They'd Better Get Ready on the East Coast!! May 2009 **TR started on TR boards!!**

i love all your pictures! it looked like so much fun! Disney On Ice comes here like the night before we leave for Disney. Im bummed I will be missing it so Im glad I can see your pictures of it! :goodvibes

Hey, I'd rather be at WDW than DOI any day!!:rotfl2:Glad you enjoyed the pictures.:goodvibes

Great pics of the Disney on Ice show! It looks like you guys had a great time! I love that your brother was boarding the train the same time you guys were..so funny. :rotfl2:

We went to DOI years ago when it was Finding Nemo theme & sat front row center. It was such a blast! The show comes here while we're actually in WDW this year, so we have to pass. I think we'll be having too much fun to miss it, though.

Did you have fun on your weekend trip?

Aww I would have loved to see a Finding Nemo DOI show. That must have been so cute! We had a blast, it was really fun. :cutie:

And.... check it out, guys!! I HAVE MY FIRST TAG! Woohoo!!!!:dance3:

I'm so excited.

LUCKY! I'm so jealous!!;)

Ooh, I'm jealous too! I've always wanted a tag...very cool! :thumbsup2

Congrats on the tag!! :thumbsup2

Thanks, guys!:goodvibes

I know this is super silly....but what is a tag? :confused3

Hmm there's probably someone out there who can explain it better than me, but tags are the little coloured phrases under someone's user name. There are "Tag Fairies" on the boards who will take little funny/ unusual things from member's posts (I think mostly on the Community Board) and tag them with 'em. You don't have any say in them and they're completely unexpected, so it's exciting and fun to get one!:goodvibes There isn't really any importance to them, they're just a fun little thing LOL.

Awesome! I'm so jealous. I've always wanted a tag!

Good for you!:woohoo::banana::cool1:

Thanks!:goodvibes

Loved your pics from Disney on Ice!! Looks like you had such a good time!

We did!! Glad you like the pictures.:thumbsup2 I hope things are getting settled down for you now after the move.:flower3:

Okay so this is kind of a non-Disney update, but I'm going to relate it to my PTR because it's a mini TR of my train trip... meaning it's just like practice for my May Disney TR! See? Fits right in, doesn't it? LOL

I posted about this earlier, but this past weekend I took the train up to Kingston, Ontario to visit a friend at university. I stayed with her for and we did some sightseeing and catching up. I had a really great time and of course, I brought along my camera! Here's the university campus:

Anyone notice what's wrong with this picture?

IMG_1262.jpg

We walked down to the waterfront from the campus. Notice the eco friendly energy they have going on there! It was such a beautiful sunny day, the water was sparkling like crazy. Still a bit cold, but the sunshine made it bearable!

Me with the Sir John A Macdonald monument. Whoever can name his importance in Canadian history gets a... maple leaf?:rotfl:

One of the canons guarding the park:

There's quite a pretty harbour with a few museums which we were going to check out just for fun but since our sightseeing landed on a Sunday, all of them were closed. I was a little bummed haha.

IMG_1283.jpg

But I perked up when we found Kingston's Sir John A train!!

IMG_1288.jpg

Right next to the train was a very Canadian gift shop.

IMG_1290.jpg

And the cutest little hotel ever!

IMG_1286.jpg

Kingston is the home of RMC, the Royal Military College of Canada. You can see it across the water here:

IMG_1291.jpg

And also right in the area is City Hall!

IMG_1292.jpg

Who knew there was a Margaritaville in Kingston? LOL

IMG_1295.jpg

We didn't stop there for lunch, however, we stopped at the most delicious bakery/bistro called Pan Chancho. It had the most amazing food!

YUM! I could've eaten everything in the place LOL.

Unfortunately, after lunch was over I had to hop back on the train for Toronto. It was a really fun weekend though, and the perfect little getaway! Kingston is a really pretty town with so much history... I think they have a monument or a plaque for just about everything! We even found monuments for the Irish Potato Famine! All in all, I had a great time.:goodvibes It's so nice to be able to spend time with friends.

And finally for a little Disney info...

UGH! I am a little bit frustrated. After calling Disney today, it turns out they have no record of our ASMu 1 night reservation before our 7 night YC stay. The CM on the phone said that she could see a CBR ressie and a YC ressie but not room only reservation for ASMu. Of course, I have the confirmation that was mailed to our house so I'm going to call back tomorrow once I dig it out and see what's up. Apparently there is no more availability at ASMu? So we'll see what happens with that.

PLUS, we got our Magical Express tags in the mail and they have out YC info on them, not our ASMu (I'm guessing that's because our ASMu ressie isn't in the system). So when instead of clearing THAT up, I was informed that they don't have any record of our flight information! And yet we have our tags? Yikes! So tomorrow I'm gathering all our travel documents up and calling Disney to get everything properly straightened out. Whew!

"Ooh,ooh, pick me, pick me!" Sir John was the 1st Canadian PM!! You can send my maple leaf regular post. :lmao:

Your mini TR was great. Kingston looks beautiful! I'm glad you had fun. :flower:

Wow! That's so weird about your Disney mix-ups! I hope you get it worked out real soon!

Your mini trip looked like fun! Kingston looks like a beautiful place, for some reason, I think I've been there! :confused3

Bummer, Disney has no record of your ASMu ressie. I'm sure everything will get worked out once you tell them your ressie number.....I hope!:) I'm looking forward to getting our DME stuff in the mail! Maybe next week!

That's neat you might've been to Kingston!:goodvibes Were you very young?

And I've sure got my fingers crossed for tomorrow! Luckily I still have my confirmation number so that should help get things worked out. I'll send some pixie dust to the mail for your DME stuff. It makes the trip seem so real!:thumbsup2

Sounds like you had a lovely weekend trip. It looks neat and historical, I love that kind of stuff.

I wish you lots of pixie dust in getting everything fixed with Disney. :wizard:

Your mini TR was great!!! I loved looking at all of the old buildings. What a gorgeous place. I've never been to Canada, but I really want to. I especially want to visit Prince Edward Island, since that's where Anne of Green Gables is from! :thumbsup2

And so sorry about all of the junk with your Disney info. hopefully you'll get everything straightened out today! :)

Hooray! I :lovestruc mini TRs! Your trip looked like a blast! That food looks amazing! Too pretty to eat! It looks like a very beautiful place to visit with lots of neat things to do. I love all your pics.

One day I will visit Canada... I really want to go to Prince Edward Island one day. Anyone a fan of Avonlea or Anne of Green Gables? :rotfl:

I LOVE Anne of Green Gables! I have all the books - they're so worn out from reading as a kid (and adult:blush:). I also have all the Meghan Follows movies. On VHS. And more recently on DVD. Prince Edward Island is on my Must list! It looks so beautiful there. I wonder if there's any travel perks now that I'm an honorary Canadian?:lmao:

It really does have an interesting history. Kingston was the first capital of Canada, home of our first Prime Minister is designated a UNESCO World Heritage site because of all the nearby Forts. It was Canada's military base during the war of 1812. According to Statistics Canada, Kingston has the highest percentage of PhD holders per capita than any other town/city in Canada. And, according to Wikipedia, "notable residents" include Bryan Adams, Dan Aykroyd and Don Cherry.

I should be a tour guide!:lmao:

Prince Edward Island is so pretty. I loved the Anne of Green Gables books when I was growing up!:goodvibes You can even visit Lucy Maud Montgomery's home in PEI, it's close to Green Gables. If you go there, make sure you eat lots of potatoes!:rotfl:

Mmmm the food was amazing. We SO wanted to try the banana chocolate chip cheesecake but they were only selling the whole cake and there was no way we could've eaten all of it! But the chocolate caramel bourbon tart definitely was a nice subsitute!

Well first or all, if you're going to be an honourary Canadian you're going to have to start spelling it honoUrary... I don't know who made that maple leaf sign but I don't think they were from Canada! Also, you're going to have to get rid of your accent and learn our national anthem. But other than that, we'll load you up with Nanaimo bars, poutine and tourtiere... and you'll be good to go!:rotfl:

Update time!:cool1:

I know you've all just been on pins and needles waiting to hear about the ASMu and DME situation:laughing: but rest assured, everything has been figured out! I talked to an awesome CM named Janet (THANK YOU JANET!!!:worship:) on the phone and she found our ASMu reservation, changed all the ME information, added our flights and told me our new booklet and luggage tags should be at the house within the next few days. I am so relieved. She was really sweet and helpful and I feel just great about everything now.:thumbsup2 I made sure I was connected to a cast member from guest services after to compliment her on how much I appreciated her help. It's so wonderful to get CMs who are so cheerful and knowledgeable about their jobs.

Also, I was doing some math today and I figured out that with our two upcoming trips (and a very likely February 2010 trip lurking in the horizon) that buying Annual Passes in May would be the best way to go! If all my calculations were correct, it'll save us over $400!:woohoo: So I called and changed our June reservation to 1 day base tickets, my dad can switch his to a 6 day ticket once we get there and I'll use my AP. This means we can also get a Tables in Wonderland card for our dining (we aren't doing the dining plan) and we'll get some nice merchandise and recreation discounts. So I spent quite a while with Disney on the phone today.

Finally, my Vera Bradley Mini Hipsters came in the mail! Here are my two new babies.:lovestruc

LOL I just realized you can see my little countdown on the day planner on my desk!

I was also out shopping with a friend yesterday and picked up this necklace and earring set at Forever 21 for only 6 bucks!! The picture's a little blurry but you get the idea.

Not too bad for a 5 dollar bill and change!

And guess what?!

Today is our 35 day mark!!!!!!!

Okay, I'm sorry I'm so behind. But that's so awesome you're at the 35 day mark!
