I hope you are feeling better? Best wishes and good luck on your race!!! You will do great, I know it! :goodvibes

Taking a quick break from last minute packing...

Thanks! I'm feeling much better but I'm still draining and coughing. I sure hope my lungs have cleared up by the weekend, that's for sure. *hugs*

Have a great day and I hope Allison's pain goes away soon.

SoG looks like an amazing resort. and YES you do need a BIG mirror! Oh no. Not a socket! those are painful. I had one. will she be OK on a plane?

Poor Allison. I really hope things turn around for her in time for you to go. Don't hesitate to bring her in just to make sure she's good before you leave. SoG looks great and for $69 a night you can't beat it.
I thought of you last night when my DH and I started up a 30 day challenge. If you haven't heard of them they have different ones that work different parts of your body. Right now we are doing the 30 day abs, butt, and beach body ones. Last year we did one at a time after I had baby number five and wanted to tone up my stomach. The results were amazing. You can find the exercises online. It only takes about 10 minutes a day. My DH is my motivator so doing it with someone is always fun. Just thought I'd pass it along in case it helps you.

I had dry socket when I had my wisdom teeth out many years ago. The clove oil was such a relief, dry socket is unbelievably painful. The only downside is it makes everything taste like clove, but it is worth it. Thankfully, Allison didn't have this come up while you were on your trip.

I do have a small obsession with coordinating travel bags... My favorite part about the Perfect Petals set, is that VB has the coordinating Flower Showers, so I can fill in pieces as I need to. :lovestruc
It's always nice to have a full set of something like that! It is a very pretty pattern, I remember seeing it in some of your pictures. Do you get a discount of VB with your AP?
I hope Allison wasn't in too much pain for today.
New hair before a trip is always nice, glad you are happy with it!

Sounds like Allison is doing better.

I hope you have a great day at Target today

Thanks! I think she is doing better - which is good.

Thank you - it was OK. :)

Thanks for stopping in... I am glad you are feeling much better - I was hoping you would be! :woohoo: I hope you have a great race! Safe travels my friend! :lovestruc

Thank you - I hope so too - she seems to be doing much better.

It is a pretty neat resort - it's not "great" like AKL was... but it's definitely not an All Star either. I am very excited to be spending a trip there again - we had a lot of fun last time, and even though it was a lot of walking - I think I've come up with some ideas to make it easier on us. :scratchin

Yes - she will be OK on the plane - we did ask. We were actually joking about this the other day, because BFF made me ask the surgeon, and he chuckled at us a little bit... Said it was a common question, but no issues. So, then Allison and I were joking about it on the way home, because the only time it would be a problem is if there was a dramatic drop in pressure (as in falling)... So, we'd be falling out of the sky screaming about our concern for dry sockets. ::yes:: :lmao: Maybe you had to be there? But I am sure you can imagine how this conversation went? LOL We got a little overly hysterical about it - as I am sure you can picture it. Hehehehe...

Love you Mo-Mo.... Miss you so much. I wish you could come visit us for our 3 hour layover in Chicago... I would never ask you to brave O'hare for me... But know I'll be waving to you the whole time we are there. Love you!

Yes - we are pretty excited to have gotten such a good room rate at SoG for this trip, it really is fabulous! :woohoo: And having such a great room rate was super helpful for allowing us to be able to afford to go to Universal this trip. So, it's pretty awesome! I am really just looking forward to taking it all in. I know I always say I want a "relaxing" trip, but it never ends up that way... this time- just because of the way everything worked out - we are getting a relaxing trip, and it will be really nice. I just cannot wait to spend this time with her... I am sure there will be many treasured memories from this trip - to add on to all of our other treasured memories from this place. :lovestruc

Sounds like you are doing some awesome work right now! Kudos to you! I was doing really, really good until the last day or so.... It seems, the closer I get to the trip - the harder it is to stay focused on eating well, because i am so busy. At least I continue to work out, and I eat the best I can when I can. :thumbsup2 I also think it's great that you are doing this with your DH... It's sad for me to say - I don't think Josh will ever take an interest in better health for himself, if he does - I'll probably fall over due to shock? :scratchin LOL But I think it's awesome that the two of you are doing this together. Congrats! :woohoo:

Thanks so much! This is good to know... Yes - Allison did NOT enjoy the taste at all. LOL Poor kid. I know - I am relieved that this came up now... Let's hope this was the worst of it. I will be doing an Allison update below. :thumbsup2

Yah - I've been assembling it piece by piece for a few years now, since it came out... I ended up paying full price for 2 pieces - the Hipster and the Vera tote - I purchased those in WDW... But the rest of the set - was either a gift or I purchased it piece by piece at a good discount... Most of it on Ebay, and the rest of it at the outlets. The only piece I really *feel* like I needed to purchase at WDW is the Hipster, because that one is small enough where I feel pattern placement is important... The rest of the bags are large enough, where the pattern placement isn't such a huge deal because there's enough room on the bag itself to have a good chunk of the pattern seen. If that makes sense? :scratchin LOL But yes - I will get an AP discount when I purchase the hipster this trip... I just hope that I am able to find one with good enough pattern placement - sometimes that's tricky. I am also concerned that there isn't much of this pattern on the website, so I am hoping it isn't discontinued yet. I do have to say though - I do highly recommend the VB products - once you buy them - it's rare that they need to be replaced... Unless you are like me and carry your Hipster day in and day out. LOL

Thanks so much! I will be doing an Allison update below. :lovestruc

So far I am happy with it... I love the color - as usual... but it's always hard for me to tell if I like the cut until a few days later. I know this is kind of icky - I don't like it either... but because of my burgundy low lights (and she added extra this time for me) - they tend to fade very quickly... So in an effort to make them last a bit longer, my stylist recommends that I don't fully wash my hair for 2 days after I have it colored... but if I have no plans (like this time) - I always try to stretch it to 3, because it gives me better color for longer... Especially now that my hair is longer, I can wear it in a pony with a headband that 3rd day, and it's easier to pull off. So, I really won't know until tomorrow how much I like it. But the color is great, I am really happy about that.

Alrighty - here we go....

So, Allison update... Yesterday, I took her back into the surgeon to get the gauze repacked. Sadly - a surgeon wasn't in, in any of their locations, so we went to one of the hygienists... She did a good rinse and look - she seems to think that Allison really turned a corner from the day before (and I have to agree)... I am not sure if it was the clove oil gauze? Or if she just had good healing in that time... but the hygienist thought it best to not repack the gauze in there... She said Allison would heal much faster with out it... She also said that with in the next day or so, we should see a huge improvement in Allison's pain level and food tolerance. Then she said it looked really good in there... I do have to say - I agree with the hygienist, I saw a HUGE improvement between Tuesday and Wednesday... I think that having the syringe to clean out that area has really helped, because I am noticing that Allison is going extended lengths now without meds, and forgetting to take meds = also eating much chewier foods (bagels) without issue- which is a good sign.

So, Allison has also had a very stressful week. On top of missing 3 days of school last week, and Monday this week... She is behind. Then work scheduled her 4 nights this week (because she missed so much work last week) on the week she is supposed to be taking finals and turning in final projects for school. It has been very frustrating and stressful for her. Then managing her pain on top of all of this... Well, it's not been easy. We knew this week would be difficult for months now, but to have the curve ball of her emergency wisdom teeth removal - well - it's just been even more difficult. Anyways... Last night, she came home 3 hours early from work - and we were all quite shocked... As it turns out - she explained to work what was going on and everything she is dealing with... Out of the niceness of their hearts - they adjusted her schedule for her this week... She still has to work - but they cut her hours waaaay back. That would NEVER happen at Target, and it just really warmed my heart that they would be that understanding during this time. It's really made me rethink my whole "annoyance with retail jobs" in general... And also makes me wonder why I am still at Target? LOL So, thankful that they were so understanding for her. :lovestruc

As for me... I worked at Target yesterday....

Then I ran Allison to the surgeon - as I mentioned above.

I picked V up from school and dropped her at church.

Then Josh and I had a nice dinner at home together... He's had some things going on at work these last few weeks - so it was good to finally get to sit down alone with him and talk about it. :lovestruc

I went through my packing again last night... I added a couple of long sleeved shirts to my luggage... I feel like I should add a few more. I don't have any long pants packed - just capris... So, I am debating with myself on that. I am one who wears capris/flip flops until the snow flies... So, I am not sure I will even wear pants if I bring them? Eeek - it's so hard to decide.

Other than that - I don't think I can get any more ready to go? LOL Now I just sit and wait....

Today... I don't have much going on... I might try to work in my sewing room again for a while? :scratchin I have an appointment this afternoon - but otherwise, besides figuring out logistics for Allison to be at work and me to be at my appointment at the exact same time - and one vehicle between us... it should be a pretty low key and un-exciting day. ::yes::

It's tomorrow that will be crazy with all of the grocery shopping I need to get done for Josh and V for while we are gone, and last minute errands I need to run...

Anyways - I hope you all have a marvelous day!!!! :lovestruc

I'm so glad Allison is feeling better!

I worked retail while I was going to school, then got out of it for a long time. Last year I decided to pick up a second job to help offset the cost of our vacation. I was excited as I love the store that I work at, but it quickly came back to me WHY I quit retail in the first place lol
I don't have any long pants packed
I have friends down there this week and they've been wearing shorts and t-shirts during the day, and pants and hoodies at night. If you have room I would back a pair of jeans just in case.

Good luck! I know how hectic getting ready for vacation can be in itself, let alone having to prepare the for the ones staying behind as well!

Hi Dee - we just got back from WDW yesterday. The weather for the last three days was a high of around 64 and low of 44. Most of the time it was in the 50's and 60's. And most of the time it never got anywhere near the forecast high. Only one day did the high of 64 actually happen. Otherwise it was more often a high of 60. The vast majority of people wore jackets or fleece or sweatshirts all day. You almost never saw anyone in short sleeves or shorts. Most people wore long pants or capris. I was very happy to have gloves with me for the mornings and evenings. It was too cold to swim.

I wore my fleece jacket every day. The evenings were cold and I would throw my lightweight, thin rain jacket over the fleece to block the wind. But most of the day I just needed the fleece.

Even though it was cool, it was sunny and rain free. We didn't mind the cool weather at all because the sun felt good. :)

Your friends must have been hardier than us. ;) It was too cold for me to wear shorts. :) Saturday and Sunday before the cold front moved in were the only days warm enough for us to wear short sleeves.

We're pretty hearty up here in Buffalo lol BUT, I have heard that the cold down in Florida is different than it is up north. IDK why that is lol but its what I've come across here on the boards.

We live in the Chicago area. :)

It's not so much the temperature in WDW it's the fact that you're outside for most of the day. :) I like to be warm but there are always people who wear shorts.

Dee - you will probably be fine in your capris most of the time.

If you want to get a real feel for the weather then check today's weather several times throughout the day. The high today is supposed to be 70. It is 52 there right now. Check the weather around 1 pm and it will probably only be 64.

I'm glad Allison's doing better. It was so nice of her work to adjust her schedule for her. Walmart would never do that unless there was what they considered a real emergency.
Today and tomorrow I have short shifts which I wouldn't might but they're both evening ones and I usually work days, now. Yesterday was one of my days off and I stayed home all day. We had a snow storm over night and the road in front of my house didn't get plowed until after 2 pm. Our town is only 1 square mile with only one main road so I don't know what was going on. Schools were closed so the buses didn't have to go down the streets. Maybe that's why it was done so late. Today I have to go to the grocery store since I'n almost out of a lot of stuff.
I can't believe it's almost time for your trip. Shades of Green looks like a really nice resort and saving money is always good.
I have the same Disney crossbody you do and a matching wallet in the Vera pattern. It's one of my favorites. I've been doing really good at not buying any new Vera until the sale in April. I do need a new grand traveler. I put my sewing maching in the one I have. It makes a good sewing machine case.
Have a good day.
Liz

Wear pants on the plane that can do go with most themes, then if you need pants just wear those. I had to do that one chrismas trip. It was colder than I thought so wound up wearing the pants almost all week. It was good we were in a villa with a washer dryer than FIL's house.

LOL We got a little overly hysterical about it - as I am sure you can picture it. Hehehehe...

I can.. and i was laughing right with you.

Miss you so much. I wish you could come visit us for our 3 hour layover in Chicago... I would never ask you to brave O'hare for me...

I totally wish i could too!!! but it's O'Hare!!!! The other side of creation!!! could have done lunch!

I spoke with a friend of mine yesterday (the one who moved there) and she said it's in the 40's adn was complaining to me.. SERIOUSLY i pretty much told her to ummm. yeah i am sure you know what i told her.
I think you will be fine in your Capris.. yet i would bring leggings? ya know something thin you can put in your over stuffed luggage.
Don't forget to say Hi to my favorite CM's! Haley and Larry!

I'm so glad Allison is doing so much better! That's wonderful news. And so wonderful that her employer was compassionate and adjusted her hours. Yea!

Right now we are doing the 30 day abs, butt, and beach body ones.
I'm doing the "Guns, Buns and Abs Challenge" I have to say that even being out of shape I'm amazed how well I'm doing (week 2). I recommend it. Even being sick this week I've kept up with it even though I haven't felt well enough for cardio.

even though it was a lot of walking - I think I've come up with some ideas to make it easier on us.
Let me know what you came up with and what worked. There just could be a trip for birthdays in May that I'm trying to work out! :bday:

pretty excited to have gotten such a good room rate at SoG for this trip,
That is an amazing rate! I've not seen any rate at SoG that low, but I also don't check all the time. Congrats. We are also in Cat 3, so while it's still a bargain, it's still their highest rate. No complaints from me, though since I like that they structure it to pay grades.

I have to tell you that you just cost me some $$! I have needed new make-up brushes and jumped on that deal you mentioned. They just arrived. Now I have to go google applying foundation with a brush because I've never done that, but I bet it's an improvement over my slap-dash methods. Never really had anyone to teach me how, and being a bit of a tomboy, it never was a focus of mine.

One more request if you remember (since I know you are busy and will be enjoying the wonders of WDW). Which ticket did you buy for Allison? I'm looking at SoG options and it seems like the Stars and Stripes ticket is a better deal than getting two back to back Salute tickets. Let me know your thoughts and if you did something other than Salute. I'm trying to figure out if all their tickets come with codes to attach to DME so we can book FP+ at 60 days (we are thinking of split with WDW then SoG so we could book at 60 for several days).

Enjoy your trip! So glad Allison is doing better. Great sign that she isn't needing pain meds--she's on the mend!!

Soo so glad Allison is doing much better. That was so nice of her job! Not a lot of places are that understanding (I've been in the retail field too, as well as having had worked at a Target). Poor girlie will be ready for a vacation by next week!

Do you know about the special military M&G at Epcot? I'm not sure where I read about it, but wanted to let you know in case you hadn't heard. Ask about it at the SoG ticket counter. I don't remember the details, but it is only available to folks staying at SoG! Let me know if you check it out!

Just in case you forget about the question to ask Marie or Mickey Mouse about Figment. I would recommend writing the question on a piece of paper. Even better try visiting the Imagination Pavilion and find a Figment plush and then you can show the plush to Mickey at the Magic Kingdom who can talk to guests and Marie who is also seen at MK. I hope it won't be rainy during those days though.
