They Don't Make Pencils in Pennsylvania? A Feb/Mar 2013 Trip Report

Oops, forgot to post the photopass pictures from our Epcot day.







I have no recollection of going to the Character Spot and am not sure what time of day this happened.





See, he loved Test Track.








Yep, don't remember this part either. Must have enjoyed a Grand Marnier Slushie before getting to this part of the World Showcase......





Now these, I remember.

sounds like you had an relaxing day at Epcot. The story telling looks great for kids.

It was a perfect day at Epcot. We all love it there, and I would definitely eat at Teppan Edo again.

Storytime is quite cute for children, but it was nice to get away from outside crowds for the adults, too.

We woke up on Friday and got ready to go wait for a cab.





We had a breakfast reservation to get to at........



We got there, we got our picture, and we waited. And waited.







And then got seated near a window, which was nice. Ohana is HUGE!





The character interaction was good, but it took a long time for our server to come around. We all liked the juice.






Stitch liked Stitch. He put him on his ear.



Edward liked both Stiches.







After breakfast we wandered around the lobby at the Polynesian and then took our first monorail ride on this trip so that we could get over to Magic Kingdom.









We never go to the left at the castle, we always go through Tomorrowland first, so this path was different for us.









You've just had a full breakfast at Ohana. What are you going to do now? Why wait in line for a Dole Whip, of course.

Our last day at Magic Kingdom involved more pirates and further solidified that Edward's new favorite ride is Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.






After enjoying our Dole Whip, we got spat on by camels again then moved on to BTMRR.













We rode it twice in a row and then decided to go back to ride POTC. We got to POTC right before the Pirate Tutorial was starting and Edward got chosen to participate in the Tutorial! And Captain Jack selected Edward to fight him.













Look, there's Blackbeard's daughter!










We watched this last year and had a blast, so it was fun that Edward got selected this year. Jack noticed Edward's sweatshirt and asked if his name was "DA" as in, "Yo", Da". Edward had such pixie dust on this trip!




We went back to ride BTMRR after one last ride on POTC and then went all the way to the other side of the park so that we could ride Buzz Lightyear one last time. And it was really warming up so we used another snack credit.






And Edward got the highest score possible! They gave him a special Galactic Hero button for doing so at the end. More pixie dust!



We left to go back to the Wilderness Lodge and stopped at the Photopass counter on our way out. This helpful cast member was charmed by Edward (as we were charmed by the CM) and he let Edward help him add our Buzz pictures and our Ohana pictures to our photopass plus card.

Wow. 6 months later and I'm posting because I'm heading back to Wilderness Lodge in a little over 2 weeks. I'm excited and have been rereading my own trip report in preparation.

Did a lot the last 2 years and am trying to relax on this upcoming trip from 2/25 to 3/1. I actually think that Fast Pass Plus will help with that goal as I've scheduled them in such a way to allow us plenty of time to swim, shop, relax and enjoy CL. We are telling Edward the weekend before the trip (at his birthday party) that we are going. He doesn't think we will be going until some time in 2015, so looking forward to the surprise.

I never really finished the report from last year, but we found out the day that we returned from our trip that my mother had colon cancer. She had surgery in April to remove the tumor and while the surgery itself was successful, she had complications from that surgery that placed her in ICU for a month. She was lifeflighted and actually had to be revived and lets just say it was one of the scariest times in my life.

She had a long time healing and a lot of home care and finally in September, started to be herself again. She is now on chemotherapy because the complications prevented her from doing that initially and she is tolerating that very well.

I changed jobs in September (away from the hospital that I believe contributed to the complications) and am now in a place to be taking another trip to WDW. I think she would be capable of joining us on this next trip, but with the Peoplemover out of operation, she said it is out of the question.



Sorry for the long delayed comments here, but felt I needed to give some closure before starting anew.

Thanks for your kind words about my mom. Not sure if I will do a TR or not, but did get memory maker to get some good pics........

My computer has not been so cooperative though so I'm not sure.

I understand about not doing a TR, it does take a lot of effort! Glad you got Memory Maker though. I'm sure it's going to be a wonderful trip

I do not have another trip planned at the moment, though always hoping that will change!
