I don't know your family dynamics, so I can't comment whether you should convince them. The power of choice still seems to be left with them regardless. I'll say from my own experience with younger age groups (I don't know how old your children are) that sometimes they need to have the experience to know if they like it. For example, if I knew I was going to come back to WDW, then I would try something new, whether it's dining, lodging, transportation mode and so on to give an opportunity of growth and learning about making assumptive decisions. Afterwards, we can have conversations based on our experience rather than our assumptions about what worked well, what we liked, and what we wouldn't want to repeat.
You had mentioned you liked BC. It seems to be very close to BWV, has remarkable activities/pool area for kids, and it would be easy to see/walk to BWV as a familiar place. I don't know if your family has sensitivities that require deferral to your children's choices. You know your dynamics and if convincing, conceding or trying something new would be acceptable. I hope you and your family have a lovely time wherever you end up staying!
