~~ They're leaving the nest, sew it's time for a trip - or two - or three...~~ D~'s bag ~9/22 ~~

I am pretty sure I'll have it narrowed down better than that... Depending on the bus and how many DVC stops it has? Because I do know we are staying at a DVC resort - unless Suzi changed it on me again? LOL
It's not a guarantee since BCV and BWV are on the same route, VWL, BLT, VGF and Poly villas are on one bus route and OKW and Saratoga Springs are on one bus route. ;)

I passed a creepy guy (he was oncoming on the other side of the path)... I watched him out of the corner of my eye until he had passed me - then I kept checking behind me to make sure he wasn't coming back. You know, how when you see someone and you say to yourself "that person doesn't fit right here..." - the hair stood up on the back of my neck and I was hyper aware of my surroundings.
You were right to alter your route. I've done that, too. And I don't like to run in the dark.

After I came home from my run.... I told Josh about my experience... He didn't seem too concerned. :scratchin Hmph!
My DH is always worried about me. I usually don't tell him scary stories like that because then he won't let me run.

Congrats on flights! I haven't flown AA in a long time, however for the right price and time I would fly them or just about any other airline!

Nov and Jan shaping up! I am excited to see where you are staying too!

I know - I am so relieved to finally have flights! Now I am afraid to look, in case I find a better deal or better times. ::yes::
Oh gosh yes, I know the feeling. I have done that before, booked flights and then they go down months later - that's the funny thing with flight, the rates can always be fluctuating!
I need to go check in to your thread... Your race is coming quickly, so I am sure you leave soon. :woohoo:
LOL I think you may be talking about the wrong person! Gosh I wish I was going to Disney soon/doing a Disney race, but nope! :rotfl2:

I did update my TR a little if you want to take a peek haha!
You know, how when you see someone and you say to yourself "that person doesn't fit right here..." - the hair stood up on the back of my neck and I was hyper aware of my surroundings.
So... I think it's time I get some sort of protection device to carry with me when I am running. And I will NOT be running this particular path for a long time - if I do, I will stay in the "town portion" of it, and not run the out n' back route. I was uneasy all day yesterday about my experience, and even as I was trying to fall to sleep - it still bothered me.
Oh my gosh. That is scary. I know the exact same feeling. It's especially scary when your alone and at a place where a lot of people aren't there. I am so glad you are ok and that creepy guy didn't come any closer to you.
Anyways... Yesterday's run selfie... I am pretty proud that I did 6 miles. :woohoo: And I can thank the creepy guy for my PR pace on a long run.
That is awesome! 6 miles is great! :)
Josh made ahhhh-mazing steaks for dinner last night... They were soooo good!
Yummy, that sounds great.
I found this picture last night on FB... And it totally cracked me up... This is SOOOOO V... She needs one in every color! LOL

That is hysterical, love it.
November trip

I need to go through my suitcase... As I've been picking up items, I've been adding them, and now I fear my luggage is getting too heavy. So, I need to thin it out a bit.
I talked to Suzi last night too... At some point, we are going to head over to SoG during our trip, so I can purchase Allison's Military Salute ticket in person... That way I can add the #s to MDE and do our FPs at the 30 day mark in December. It will just make life much easier in the end, I think. And Suzi has always wanted to see SoG - so she will get the chance. :thumbsup2
This trip is approaching so fast - and I am getting so excited to share this time with my Dis friends!
Gosh I know the feeling of overpacking - I always do it. That's great! Another thing to check off your list for the January trip. Is there a bus that goes to SoG? I can't remember.
And we are so excited to hear about this exciting time! :goodvibes

I hope you all had a nice weekend and have a great day! Prayers and good thoughts go out to all of you! :grouphug:
Thank you, enjoy this beautiful day as well! :goodvibes

Your MB turned out great -- love it! As for the creeper guy on your run...always, always, always trust your instincts! A friend of mine lost her sister in a situation where she was out running some wooded trails alone and she was murdered. So PLEASE be careful and trust your instincts!!! Please!

SO excited that you found airfare for the price you wanted! Yea! I've flown American a few times....they're not bad.

Hey D, I just wanted to stop in and say hi and that I hope to eventually get somewhat caught up, lol.

Lara is precious, there really is nothing like a new life coming into the world.

Jonah is going to be Jake for Halloween, my husband's Facebook is where we usually post the pictures. Can I send you a request from there?

Your magic band looks great.
You should be proud of yourself for how hard you've worked with your weight loss. I know how frustrating it can feel when you plateau. There are many great tips online on how to over come a plateau. If you try a different route and you are still at your plateau then try a new goal not related to weight.
The guy on your running path was creepy. Trust your instinct and carry pepper spray just in case.

This is good to know Jennifer. Thanks!

BTW... I know I said it on FB, but I wanted to say it here too - CONGRATULATIONS on your teacher of the year award!!!!! That is just amazing! I am so proud of you! And it couldn't have gone to a more deserving person! :woohoo:

D~

:flower3:

Awwwww thanks!! It was a huge SHOCK to me. Of course, I reacted appropriately and cried! :sad:

I got voted in for best reaction as well :rolleyes1

D!

I feel like it's been ages since I posted but I'm finally caught up with your PTR! Firstly, I'm so sorry for the recent losses in your family. I lost my grandmother in August and it was one of the hardest things I've ever gone through. She actually went to Disney World with us back in May and that's a memory I'll never forget. :flower3:

Also, I'm SO happy that you're running! I've been running for about two years now and I'm signed up to run the WDW Half Marathon in January (on my birthday!). I'm hoping it'll be the first of many RunDisney races!

I'm glad to see you and the family are doing well! I've been following your Facebook page for the bags and love seeing all your designs.

Lissette

PS I'm also "hardheadedwoman" on FB and Instagram and love keeping up with fellow runners :yay:

Your run sounds like a scary experience. I'm glad your day was fantastic despite of the creepy person on the trail.

I don't think I got any food allergy while in USA because this stomach thing has been going on for a very long time. Last December when I was in London, UK for a week I experienced the same thing. My stomach not god for months before I went to London. The week I was in London my stomach was fine and as soon as I came back home the diarrhea was back. After the trip to London I've tried to figure out what food the stomach is reacting on. I've found a few things but not enough to get my stomach back to normal. After 6 weeks in the USA I decided that enough is enough. Now it's time to find out what food makes the problem. I suspect too much fiber is the problem since fast food with little fiber is no problem for me to eat. I heard about FODMAP (low fiber diet) in December 2014. Already back then I tried to figure out what my stomach can handle and not handle. Then there was a period where I didn't bother to try and figure this out. But when I experienced that my stomach was fine for 6 weeks in the USA I got a new energy to try and figure all this out. Since all the tests came back normal from the doctor, I don't think I'm allergic to anything.

Thanks Lillian! It was a great day - I am less creeped out now, and I've decided that I need to run in more populated areas. ::yes::

I am glad you are trying to figure this out, it's been going on for far too long to ignore anymore. :hug:

I have been eating whole 30 at home since i did my original whole55 days, till very recently. Last night was the first time since before January that we had ravioli for dinner. I'm trying to figure out if it is the cheese ( i ate a lot of cheese this weekend- first time i had cheese in the house this year) or the wheat flour but my stomach is not happy with me.

That is a smart plan to get Allison's ticket and show Suzi SoG.

I just learned this morning if you highlight part of a message, it lets you quote just that part of the message. Am I the only one who did not know that?

It was probably a little of both... I am seriously considering going back to W30 - esp for the time between trips... I have something like 60 days between trips - including TG and Christmas - it would probably be a good way for me to get through the holidays again. ::yes:: I need to find a good way to get bulk coleslaw - that is one staple from my W30 that has continued through my life - and I love ghee, but I am too lazy to make it a lot of the time - so I need to make that in bulk too. OK - I am almost convinced...

I was thinking that too... And I think Suzi/Bradey would enjoy seeing the resort... There's not much to do there if you aren't staying there, but it's beautiful, and we could check out the shops - I remember them having quite a bit of Disney merchandise tax free and reasonably priced. :thumbsup2

Hmmm.... :scratchin I did not know that. I do my replies to darn early in the morning - LOL - I am lucky if I don't confuse anyone. ::yes:: But maybe I'll try it sometime?

It's not a guarantee since BCV and BWV are on the same route, VWL, BLT, VGF and Poly villas are on one bus route and OKW and Saratoga Springs are on one bus route.

You were right to alter your route. I've done that, too. And I don't like to run in the dark.

My DH is always worried about me. I usually don't tell him scary stories like that because then he won't let me run.

OK - OK... But I'll at least have an idea. :D I think you are missing a few examples up there. ::yes::

Yah - it wasn't a good experience... The more I think about it - I wonder if the guy isn't living out there on the trail somewhere? The time I was gone would have been enough time for him to walk into town and then back to where he ducked off... :scratchin Regardless - I will not be running that trail again anytime soon... And definitely not without pepper spray.

I am pretty sure I "lightened" the experience when I told Josh about it - I think he would go bonkers if he knew how scared I truly was. However - sometimes I am incredibly over sensitive too - so that may have been another reason he wasn't too concerned?

Congrats on flights! I haven't flown AA in a long time, however for the right price and time I would fly them or just about any other airline!

Nov and Jan shaping up! I am excited to see where you are staying too!

Thanks!!! I am happy to have the flights - but now I have to pay baggage fees both ways too.... One more thing to add to the budget, I guess... :scratchin I really wanted to fly SW for this trip.

I know - I am so excited - I leave in a little over 2 weeks!!!! I am totally packed now.... I just have to wash (and wear) my favorite denim capris a few more times - LOL - I am planning to wear them on the flight that morning - so at least I know I won't forget them. ::yes:: And then I have all of my last minute - morning of leaving - packing to do yet... Hair spray - make up - that sort of thing. SUPER EXCITED though!!! :woohoo:

Oh gosh yes, I know the feeling. I have done that before, booked flights and then they go down months later - that's the funny thing with flight, the rates can always be fluctuating!

LOL I think you may be talking about the wrong person! Gosh I wish I was going to Disney soon/doing a Disney race, but nope!

And we are so excited to hear about this exciting time!

Thank you, enjoy this beautiful day as well!

I know!!! I just can't look now... I have to tell myself that "I got the best deal ever" and the "best flight I could get" - even though I didn't... and leave it at that. LOL Sometimes we must lie to ourselves to cope. LOL ::yes::

Oh Alison - I am such a dork... I cannot believe I did that to you. :hug: I knew I was talking to you when I was writing too - but my mind trailed off to Huggybuf and I remembered that she is doing Wine N' Dine next week... I am so sorry that I confused you two. I think I've done it before too? My sincerest apologies. :lovestruc

Hahaha... OK - I'll go check out your new TR title. :thumbsup2

Thanks! That 6 miles was tough - it was fine until the very end - the final half mile... I am hoping for another 6 miles this weekend (on a different trail, in a different town, in a different county ::yes::) and hopefully the end will go better for me, since hopefully I won't have to alter my pace due to creepy people.

I know! I keep going back to that picture... It's soooo Victoria, I cannot even get over it.

Hmmm... A bus to SoG? As in, from the airport to SoG? Or from SoG to the parks? From the airport to SoG, there isn't a bus - sadly - no ME... So, Allison and I are getting a town car to pick us up at the airport and bring us to SoG - the same service will bring us the opposite direction too. There are busses that go from SoG to all of the parks - they are on a definite schedule, and run approx hourly - which is good in some ways, because we always know ahead of time when there will be a bus. However - they don't pick up at the regular Disney bus stops at the parks - they usually are in a different location - in a different direction. So, in most cases, we will use Poly transportation to/from the parks, because it's easier to find. ::yes::

Thanks - I did - same to you! :)

Thanks!

Oh good Lord! That is awful!!! And scary. I very sad reality. I will be very careful from now on. Thank you for letting me know.

I did... I am so relieved I found airfare - I was starting to get so nervous about it. They are going to be long travel days for us, but thankfully our long layover is at the beginning of our trip, because at the end, I am sure we will just want to get home. :thumbsup2

Hey D, I just wanted to stop in and say hi and that I hope to eventually get somewhat caught up, lol.

Hi Ashley!!! I am so happy to see you here! I was trying to PM you the other day to check on you and I couldn't find you anywhere! I am glad to see you and hope that all is well! :lovestruc

Thank you - we are so excited to have a neice and a nephew to spoil! :woohoo:

I saw that on FB yesterday - he has grown so much! He is so adorable! Thanks for sending the friend request - I've missed ya! :hug:

You are right - I really should look into other options and ways to overcome a plateau... :scratchin I will do that today and see if anything jumps out at me. :thumbsup2 Hopefully I can find something that my body will cooperate with?

My next running investment will be pepper spray, for sure! Thanks!

Awwwww thanks!! It was a huge SHOCK to me. Of course, I reacted appropriately and cried!

Hello there!!!! It's great to see you back!!!

Thank you. I am sorry for your loss, as well. I am happy that you had those great memories with your grandmother though.

Congratulations on your first RunDisney event! Are you excited? How is training going? I'd love to do the Jan marathon sometime - but I am a little nervous about running in the winter - and I worry that being forced to train in those conditions and doing a marathon in Jan will be hard? But I guess many people do it, so it must not be that difficult. I guess - since I am hoping to do the Princess Half in Feb of 2017, I'll have the same battle (but worse) to overcome. You'll do great though - I am so excited for you!

I'll be searching you out on FB and Instagram... I've been a lot more active on Instagram lately, now that I've figured out how to use it. ::yes::

Thanks for stopping by - it's good to see you and to catch up with you! :hug:

************************************************************************************************

I worked out yesterday... I did T25 Alpha... I find it's a good work out, but I have a hard time with the twisting lunges... My knees don't like them. But I am definitely sweaty after. Here's my non-running "sweaty selfie" from yesterday... Now you guys get to see how awful I look with "wake-up" hair and after working out... It's not pretty. LOL Hopefully you all don't stop reading my TRs after seeing this photo. LOL

20151026_083226.jpg

After I worked out... I made up a dozen + of boiled eggs to keep in the fridge this week. I also fried up some chicken to throw in salads and to eat with veggies this week. It just makes life easier - I try to do that on Mondays.

Then, I was upstairs for the remainder of the day... I was able to get 2 entire bags quilted and partially assembled. :woohoo: I had them cut out and ready to quilt on Sunday - so I was a step ahead this week. Go me!

I made Sweedish meatballs for dinner last night... It was a new recipe and I think it's a keeper recipe - the family loved them. ::yes::

Gus made Allison the sweetest video on FB last night - I wish I could figure out how to share it with you all... it was so adorable! Oooh - he has it set as public, so I think any of you can see it, if you want to go look... It's about 3 min long, and it's just adorable. :lovestruc It's so fun to see how much they have grown and changed over these last couple of years. And truly - Gus has become like one of my own kids in this time, I love seeing how much he loves her.

~~~~~~~~Gus' video for Allison~~~~~~~~
Today, it's a Target day... I will have to bring a change of clothes with me to work, as V has an appointment this afternoon... I'll be lucky if I make it home before bed time.
More trip updates...
It's official - I am totally packed! :woohoo: We leave in just a little over 2 weeks, and I cannot wait! It's coming so quickly!
I organized my luggage again yesterday.... I pulled out a few items... I added a few more. I think I will be OK. :scratchin I still have to add all of my last minute items the morning I leave - otherwise everything else is in there. :woohoo:
20151026_121312.jpg
I hope you all have an amazing day!!! Prayers and good thoughts go out to all of you! :grouphug:
D~
Sounds like a good idea to run in more populated areas.
Sounds like you got a lot done yesterday :woohoo:
The video Gus made is so sweet. :lovestruc
I can't believe you are totally packed for your trip already. Did everything you wanted to take with you fit or did you have to leave something behind because of high weight?
I hope you have a great day at Target :)
Yesterday around 2pm it was wet snow coming down from the sky. There were no snow on the ground where I live. I had to go to down town and on the way I drive over the Tromsø island. At the highest point it's about 3ft above sea level. I didn't have to drive that far up until there were snow on the lawns. In down town (the same sea level as I live at) there were no snow.
After I had done what I needed to do down town I drove to my parents who live at the highest point on the Tromsø island that you can drive to by car. Again it was snow on the lawns but the roads was snow free. Then around 6pm it started snowing. I was still at my parents house. My mother was a little mad at my father who had gone on a business trip and won't be back until late Tuesday evening (today) didn't change the tires on their car before he left. My mother had told him to change them the whole weekend, but he refused and said he wanted to do it as late as possible even when they don't have studded tires.
Luckily I had set my engine and interior heater to start 1\2 hour before I planned to go home. When I went back home it was a little snow in the air and now it was white snow everywhere, even on the road.
Today it's still snowing and it has been chaos on the roads. Trailers and buses has had trouble getting up the bridge going from Tromsø island to the mainland and cars have problems in the worst hill (Langnesbakken) on Tromsø island. I called my mom to ask if she needed me to go to the grocery store to buy something for dinner today since she can't drive the car without winter tires. She said she was ok and that she didn't need anything at the grocery store. I'm going outside later with the car. I don't think I will have any problems since I have my winter tires on AND I have 4WD.
I know!!! I just can't look now... I have to tell myself that "I got the best deal ever" and the "best flight I could get" - even though I didn't... and leave it at that. LOL Sometimes we must lie to ourselves to cope. LOL ::yes::
You said it perfectly lol!
I cannot believe I did that to you. :hug: I knew I was talking to you when I was writing too - but my mind trailed off to Huggybuf and I remembered that she is doing Wine N' Dine next week... My goodness. I just watched the video. It was so sweet! Allison and Gus are such a beautiful couple, and they look lucky to have each other. Also, it's so cool that Gus knows sign language, I thought that was such a great way to start the video!
It's official - I am totally packed! :woohoo: We leave in just a little over 2 weeks, and I cannot wait! It's coming so quickly!
Looks great, now you just have to go!:thumbsup2
Your run sounds really scary. I used to walk all over my town and tried to go a different way each time. Luckily there are no wooded areas in town and I'm with someone when I'm in those areas.
Congrats on getting airfare even though it's higher than you planned for. I'm glad that the military ticket prices were released. I usually get my tickets trough work. They've had a deal the last couple years where you pay for 4 days and get 3 for free.
Hopefully you can figure out why you can't lose weight. Some of it may be muscle, though.
Have a good day.
Liz
Hey D,
Congrats on getting your flights!!! And.....being packed!!! So excited for you! Your running experience sounds scary. Do you carry mace in your Spibelt? It will fit with your phone. A lot of running stores have made too. My daughter created an Instagram account for me and I still don't get it!!
Have a great day!!!
I'm in awe of your packing job!:worship: It must be so exciting not knowing where you're going to stay. I don't know how you can contain your excitement. Disney with Christmas decorations sounds magical. I can't wait to see all your pictures!
I went to the post office to pick up the Pooh bag I won on your last auction. The bag looks amazing :lovestruc It's so much nicer in real life than in the photos on facebook. I'm in love :lovestruc I love the colors and the fabric inside the bag. It was a lovely surprise to see the bag in real life. You have done an amazing job with the bag. The colors and the inside fabric matches the theme of the bag perfect :lovestruc
Thank you! Training is going really well so far but it's only October so the temps haven't reached any crazy lows! I live in NJ but I'm from FL so this will all be new to me. LOL I started training around June with the Jeff Galloway Run/Walk method (I use the app for iPhone) and it's amazing - I'm up to 9 miles and I can't believe I'm not winded by the end of my long runs. My goal is basically to not get swept during my Half! Listening to Disney music/podcasts during my run and picturing running through the Castle get me pumped up!
Ooooh the Princess! I definitely want to run that one! In fact, I was telling my friend the other night how I'd love to do the Glass Slipper Challenge! To be honest, the part that sounds worst about that challenge is waking up early three mornings in a row...
Now to more important things.... what are you thinking for costumes?! I have a few in mind that I'm excited about. :dogdance:
Yes , I do need to start running in more populated areas... I just really like these trails so much - then I don't have to worry about cars... But I guess I'd rather worry about cars than creepy men. ;)
I Know - I loved that video - he did a great job on it, and it was so sweet. :lovestruc
No, I didn't really pull anything out yet... I haven't really weighed anything for sure - but I do have a bag of "extra" clothes... Extra shorts and tees for when I don't feel like dressing up (which normally doesn't happen at WDW)... So, if anything has to go - it will be stuff from that bag.
I saw your pictures on FB yesterday - It's hard to believe you have snow already - but you typically get it earlier than we do. ::yes:: I am glad Ulf was able to get your tires on and you were able to help your mom out if she needed it. You are such a good daughter - I hope my girls are that nice to me one day.
You said it perfectly lol!
It's no problem! Don't worry about it!!!
Ah ok. Yes I meat a bus to the parks, but that would make sense that they would have them because it is a Disney resort lol. Good idea for using the Poly though!
That's awesome! It always feels good to get more work done then you planned.
Yummy, sounds great.
My goodness. I just watched the video. It was so sweet! Allison and Gus are such a beautiful couple, and they look lucky to have each other. Also, it's so cool that Gus knows sign language, I thought that was such a great way to start the video!
Awesome! I always feel that once I'm packed, the trip really starts to feel real!
Looks great, now you just have to go!:
Sometimes I like the thought of the SoG busses better... It's just easier to plan... They only leave the resort/parks once per hour - but at least a person can plan when they are leaving and know when a bus is coming - which is helpful, IMO.
Yah - Gus did a great job on the video... He is such a nice kid and he adores Allison so much. Most of the time, they are cute together - they kind of compliment one another, which is good. I always hoped they would stay together, but I wasn't sure that they would - I am still not so sure... but we'll see. ;)
Yes - I am getting so excited!!!! I started to get nervous for my flight yesterday - which I always do, especially when I am flying alone. I just tell myself "no one ever goes down to/from Disney"... LOL
I Know... The only sad part about "going" is having to come back. Sigh. I hate the Disney blues...
Your run sounds really scary. I used to walk all over my town and tried to go a different way each time. Luckily there are no wooded areas in town and I'm with someone when I'm in those areas.
Congrats on getting airfare even though it's higher than you planned for. I'm glad that the military ticket prices were released. I usually get my tickets trough work. They've had a deal the last couple years where you pay for 4 days and get 3 for free.
Hopefully you can figure out why you can't lose weight. Some of it may be muscle, though.
Have a good day.
Liz
Yah - that run did scare me a lot... That trail is out of my life until spring for sure. It sounds like you have pretty safe areas to walk, which is good.
Thanks!!! I am a little nervous about that particular trip - I really hate that we have a layover both down and back. We did it on our 2008 trip, and it wasn't horrible... but I'd still prefer a direct flight down. Oh well, we are going, and that's what counts.
That's an awesome deal on tickets!!! I wish we could qualify for something like that - I would just be nice if the military ticket was a 5 day ticket rather than 4... Oh well - I am happy we can get what we can get. :thumbsup2
Thanks Liz! You too!
Hey D,
Congrats on getting your flights!!! And.....being packed!!! So excited for you! Your running experience sounds scary. Do you carry mace in your Spibelt? It will fit with your phone. A lot of running stores have made too. My daughter created an Instagram account for me and I still don't get it!!
Have a great day!!!
Hi there!!!
Thanks - I am a bit nervous that we don't have direct flights on either trip, but oh well... It will give us enough time in the airport on the way down to have a good breakfast. :thumbsup2
It was pretty scary... I do not carry mace - but I have some on order now, it should be here in a few days. It's a bummer that I have to, but I don't want a repeat.
Hahaha... I am still learning on Instagram... I have like 10 followers... LOL But it's all good.
I'm in awe of your packing job! It must be so exciting not knowing where you're going to stay. I don't know how you can contain your excitement. Disney with Christmas decorations sounds magical. I can't wait to see all your pictures!
Thanks!!! It helps that i have all of my headbands in a box - so then they are neatly contained and protected from being crushed. And the ziploc bags helped a lot too. :thumbsup2
I am super excited to not know where I am staying... I feel like a kid! Suzi spoiled me... Now I am going to want to be surprised for every trip I go on - so I will need to find a planner. LOL
I am so excited to experience Christmas in Disney - I LOVE Christmas, so this is going to be fantastic! I've never been there at this time of year - I've been for Halloween twice, and it was phenomenal - I cannot imagine what Christmas is going to be like? :woohoo:
I am excited to see them too... I am glad that Suzi is sort-of a dresser-upper too... It will be fun to have someone to have fun with. LOL Poor Bradey... Hopefully he doesn't embarrass easily? LOL
I went to the post office to pick up the bag . The bag looks amazing It's so much nicer in real life. I'm in love I love the colors and the fabric inside the bag. It was a lovely surprise to see the bag in real life. You have done an amazing job with the bag. The colors and the inside fabric matches the theme of the bag perfect
Yay! :woohoo: I am glad you got it and you like it.
Thank you! Training is going really well so far but it's only October so the temps haven't reached any crazy lows! I live in NJ but I'm from FL so this will all be new to me. LOL I started training around June with the Jeff Galloway Run/Walk method (I use the app for iPhone) and it's amazing - I'm up to 9 miles and I can't believe I'm not winded by the end of my long runs. My goal is basically to not get swept during my Half! Listening to Disney music/podcasts during my run and picturing running through the Castle get me pumped up!
Ooooh the Princess! I definitely want to run that one! In fact, I was telling my friend the other night how I'd love to do the Glass Slipper Challenge! To be honest, the part that sounds worst about that challenge is waking up early three mornings in a row...
Now to more important things.... what are you thinking for costumes?! I have a few in mind that I'm excited about.
It sounds like it's going great for you though - it will be different, but it's going to be so much fun!!! That is awesome that you are up to 9 miles!!! :woohoo: WTG!!!! That is my goal too - or my eventual goal... I want to have a pace where I can stop and enjoy the fun, but not get swept... I'd love to have a 12 min pace. I'll get there eventually - I still have another year +. But I am so proud of you!
I am the same way!!! I don't listen to music, but I do listen to podcasts on my runs.... it let's me focus on my actual running - yet I feel like I am having a conversation with someone. It's really nice and something I do look forward to. ::yes::
Eeeep!!! Not sure about the glass slipper challenge for me? LOL I would just be thrilled to do a half-marathon... Not sure I could do any of the challenges? I think I would be terrified? Maybe my 2nd time around? Who knows, maybe I'll feel differently in the spring? LOL But that would be super awesome if you did that! :woohoo:
For running costumes??? I am not sure yet... I k now I will be wearing a Sparkle Skirt though... I only own one at the moment (solid red) - but I do have every intention of getting more. ::yes:: I love running in mine, and I feel like it's so flattering. I am half tempted to wear it on our MVMCP night, because it would go so cute with that outfit too. :scratchin But at $70 each... I am very cautious about which ones I have on my list to order - because I want to be able to wear them with as much stuff as I can. On my wishlist is a solid white one and a solid royal blue one... Possibly the black one with the red dotted shorts under it... The Sparkle Skirts group I belong to on FB is very much an enabling thing - so I try to not look there as much as possible. LOL
So, if I run the Princess - do I *have* to dress up as a princess? What if I want to be a different non-princess Disney character? Is that allowed? LOL I don't want to be the only non-princess out there, and there are only so many princesses to choose from, I feel like they've all been done and redone a million times over. :scratchin
So what are your costume plans??? I'd love to hear yours too. ::yes::
******************************************************************************************************
Yesterday was pretty crazy here!
I had every intention of doing my heavy lifting... And I was able to get my dead lifts done, but then I ran out of time and had to get ready for work. I am pretty disappointed in myself over this.
I worked at Target yesterday - it was a good day, and it went by quickly.
Last night - I had an appointment... So, I didn't get home until almost bed time... It was a long day.
So today.... I am off in my sewing room again...
Allison, BFF and I are headed to see a college that Allison is interested in. It's 3 hours away - so a lot of driving for us today. Sigh.
I plan to work out this morning. I was going to run this morning too... but I don't think that's happening? I am pretty disappointed in myself for that, but it's pouring rain out again. I need to be better about my running plans and actually check the weather at the beginning of the week, so I can plan out which days I need to run. I'll get used to this eventually, I hope.
Not much else is exciting... 2 weeks from this very moment - I'll be at the airport, checking in for my flight. Woohoo!!!! I started to get nervous about it last night - so I know it's getting close. ::yes::
I hope you all have a great day!!! Prayers and good thoughts to all of you! :)
I can't believe how close your trip is. I know you will have a blast. Hopefully WDW will survive the 3 of you.
I'm always amazed when I see people running in the rain. I know when you are training you want some runs in the rain because you don't know what type of weather you will have the actual day of the race.
I'm glad your day at Target went by fast. I know you like it that way :)
You're right it's better to have to watch out for cars than creepy men.
You are such a good daughter - I hope my girls are that nice to me one day.
Thanks :)
Today almost all the snow is gone. There is only a little bit of snow left on the lawns. When looking at the weather forecast it doesn't look like we are going to get any more snow the next week.
The snow is actually late in Tromsø this year. Often the snow comes 14th October. Last year the snow came very early on the 22nd September. The snow doesn't really bother me. The thing that is the problem for me during winter and snow time is when the roads get very icy. Then I have HUGE problems walking outside. The ice is no problem for my car. I get where I want to go with the car even if it's icy.
In my investigation of what I can eat without getting in stomach trouble I'm now trying to find out what's in the pasta I'm eating. I was very surprised when I looked at the table of contents and find out there is only durum wheat in it and nothing else. I then read the nutritional content and find out that there is fat and salt in the pasta. WHAT :scared1: where is the salt and fat coming from? So I sent an e-mail to the pasta producer and asked if it's really only durum wheat in the pasta. How does it become pasta with nothing else in it. I got an answer today and they say it's only durum wheat and water and that the fat and salt comes from the durum wheat.
White bread is also mostly wheat and water and eating that is no problem. I guess I have to find pasta without durum then. I told my mother this today and she also thinks it's odd that there is nothing else in the pasta. She also said that my sister can't eat regular pasta so she eats pasta made from corn flour. I think I have to try that.
