Since the release of the new Disney Junior show "Mickey's Roadster Racers," they should use the concept to update Tomorrowland Speedway. It would be a good fit and bring another Mickey attraction into the park. I know there have been rumors about the Speedway for awhile. Any thoughts?

That doesn't really fit with the Tomorrowland theme.

It's a show that's been out for 6 weeks. I can't see them doing it, plus as someone else has mentioned, it doesn't fit the theme.

It's also rumored to be on the chopping block as it uses a lot of room, for an attraction that doesn't accommodate as many guests.
Kart technology has come along way, and an indoor electric based setup would be a better fit for that genre of attraction.

I love the thought of that attraction, as motorsports is my passion, and I love to see kids get bit by the bug at something like that. However, I think it is time for that concept to have a major update.

Although it isn't a Tomorrowland theme, the Speedway's location is a transition to Storybook Circus and Fantasyland so it could fit in because of that. Also, some of the cars on the show are darn cute. I love Mickey's racer with the silver mickey cutout grille.

Right, theming isn't an issue. They could simply "redraw" the boundaries and make it a part of Fantasyland. There was also the idea put forth in the past of re-theming it to the "Sugar Rush" game in "Wreck It Ralph."

Of course, as others have said, there's a chance that Disney might do away with the attraction completely. But I'll believe that when I see it. :)

I love the idea of this attraction. I remember when I was little how much I looked forward to similar experiences "driving" and this is a "must do" for my kids when we visit WDW. I think Disney does a much better job with Autopia in DLR than the Speedway in MK. The new Honda sponsorship of Autopia helped update the attraction and the area in general is more pleasant. The "print your own Autopia license" was an inexpensive and lasting souvenir.

I would love to see the Speedway get corporate sponsorship (Tesla! NASCAR?), update the vehicles, and add in themeing (seems to be a trend of retro-futuristic.) I prefer to keep it free of characters, but wouldn't be too upset with a Sugar Rush, Cars, or Roadsters spin.

Speedway needs updating, agree. Far as what they replace it with and not fitting the theme of Tomorrowland, I see most of Tomorrowland not fitting the theme as it is.

My kids would LOVE a Sugar Rush theme! Course they would like the Mickey one, too. But I think Sugar Rush would be really neat.
