They Don't Eat Hash Browns in Princessland - May 14 COMPLETE! 2/8 pg. 73

I am so excited to see your pictures of the Royal Room. That is where we are staying for December. It looks so pretty. I can't wait to be there!

What a traveling nightmare! Thank goodness the reward on the other end is Disney!

Can't wait to hear more about your trip. :yay:

Love your Wisconsin shout out.... We were in IL this weekend and were driving around and I said "I wonder if I'll ever just run into Danielle here..."

We booked a Royal Room for our last vacation and loved it! The details are great, you keep finding little things around the room that surprise you!

Yay for your trip beginning!!

I'm actually a fan of the travel day updates - my "travel" to Disney has only ever consisted of driving the hour over to those magical gates, and I've always wished I could experience the excitement of the plane ride and arrival at MCO, while rushing to get to the MDE! I did end up getting to do that for the Princess Marathon weekend, thanks to a work trip!

Good for you for keeping your cool for the most part with all the post arrival craziness. I feel like getting totally upset in those situations can just make it worse, and it always pays off to just have a bit of patience. I'm glad that was true for y'all!! Being HANGRY though, a whole other matter! :)

Isn't the Royal Room amazing?! We stayed there in January for Marathon Weekend, and even though I have 2 boys, they loved it. That whole resort is just beautiful, and that room is the icing on the cake!

Looking forward to the next update!! :goodvibes

Glad you finally made it! Why does it seem that when one thing gets thrown out of whack there is a domino effect?!

So...if the cazy lady at Thrifty new the battery was dead why did she send you over to the the car, I know its Orlando and theres alot of magic here but car batteries dont magically charge on their own:confused3.

That room is fantastic! Love all the little details.

At this point after the flight, car, luggage, people just plain being in the way and no food I would have been threatening to shank someone!

Joining in! What a stressful travel day, you guys sure did take it like troopers though! You and your parents seem like your a fun bunch to be around :goodvibes The royal rooms look SO amazing. Can't wait to hear more!

Love the WI shirts. Cracks me up!

I think waiting for a gate after you land is so annoying! You're so close, yet not able to get all the way to WDW! It happened to DH and I last year. I was pregnant and had a baby on my bladder. It was so hard to hold it!

It is isn't Disney day without an adventure to get on property. :lmao:

I would have been bouncing off the plane walls at not landing and then the whole luggage thing!!!!! Madness I tell you.

Sorry that you pretty much had 12 hours to enjoy the royal room and spend well most of it asleep. :headache:

I loved that rug in the room. Although I constantly had the feeling I was going to trip on the tassles lol

I debated on how to play this out- I could go all creepy stalker like and proclaim my love for reading your reports and howwwwwwww badly I want to be in your family... Haha but instead ill pretend I'm super cool tell you that I'm non chalantly joining in  can't wait to hear about this adventure

:rotfl2: I think you played it out just fine. Glad you're here.

I hate being hangry!!!! I can so relate to the "Danielle Smash!" comment!! :lmao: What an adventuresome trip down! But I adore that room!!! :lovestruc

Hangry is the worst! Man, and if I get hangry you better get out of the way!

Oh dear, that is quite an insane travel day! I'm sure it was unbelievably difficult having to actually go through it at the time, but it provided some really interesting stories for your TR! That food must've been unbelievably delicious after being hungry for so long!!!

Haha, I like that comment you made to the CM. Is there any other food item that has "magic" in it? Magic Shell?

It was insane, but you know, we ended up in Disney, so it was all okay.

In that moment, it felt like it was the best food I'd ever eaten in my life!

I'm not sure if there is, but I'll definitely seek one out. :rotfl2:

Midway Airport! You either love it or hate it; I want to love it because of Southwest and cheaper flights, but I hate the airport itself and the landing on those small runways.

What a frustrating travel day from the plane not leaving on time, then not landing, then the luggage and the car. Oh my...I would have blown a gasket with that whole car scenario.

We ate at the POR's counter service once and I keep wanting to get back and we just never have. After seeing your food we must try to get there in September.

The Royal Rooms are gorgeous. Thank you for standing on the ottoman to get the picture of the border paper...it is adorable. I am guessing at some point they are going to have to add Ana and Elsa to the mix?

I think you're absolutely right there. Midway is either take it or leave it. It's just less convenient for us.

We were pretty good at not blowing any gaskets. I mean, I'm not gonna lie, we came pretty close, but thankfully no explosions.

I definitely like the make your own pasta that they have there. I was so indecisive when we were there, that I just didn't know what to get.

Anytime! I loved standing on the ottoman. :rotfl:

It's really a beautiful room! I wish that we were staying there longer, but I'll take the one night that we got.

Awww, lol. We should definitely make plans! I'd love to meet you!

The details really are what makes the room. It was so beautiful.

Man, I would love my travel day to consist of driving an hour! How the other half lives, right? :lmao:

Out of the entire thing, I just couldn't stand being hangry. I could have handled everything else, but then adding the hunger...it just made it so much worse.

It's so beautiful! I was happy that I made the decision to book the room.

Glad you finally made it! Why does it seem that when one thing gets thrown out of whack there is a domino effect?!

Ugh, I know! And when we found out we were circling, I was afraid of the domino effect.

It actually wasn't a Thrifty employee that told us about the car, it was another person renting that I guess had tried to start it before.

Hahahahaha. Man, I never thought of shanking someone!

Following along!

:welcome:

I'm glad you're here!

:welcome:

I'm glad you're here!

Thankfully, we are pretty laid back people. Anyone less laid back would have likely gone postal.

Thanks! We have a lot of fun together on our trips.

Love the WI shirts. Cracks me up!

Those shirts just make me laugh, because I've lived near Wisconsin forever, and I've never associated cow tipping with Wisconsin. :lmao:

Oh man! I couldn't imagine being pregnant and having to go through that! I bet you were just wanted to run off the plane.

It is isn't Disney day without an adventure to get on property. :lmao:

I would have been bouncing off the plane walls at not landing and then the whole luggage thing!!!!! Madness I tell you.

That is absolutely true!

It was absolute insanity. I had been hoping to enjoy the room a bit more by arriving on time, but it is what it is. We were in Disney and that was all that mattered.

I loved that rug in the room. Although I constantly had the feeling I was going to trip on the tassles lol

Hahaha, that's too funny. I love the rug too.

Oh my goodness, the bad luck you had with your flight and then the luggage and then the car? Ugh. How you kept yourself from like losing it, I don't know, but I highly commend you. So much admiration. For you and your parents. I would have been so livid.

Thank goodness the food court was open and your CM was nice. That's something for the day going well.

Oooh Royal Rooms! I want to stay there someday. But we're cheap. That and I think I love POFQ to ever leave it when we do spring to a moderate. But the royal rooms are so beautiful but POFQ is so beautiful and it's home cause it was our first resort... I'll just stare at your pictures and consider it close enough for now.

Hi! I'm finally here, I'm sorry, I haven't been on the DIS in yearrrssss!!! :rolleyes1

Ugh, what an annoying start to your vacation. I think between the flight being late, the luggage chaos, and the rental car drama I would have had a mental breakdown right in the airport. I'm so tense in MCO, I have no patience and I HATE waiting for anything because I'm so anxious to get to Disney, I honestly don't know how you handled it! :rotfl2:

Ugh, Disney "experts" are the worst. It takes a lot to keep my mouths shut when I hear people giving other people wrong advice about Disney haha! :crazy2:

Oooh a royal room! Love them! I want to stay in one again SO bad, but of course, no POR for us peasants getting free dining this fall. Whatever. :confused3

Can't wait to read more!

Your name is Danielle, you have fabulous hair, crazy parents and your favorite ride is Haunted Mansion.

Yup, clearly we were meant to be related. Or perhaps were cosmically split at birth. Whatever, I'm in.

Yay for another TR!!!! We are at POR in October so I was way excited to see your pics!

So sorry for the rough start...and that woman on the plane. She needed a good throat punch. Then the family in the hallway...right there with you...seriously???

Can't wait for the rest!

Finally we landed after 8:30pm. And we sit on the tarmac. The captain said that since all flights had been grounded and none were allowed to land, we had to wait for a gate to open up. And we waited. And waited. And waited. For over 30 minutes before we even got to the gate.

I was losing my mind.

I think waiting for a gate after you land is so annoying! You're so close, yet not able to get all the way to WDW!

Being claustrophobic, I am so very ready to get off the plane. Inside, I am jumping up and down and wanting to tell everyone to sit still while I get off, but I manage to control myself and wait my turn. I breathe a huge sigh of relief, though, when I finally disembark.

And I got a magic cookie bar!

Yum! Too much and too rich, but great for sharing....and yum. :thumbsup2

I booked us in a Royal Room! Woo hoo!

Our girls would love that Royal Room! ::yes::

It really felt like such a disaster of a day, that I was afraid it was going to be a sign of how the entire trip was going to go!

Aww, thanks. I'm actually pretty good at staying calm during tense situations. Just a trait I guess. :lmao:

I totally get it! I just wanted to see the Royal Room, but we're DVC members, so I can't justify the cost for an entire trip. We normally stay on points, but in this case, we needed on extra night. POFQ is beautiful, I do love that resort.

Hahaha, no worries! I know, it totally feels like that sometimes, doesn't it?

I was kind of surprised I didn't have a breakdown to be honest. It totally could have happened at any moment.

I can't handle Disney "experts". They just absolutely drive me up the wall.

I was so glad to finally get to WDW. Hoping that this was not a sign of things to come. :rotfl::rotfl:

Me too! :lmao:
