following weekend? I can't remember now - but this is really late for us, which is kind of sad.

Thank you - you too! :lovestruc

Thank you carol - I hope he does, some day. It's tough - sometimes - but I just do the best I can. :lovestruc Because if I don't - I know exactly what will happen.

Hahaha... A nakey tree is better than no tree... Right now, I have the "tree scented" wax melts in my warming pot, but no tree to speak of... Allison came home the other night saying it was strange. LOL Too bad - at least my house smells like Christmas. lol I sure hope he stops tonight to pick it up, so we can start decorating. I have a feeling it's going to take us a LOT longer to decorate a real decorated tree. :scratchin But I am kind of excited about it.

I totally understand... I am much the same way with the girls and their upcoming trips... Yes - a little portion of them are considered "Christmas' - but not really... But the girls do understand that we are a "family on a budget" and because we get to do something big - we often have to sacrifice in other areas of life. So, even though all these trips are not Christmas gifts - they kind of end up being a little bit.

I think my dad would still enjoy GCs - but even just cards with a little note bring him such joy, and he would be immensely happy with that, as well. :lovestruc

Thank you - I am getting there. LOL I was able to get a lot done yesterday and I will be able to knock out a lot today too. Hoping to be completely caught up by the weekend.

Thanks for stopping by Carol - it's always good to see you. And hoping to catch up on email soon. :lovestruc

Thank you - Josh got us those for Christmas last year - the girls and I all have the same ones in different colors, so we coordinate. V's is currently MIA somewhere in her room though. :scratchin That's awesome - I am glad you were able to get out for a walk over the weekend - it always feels so good!

YEs - I am struggling with that too... I will pick out a few choice ornaments that we can put on the tree with sentimental value. :lovestruc I will make it work somehow.

Thanks! I am very excited about my C&D theme for this trip - it will be a lot of fun and something new for me too. I am so thankful to Monica for letting me borrow her bag!

Oh good! LOL I totally understand - I don't have anyone near me either, so I have to really stay accountable to you guys here, and in my private FB groups - that helps a lot. At some point, we just have to tell ourselves that we are doing it for ourselves, and then it doesn't really matter if we are accountable to anyone. I hope that makes sense?

Yay for making a dent in it! I barely have our Christmas shopping started... Sigh. I just don't know what to get anyone. It's going to be a tough shopping year, I guess I better get started a little bit? Otherwise, I'll have nothing for anyone. Great idea to stay stress free - I should try that sometime? LOLO

Congrats on your AP magc band!!! Three trips within a year?

Thank you - Yes, 3 trips in a year - one being done already. I am still hoping for one more, but we'll see? :scratchin It would have to be a short one, if it did happen.

I now the monogramming is a southern thing, but it's slowly coming this way. Kind of like Vera Bradely - I carried VB for many years before it finally caught on up here - only in the last 3 years or so, have they gotten really popular. So, I am sure that monogramming is on it's way in too. :scratchin Thankfully I have an embroidery machine (with no time on my hands) to make the girls something someday if they ever want it. I did sweatshirts for them last year - V wears her's all the time, and Allison has never worn her's once... LOL Figures. I am definitely debating on the VB backpack - I know V has requested it more than once, but not for Christmas - so I might end up caving on that one?

Thanks - me too! LOL Christmas will be over before I get it up, it seems. LOL

**********************************************************************************************

I had a great day yesterday... I was able to get a lot accomplished in my sewing room. I hope to be completely caught up by the weekend, which would be nice. Then V and I can spend the weekend working on Lara's stocking.

I also worked out - it was a good workout. Plus I did some heavy lifting too. :)

Then, yesterday - I was on the phone with BFF, she was at Michael's craft store... Most of their Christmas decorations were 60%-70% off on a one day sale... I was able to rearrange our schedule last night and run over there with V while Allison was at work... We picked up a few things. :scratchin My budget was $40, but I spent $50... So only a *little* over budget... We did get a ton of stuff though, so I am excited for that. I think we might stop by there again tonight - I forgot to get 2 rolls of ribbon, they might not be on as big of a sale as they were yesterday, but I think I will be OK? We'll see? As of now, I think we have everything we need for our "new tree"... or at least a good start on it.

Then we grabbed Allison from work - it was her second "interview" at the nursing home - basically they had her come in and work a shift. She LOVED it and really hopes that they call her back. We will see.

So, today - I'll be working out this morning...

Then working all day.

I have to run into town this afternoon - so I will pick up the girls from school.

We might run back to Michael's for ribbon? I am not sure about that yet? I want to try to get "crafty" and make my own tree topper... :scratchin Pinterest makes everything look so easy - I am guessing it will probably be a fail? LOL

So, that's it for today. I hope you all have a great day!!! Prayers and good thoughts go out to all of you! :grouphug:

D~

I hope Josh gets your tree soon. I put my tree up on Wednesday but didn't decorate it until Sunday. I wanted the kittens to get used to it. They played in it for a couple of days. They've left it alone since I decorated it. I didn't use any of my good ornaments, only unbreakable ones.
Work has been crazy. They let the other photo person go because of attendance. That makes me the only photo/wireless person. Luckily the electronics people do know something and can help but it's busy. The good thing is I'm getting day and mid shifts and can do stuff after work but I'd rather have help.
The Michael's sale sounds good and I'm glad you found some stuff.
Have a good day.
Liz

That's a great deal on decorations at Michaels! Glad you were able to get some goodies. Best of luck again to Allison, that's great she really enjoyed working the shift.
Enjoy the day! :)

's is currently MIA somewhere in her room though.
Glad my 2 aren't the only ones who lose stuff in their rooms.

I hope she gets the job.

Did josh come home with the tree? You have to show us pictures of your decorated tree once it is finished

Oh, can't wait to see what you and the girls have planned for the tree! Maybe you could get a smaller tree to put somewhere with your nostalgic decorations? I feel your sadness on that one. Our tree is covered in nothing but nostalgia. Each and every ornament has a story. I would be heartbroken, too. I am quite sure the feelings are mixed, though. You are, no doubt, excited that the girls are still actively excited in the festivities. And I am sure you look forward to putting together a tree they can enjoy and be proud of, too.

Sounds like you found a lot at Michael's craft store.
I think you should try to make your own tree topper. It might not be so difficult.

How great that Allison loved the shift at the nursing home. Crossing my fingers that they will call her back.

About a month ago I bought a new screen for my stationary computer. That's the computer I use every day most of the time. I haven't gotten around to change the screen until today. Everything worked fine BEFORE I changed screens. After the screen was up and running the sound wouldn't work on my computer. :scared: I get a little stressed when my computer doesn't work as it should. So I used 2 hours to try and find out how to get it to work again. I find it odd that it stopped working when I changed screen. I didn't change or touch anything else. Well after running test I got the sound back, but the buttons on my keyboard for regulating the sound suddenly didn't work. I decided to restart my computer to see if the buttons would work again and they did :yay: In the process I found out that it is time to do a back up of my computer again. It has been way to long since I did it the last time.

I hate when computers don't work the way they should. I have have an awful day with my computer. I started a PTR- but my computer was having fits. I would up having to shut it down. It took forever to turn off. When I restarted the one program I need to run would not open. I called tech support, but after waiting over a half hour i was able to get the program to connect to the database and open.

We decided to drive up to the East metro to shop - which is about an hours drive for us... When we got there, we discovered that ALL of the stores were closed (except for Walmart/Target/Cabelas)
You were about five minutes from my house!
Overall - it was a wonderful Thanksgiving and a great Black Friday!
I am so happy you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and a good Black Friday with your girls. It is so nice to have uninterrupted family time.
Once I started running - I started eating more, and I think I was eating too much.
I've heard it is common for runners to gain weight because they start eating more for fuel, not necessarily that it's a bad thing, just that it can happen. It's funny when I read all your posts about running, I think I may be doing it all wrong. It's just a part of what I do for exercise. I hate getting going, but once running, I like how it feels and the alone time. BUT, I give no thought really to what I'm wearing or how long it's been since I've had coffee, etc. and I don't track my pace. My son is the same way--just heads out the door for a run, even if he has just finished dinner. Maybe I'd do it differently if I were training for longer races or if I read a book on running? :confused3Or, maybe I'd run more if I put more thought into it? But, then again, what I like about running is that it's inexpensive and if I start reading about it, I may turn it into an expensive habit :(. I meant to ask you awhile back when you talked about the creepy guy on the trail--do you ever run with your dogs? We take our puppy for a walk/jog twice a day, but it's still hard to run with him because he's not yet able to keep a good pace. Also, he's not really a size dog that makes me feel all that secure out in the dark, and he starts crying when HE'S scared, so that's not a help with scaring off any up-to-no-good strangers.
Which is why I am just leaning towards Greek Yogert – for the most part, even though there is a lot of whey in it – I tolerate it *better* sometimes.
Have you tried Fage Greek Yogurt? I think that the plain yogurt (both 2% and 0%) is very good, and I just add a handful of blueberries or muesli to it. (I usually freeze fresh blueberries to use for this.) There aren't added ingredients and, like with most true Greek yogurt, the liquid whey is strained out of it. I like Fage better than Chobani, but Chobani is usually on sale more frequently. I can't remember if you eat nuts or not, but if you do, a handful of almonds is another way to get some quick/easy protein.
What scares me even more - is what if I hadn't stepped in when I did and stayed involved? So many of his health problems would be going unchecked right now... So it does give me a bit of peace of mind that he has a staff watching over him.
I'll keep your dad in my prayers. I feel so bad that he's having such a rough time. It seems so unfair because life should be easier as we get older. But, he's not actually old yet, which makes it even more sad to me. Yes, it makes all the difference to stay involved. We have had so many questionable experiences over the years with my MIL that we've learned to be extremely diligent and coordinated with her health care. We live closer to her than you do with your dad, which makes it easier, but it's still very hard time-wise because it means using vacation time for her many, many appts. But, we've found that she really needs someone there to advocate for her (and to remember what was said). A long time ago, we started keeping a notebook of all appts, questions, answers, tests, prescriptions, etc., which we've found helpful. I'm thinking, though, we're near the time that she will need to move in with one of us. That will add some stress, but eliminate some, as well.
So, on one hand, he is very proud of me, but every time I sit down at the table with a different meal than what the family is eating - I am met with his annoyance and (it's hard to put into words) - but he is almost angry, because he sees that extra food as extra $$ spent.
Is this just related to your current eating program or your until-this-month eating plan? If it's your overall change in eating habits, can you just feed the family the same as you're eating since it's not anything weird, it's just...well...healthy? I can't imagine cooking different meals for everyone. I think my husband would also be annoyed if we were sitting down to different meals. Unfortunately for the family (and for me :-)), for the most part, I'm in charge of grocery shopping and meals, so they eat what I cook and their dinner eating habits are dependent on me. For lunches, though, I buy different things for my husband, my daughter, and me to take with us to work/school. So, for lunch, my husband gets exactly what he requests. He also does any grilling for meals, which usually means red meat of which I'm not a big fan. It hurts his feelings if I'm not eating what he's grilled. For those meals, I've learned to eat a small portion of the meat and make sides that I'll enjoy. Maybe if you're just serving the healthy, good-for-you dinners, without having any discussion about the food, it will take your husband's focus off of it and it will just become routine?
I also need to do some Christmas shopping for the girls - I am totally STUMPED on what to get them for Christmas.
What about something fun/special for Allison's dorm room next year? Girls seem to go all out in decorating their dorm rooms.
I wanted to rehash our dinner reservations a little bit...
Yummm! It looks like you have a great plan!
She LOVED it and really hopes that they call her back.
Fingers crossed for Allison. I hope she hears something soon!

Good luck on your tree decorating. Can't wait to see what it looks like!
Congratulations on your progress and don't beat yourself up about not running. Climb some stairs at home instead for the winter. I'm sure there are some indoor activities you can do.

Liz

He picked up a tree last night - so at least we have it... It's incredibly short. :scratchin As in - barely as tall as I am. Not sure what we are going to do now? We'll live with it - but it's hard to really decorate a tree if it's 3 feet from the ceiling. LOL

Sounds like work has been very crazy for you! I hope they are able to have someone trained to help you out soon.

It was a good sale, And I was happy to have found a few things.

You too! Thank you Liz!

That's a great deal on decorations at Michaels! Glad you were able to get some goodies. Best of luck again to Allison, that's great she really enjoyed working the shift.
Enjoy the day!

It was a pretty good deal... I was just trying to fill in a few things - but I think we ended up with a lot more than we needed.

Yes - she really did. I am hopeful for her!

Thanks - you too!

Glad my 2 aren't the only ones who lose stuff in their rooms.

I hope she gets the job.

Did josh come home with the tree? You have to show us pictures of your decorated tree once it is finished

Hahahaha... All. The. Time. If a clothing item is missing in our house - the first thing we ask is if it's buried in V's room. ::yes::

I hope so too - I think it would be a great job for her.

He did - last night... It's short - very short - I am trying to get over my disappointment with that. We are going to have to set it on a box or something. :scratchin As it is barely as tall as I am - and I am not tall at all. I broke the news to him last night that I think this is our last year for a real tree... He didn't seem to be as sad about it as I thought he would be.

And I am sure you look forward to putting together a tree they can enjoy and be proud of, too.

i sure hope we can pull it off... Pinterest makes everything look easy. ::yes:: Good idea... :scratchin Maybe I can take the tree that Josh just brought home and decorate that with our well loved ornaments? Hahaha - I wish I could... We only have room for one tree in our house. But the tree he brought home is incredibly short - I don't know what we are going to do with it. I am thinking we'll have to set it on top of my stair stepper or something? It's barely as tall as I am. I am really disappointed in it actually - so I dont' know how the girls and I are going to make it work? We'll come up with something - I hope.

I did - I stopped there again last night - super quickly and purchased ribbon for a tree topper - we will see. :scratchin

I sure hope they call her back - she really did seem to love it. She definitely does not like her current job at all - she says it's way too boring. Maybe this is where she learns that most people don't like their jobs?

Yay - I am glad you were able to figure it out and get it working!!! Great job!

Ugh... I hope you were able to get yours working? Thankfully I have Josh - so I never have to call tech support - but sometimes I think that would be easier. LOL

You were about five minutes from my house!

I am so happy you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and a good Black Friday with your girls. It is so nice to have uninterrupted family time.

Fingers crossed for Allison. I hope she hears something soon!

Ha! That's awesome! We probably don't live too far from eachother then. ::yes::

Yes - I've heard that too... but then there's the "that won't happen to me" scenario. LOL And then it did. ::yes:: So, I am working on that. I wish I could just "go for a run"... And maybe one day I will? But I agree - there are too many gadgets and gizmos sometimes, and it would be much nicer just to go. Which is why - sometimes I prefer to walk, just because I don't feel the pressure to have so much with me, I can just go.

I have tried Fage... As far as what the yogerts do to my digestive system, they are both the same - I have issues with both - I am certain I have a whey intolerance. I do alternate between the brands though - which ever is on sale. I do sometimes add nuts and berries too - depending on my mood. :)

Thank you! :) I appreciate your prayers greatly. :lovestruc I am just dealing with a lot of guilt right now, because I cannot be there as often as I promised I would be and I feel like he is lonely because of me. I am just really struggling with that. I hope that once the girls are off on their own - I will have more time and more ability to be there for him more often... It's just hard when I feel like I am being pulled in several directions - I sometimes just shut down and avoid it all. i need to be better about that and work on it harder.

No - this issue has been all along... It's like swimming upstream most of the time. On one hand, he seems proud of me, but on the other - it drives him crazy that I eat different things. Most nights, I am able to coordinate our meals so that we are eating mostly the same things... but some nights I just can't. I normally don't make 2 different meals - I just always prepare myself a batch of food on Monday mornings, so if the family is eating something I can't - I just warm up whatever it is that I've made. Usually - it's a big batch of chicken, or meat of some sort, then I just throw a bag of steamed veggies with it... Nothing exciting or labor intensive - but filling and good for me. :thumbsup2 And normally I can make almost anything work for me - unless we have hotdish or pasta - because of the noodles. :)

YeS _ I was thinking something like that too, i just haven't found anything and I am running out of time quickly. I am usually done shopping for the girls in October - so this is a totally new experience for me.

I hope she gets a call back too - I think this would be a great job for her. Some of the stories she was telling us already were just a riot... I think it would be a great fit for her. So, we will see.

Thanks for stopping by - it's always great to see you here! :)

Good luck on your tree decorating. Can't wait to see what it looks like!
Congratulations on your progress and don't beat yourself up about not running. Climb some stairs at home instead for the winter. I'm sure there are some indoor activities you can do.

Thanks - me too... It's really short - so I don't know how we are going to make it taller? :scratchin It's going to be an interesting tree this year, for sure... i'll have to sit on the floor and take pictures, so it doesn't look so short. LOL

Thanks! I am feeling a bit of guilt about it - a lot actually... I don't do well with failure - if ya can't tell. LOL But I am working through it and doing the best I can for the winter. :thumbsup2

***********************************************************************************************

OK - so yesterday - it was a pretty good day... I have a few good stories for you all.

First of all - I worked out really early and got that out of the way (which I need to do now too)...

Then i ran to Target very quickly - which led to me driving to another Target about 30 min away... I'll explain below in my January trip update.

I came home and I worked the remainder of the morning/afternoon.

Then I picked V up from school - we went to Bff's for dinner and then to our meeting...

Upon arriving at our meeting - I got out of the car, and went around to V's side to help her grab her stuff... As I walked around - I noticed a clump of something on the ground - it was dark and had been driven on many, many, many times. I was just joking when I asked V if that was her missing shirt she's been looking for all week. She looked at me funny - I didn't expect her to pick this wet, nasty, driven on thing up to look - but she did. And it was her shirt. ROFL! Last week - Bff had given her shirt back to her - she must have had it on her lap in the car, and when we got there for our meeting, she must have forgotten about it and so when she got out of the car, it fell out. And there is stayed all week. LOL We thought it was a super funny story - seeing as this is one of her favorite shirts, and it has been missing for the whole week. So, guess what went in the wash first thing last night? LOL She’ll probably wear it to school today? So, if you are missing clothes – check the parking lots of places you’ve been. :scratchin

Anyways… We came home – Josh had our tree sitting out… It’s short. Incredibly short. I am super disappointed in this… It’s very possible that it’s shorter than I am and the top is very bare… I am not sure how we are going to decorate it? First – I think we are going to have to put it on a box – I have my step aerobics box I think we could put it on and cover it with a sheet or something? :scratchin But I have no idea how we are going to make the top work. Breathe D~… Be happy you have a tree. It will work out – and it will be nice – even if it is short, and not full at all. Sigh. I am thinking this is our last year for a real tree anyways – I was just hoping it would be a nice one. Oh well. It’s not about the tree or the beauty of it – it’s about family and togetherness and enjoying the holiday season. :lovestruc

That’s all… Today – I work at Target in the morning… I am off early and coming right home to work in my sewing room for the remainder of the day. I have a bunch of stuff that needs to be finished and started today.

OK – January trip update….

Target is having a gift card promotion this week… Buy 2 $25 Disney GCs and get a $5 Target GC. So, for every $250 in Disney GCs you buy, you can turn around and buy another $25 Disney GC with the Target GCs you just got. Like saving 10% if you plan it right and so it in $500 increments, you can still be earning Target GCs when you are buying your "free" gcs. Make sense? On top of that... Save 5% when you use your Target debit card. Now... I'll need to spend some time over the next few weeks combining them. They also have this promo on the $50 Disney GCs... But the $25s are the better deal. This promo couldn't have come at a better time. Btw... You can use Disney GCs to pay for everything in WDW... Resort... Food... Tickets… Just in case you didn’t know – if you’ve followed my TRs/PTRs for a long time – you know that this is how I pay for all of my WDW trips, so I can save $$ wherever I can. :thumbsup2

Soooo… I was able to purchase enough to pay for the Disney portion of the food for this trip. Remember – we are staying at Shades of Green, so our resort will be paid for with cash. Our tickets are already paid for. So, we just needed food $$. With my Target GC earnings, I was able to turn around and purchase an extra $100 in Disney GCs – so that was nice. It was almost like having my 10% Team Member discount back on the GCs. ::yes:: A little more of a pain – since I have all of these $25 GCs to combine now…. But worth the hassle, I think. ::yes::

20151208_093646.jpg

Oh and I ordered fabric yesterday for a small project I want to work on for the January trip too... It's a very small project - something I think I can have done in only a few hours... but it's something I really wanted for this last trip -and I couldn't find it... And something I really wanted for this trip, and I still couldn't find it... So, when all else fails, make it. Right? LOL We'll see... It may end up being a flop?

We are getting closer now… Only a few things left to pay for. ::yes::

I hope you all have a wonderful day!!! Prayers and good thoughts go out to everyone! :grouphug:

D~

Nice deal and the Disney GC I should look into that assuming you can use them at DL since that's where my next trip is.

So we have the exact opposite Christmas tree problem! We wanted a smaller one this year since DD is 17 months and it's going in the playroom (bad idea but DH is insistent). Anyway we went and got one and it looked a little big but nothing crazy, we had him take off the top branch cause it was really high..... Thank goodness since it almost hits the ceiling!!

So much for our small tree o_O
