Morning!
The puppies are just so dang adorable! I do believe Golden puppies are the worst puppies on the planet. BUT when they are older they are the best dogs on the planet!!!
Glad your having a great time with Allison and planning. Looks like a great time!
Hehehehe... MM was such a crazy puppy - now he is a crazy dog... He is a great dog though.
We are having a lot of fun planning... It feels good to be back at it again!
If you went to Disney in Nov and bought an annual pass for yourself then you would only need to buy a discounted military ticket for Allison. But, would you be able to get a second discounted military ticket that you could save for your trip with Victoria in October? If you could do that then you would be free to pick any resort for her trip, and save some money, too.
You will find that there isn't a lot of Disney theming in the Disney deluxe resorts either. they are refurbishing the BC resort rooms now and they've removed almost every single Disney theme there is. SoG looks every bit like a deluxe resort to me, but without Disney transportation.
Your old MagicBands will still work for your park tickets and fastpasses.
Well, as of now, I might be able to avoid the AP... Even though it would bring me some discounts, it would still be cheaper to do the military tickets... For the trip with Suzi and Mo - I have some old leftover tickets with a few days left on them, I plan to use those for this trip... And I can get up to 6 tickets per year... I can use 2 for when Alli and I go and 2 for when V and I go... So I shouldn't have any problems. At first there was a rule that you couldn't use two tickets for the same person making the days available longer - but it seems this is no longer the case, and people are allowed to do this. At one point - it was also said that these military tickets couldn't be used consecutively... so for an 8 park day trip, you'd have to have a day off in between using two seperate tickets for one person... but it seems this isn't the case anymore either? I don't think this should be too much of a problem for me, since I am only planning to use one ticket per person per trip... And I will have about 6 months in between the two tickets. I am still not 100% sure on all of this info, it's just what I am seeing - I need to do more digging so I am certain. And it may be a non-issue with V, since she wants to stay at FQ again.
I've noticed that too... There really isn't that much Disney theming in those deluxe resorts. I am certain we'll enjoy this trip - and Allison is really wanting to stay at SoG - she loves the idea of being able to walk over to the Poly... Even though we have never stayed at the Poly - we love it because on our last SoG stay, we spent the majority of our trip over there, using the restaurants and just enjoying the atmosphere - so, it kind of felt like we were staying at the Poly - we walked through every morning and evening to use their transportation. It was a great trip! So, we are really looking forward to doing this again.
I was wondering about this... I was thinking we could use our MBs from our Aug 2014 trip to put our military tickets on to for this trip... It would be nice to have MBs again - even if they are our old ones.
Have fun outlet shopping today. Hope your cold is feeling better as well.
Thanks! We had a lot of fun! I am doing better - but definitely not 100% yet.
The puppies are the cutest!! My husband sent me a text Friday night about all the cute puppies he saw while at our farmer's market picking up pizza for diner. We have a holistic animal store I guess you could call it & the woman that owns it is so sweet. All the puppies stay with her during the week. As much as I want another dog I told him NO WAY lol.
We always look into staying at SOG but never end up staying there. I think one of the reasons is we always do the dinning plan. My husband likes that it's prepaid (I also set up envelopes for tips so that is set aside before we even leave) & he isn't stressing about money while we are there. I also think you guys can pick up discounted US tickets through SOG, but I'm not 100% sure on that.
Hope you kick the ickys and start feeling better. Our weather has been warm then really cold then back to warm again so I too have been fighting something. Blech.
Hehehe... It's hard to resist cute puppies. LOL
I do love the dining plan - very much... However, it's not a deal breaker for me. And after this last trip and my eating - I guess it might be easier - the way I eat - to not have a diniing plan. What i comes down to for me is the budget - we are going to go where ever it's cheaper for us... With 2 Disney trips and 2 trips to Europe in the span of a year - we have to keep costs down for all of them. Gulp!
Yes, SoG does have discounted tickets to US - so I am planning to purchase them there.
Thanks - me too... I feel like I am at the tail end of this, but I just can't shake it.
Those puppies are so darn cute! Almost makes me want another one. Of course I'm dealing with the other end of things with my Eddie being 13 now and getting quite senile. He's started peeing in the house now so we are on constant watch for him just like with a puppy! Yesterday he managed to get into some bird seed. No idea how much he ate but he was definitely feeling a little too full last night I'm really wondering what my kitchen will look like when I get home tonight. That's where he stays during the day now since it's easier to clean up than the carpeted rooms.
So excited for you guys to check out Universal and the Harry Potter stuff. I just posted another big update on my TR with the rest of the Diagon Alley. Feel free to ask any questions.
I know - they are so hard to resist. Awww... That makes me sad about Eddie - he is so lucky to have such wonderful parents though.
I am excited to go check it out - thanks for letting me know you did an update. I will try to sneak over there this morning to read it before I got to work.
The puppies are so cute!
SoG always sounded nice. The limo ride to and from MCO sounds like a great plan. Is it only the Fastpasses you can't book as early?
Universal was expensive. We did that our first trip (we did 2 days there). The kids loved it, but we were definitely spoiled by fastpasses at Disney. We weren't fond of standing in the lines. We got there early for our Islands of Adventure day, the shuttle either got us there an hour early or an hour after opening, so we chose the hour early. They let us in with the early entry for the people that stay there. We even explained that we weren't staying there and they still let us in that day. It was wonderful to have that extra hour. The 2nd day, we didn't get in early, but we were chosen to open Universal that day. They kids thought that was a blast. We loved Finnegan's (Irish pub) at Universal. We ended up liking it better than Raglan Road. Mainly, because we were super hot and it was empty and air conditioned! I do have to say, I got much more motion sick on some of these rides. Take some motion sickness pills.
Hope you have a great day!
I know - it's going to be a long 8 weeks waiting for them to grow. LOL
For the most part... Staying at SoG - we can't get the
Disney dining plan... and our FP booking window is at 30 days like everyone else. But to be honest, I don't think it will be that horrible... We have no desire to meet Anna and Elsa... We can live with out SDMT and TSM if necessary... Most of our must-dos should still be available, and with the way we tour, we should be OK with this. It's not something I love - but I don't think it will be awful.
That was so nice of US to let you in so early. I honestly don't know how these shuttles work, so I am going to have to do some digging. I'd especially like to know what the times are for them leaving and arriving - so I can plan out our day.
SOG looks really nice in those pictures. I wondered what it looked like since you can't see it from the monorail.
We enjoyed US. Harry Potter was our favorite part but wee did go on other rides. It wan't as crowded as Disney is so we did quite a bit. We ate a Margaritaville. Our waitress wa obsessed with Jimmy Buffett's plane that is on display near there. She really wanted us to go over and look at the bullet holes in the side.
Those puppy pictures are so cute. MM is so little in the pictures.
We went to the outlets yesterday. There's quite a bit of snow in the parking lots. I bought new shoes and socks. It was nice to walk around outside. The only I don't like about these outlets is the fact that there is no Vera store. Afterwards we went to Target . On the way home we stopped for subs from a local place.
Have fun today.
Liz
Yes - it's a nice resort. Since it used to be a Disney Deluxe resort - it's very nice.
I am hoping US won't be that crowded for us either - but since we will be there the week prior to Easter, I think we are out of luck = it's going to be crazy! Gulp!
I know - we are so excited to be getting a puppy!
Yay for outlet shopping - sounds like you had a good time!
Thanks - I hope you have a good day!
Oh those puppies! I can't stand how cute they are and then they seem even cuter when you realize how tiny they are on the pillow!
I know - they are soooo tiny and cute! Cannot wait to bring one of them home. We will go out and visit them Easter weekend - and that's when we get to choose our puppy.

So, you can bet I will have lots of puppy pictures to post that Monday. LOL
Those puppies just keep getting cuter and cuter by the day. Probably a wise move not to go to see your Dad until Wednesday...give yourself a couple of extra days.
We have never seen SOG from driving or up close and personal. It looks like a nice place.
As for your question about the cancellation on DVC, you are right...once you do it, there's no refunds. No, I don't use David's. I had a friend from the DIS (he's no longer on here) that I used in the past and now I use the girl I work with (we are hoping to buy our own next year or the year after).
I know - it's so fun to be able to watch them grow!
It is a pretty nice resort... It doesn't have the Disney decor - but it does have a Disney Deluxe "feel" imo... And it's nice to be walking distance to the monorail.
OK - that's good to know, thanks Kathy. One day, I hope to try DVC - I just wish it was something I could justify in our budget.
Hi! I'm jumping in with both feet! We're planning our first
Disney Cruise and WDW trip for December so I'm hoping to get ideas from you.
Welcome!!! I am happy to have you here and following along! Oooh your first Disney cruise... I hope, one day, that Josh and I can take a nice Disney cruise - just us. It will be a few years down the road though.
Most of the rides at US are simulated rides - not all, but some of them (Simpsons, especially) are really rough.
That's good to know... I need to find out more about the HP rides - since I think those will be the only ones I'll be doing.
Every time I see a puppy picture (MM too) I melt. They are so cute and MM is going to love having a cohort in crime.
Universal or Not Universal - If you have read Harry Potter and enjoyed the books you will be amazed at what they have done at Universal with HP. I have not seen the two new ones but I have left over passes that I intend to use on our very short trip because I have to see. I am not a huge coaster fan but I do still enjoy Universal and like to have lunch at "Margaritaville". I do not go every time I have been to Disney - My two cents for what it is worth.
Bacon wrapped (not just wrapped but woven into a sheet and wrapped)meatloaf sounds good but to add smoked into that just kills me. I have done quite well slow cooking in the oven but would love to attempt to smoke. Does Josh use electric, coal or other?
Hope you are feeling better soon.
Jane
Hahaha... Exactly... I am not sure if he will love or hate this puppy... but he will never be bored again, that's for sure.
Thanks! it looks like we are doing Universal for sure... It should be an interesting day, for sure! LOL
Hehehe... Yah - that meatloaf is amazing! Josh does a coal burning smoker... It's very good!
Thanks Jane... I hope to be feeling better one of these days.
******************************************************************************
The girls and I had a great day yesterday... They were getting along, which is a rare thing, and we just had lots of fun!
We started off at Kohls... I just wanted to get a pair of white Converse... I've been wearing my new aqua Converse a lot lately and now that my feet aren't as stupid as they used to be, I can wear them and they are comfy.
Then we hit Ulta... Allison and I had a couple of make-up products we needed to restock.
From there, we did the Outlet mall... V got a pair of shorts from American Eagle, but we couldn't find anything for Allison - they had NO sizes in anything. It was pretty bare.
Nothing could be found in Old Navy either.
We hit the VB store... I found the hanging organizer to match my Disney Perfect Petals VB luggage...

and I also got the coordinating VB wallet. These are not the Disney prints. they are the coordinating sister print Flower Shower. I got both of these for $28 total, after my military discount.

Super excited!
Below photo found a google image search.
Then we finished shopping... As we were shopping though - I had a non-Dis Dismeet...

The girls and I were in Maurices, and V spotted a lady all decked out in Disney VB (perfect petals to be exact), so I went up to her and started talking Disney to her. We must have talked for a good 30 minutes about Disney, it was super fun! So, I got a little Disney into my day yesterday.
Since we didn't have much luck at the outlet mall... we went to the regular mall... We found shorts for both girls at AE, in their sizes. Whoohoo - success! And a couple of misc. tops at other stores.
It's been a while since I've posted a selfie... Here I am yesterday... Wearing my favorite Disney World hoodie... And my awesome spring/summer Disney VB bag... My size jr 7/8 capris (which run big, and are a bit too tight)... and my Converse. Not to mention my pig tails... And note the perfectly place LGMH on the strap of my bag... Pattern placement on this bag (big thanks to Nowellsl for picking it out for me) is top notch!
We went to Panera Bread for lunch... Yah - that wasn't the wisest choice for me, since there is nothing I can eat there. I wound up with soup and a sandwich - I ate one side of the bread but left the other.
We came home... Gus came over shortly after.
We had tacos for dinner.
We watched some TV and went to bed.
Today, I am back to my heavy lifting... Praying my body is ready. I took the last week+ off because of my pulled shoulder and being sick. I've missed it and feel like I am off balance with out it in my life, so it's back at it today.
I am also at Target all day...
I still feel crummy, but I need to stop whining about it and just hope I continue to get better.
I hope you all have a wonderful day! Prayers and good thoughts for all of you!
