They Don't Eat Hash Browns in Princessland - May 14 COMPLETE! 2/8 pg. 73

I know a lot of times, when you're stuck in a plane on departure day, you're irritated because you just want to get the heck home. You know your bed and creature comforts are right outside the airport.
But I don't know, being delayed in your Disney arrival sounds pretty bad. all you wanna do is start your dang vacation! And add to that you've been working all day and living off a yogurt, and I could only imagine you three's patience was virtually gone.

Glad you all eventually made it to your room and got some grub. Those royal rooms look amazing. Every time I see pictures of them I want to stay there!
I had no idea you actually got a physical scroll to keep. Nice touch. :thumbsup2

Oh! And your dog...is adorable!

Those are the exact emotions that were going on for me at that time. I just wanted to be on vacation! I had a crap few weeks at work and I really needed the break. But, it all ended fine and the rest of the trip was awesome, so it wasn't so bad.

We really loved the room. I wish we could have stayed there longer, but with DVC it's just not meant to be.

Awww, thanks! She's a pretty girl.

AHHH I LOVE THAT THAT FIRST GIF!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Haha, funny that I like to arrive at Disney early, but for the same reason.

Aww such a beautiful dog.

I actualy love overhearing incorrect Disney information. It makes me feel smart.

WOW, that is a painful way to arrive in Florida. But at least the Hulk gif is giving me a seizure, lol. Honestly I would have been freaking out. One of my worst nightmares is lost luggage.

Thank God you finally made it. What an ordeal. But to finally arrive at a Royal Room with that headboard (that I would totally be playing with non stop I'm sure). Ahhh, I can breathe.

Well since you're the one that introduced me to that gif, I would hope you liked it. I came across it and it worked for the narrative, so I said why not!

I really like arriving the night before. I just like getting there outside of normal operating hours, so I don't feel like I'm missing anything, since nothing was open anyway! :rotfl2:

Lost luggage is a fear of mine, but at the same time, I figure nothing will get in the way of my vacation, so whatever!

You and my Mom would get along swimmingly, because she was playing with it non-stop. In the middle of the night too when she couldn't sleep. :rolleyes2

Yikes! What a travel day adventure! Sounds like almost anything that could go wrong did go wrong. I have to comment and say that I hadn't noticed that Em was TSA pre-check for our Dec Disney trip and I wasn't. When they said that one of us was TSA pre-check I assumed me since I fly a lot on business. It was her. Doh!

The Royal room is quite impressive. I love all the details. Who wouldn't want one of those light up magical headboards? :thumbsup2

i think i would of flipped out and had a panic attack had that flight fiasco happened to me. i absolutely hate losing disney time. but i guess it's a good thing yous all made it in one piece ;)

I got TSA pre check on the way home. It was pretty awesome!

Ugh to the extra long flight. Had the same thing happen to us last June. You just know you are circling and circling and you feel like you might never land. And then you finally get off the plane and its insanity. So not fun!

and then the whole car fiasco. Not fun at all!

But your room is beautiful even though it was only for one night. It's totally gorgeous and girly and all that.

Love the make your own pasta. So delish!

Oh man! That must have been so frustrating! I hate being late and especially when your going to Disney, easier to take when your heading home but when your eager to get there? :furious:

I also hate lines and crowds....of course lines and crowds actually IN Disney are very different and I don't count them. lol. I would have been ready to smash too!

Happy that you got there though and got to eat. Yay for Royal room! Soooo many details! How awesome!

Oh wow what a nightmare flight, I would have been totally flipping at the delay if it happened to us, after a 9 hour flight things would not have been pretty :rotfl2:

Your Royal room looks so pretty, I love the scroll :)

Woohoo I have been waiting to hear this story. I usually just lurk around but this time I thought I would say hi. Your TR are the best I love all your writing makes me feel there with you. Just have to say Thank you for that. Now on to a great read.

35 minutes to Milwaukee airport! Are you in a far northern suburb? We normally fly out of Midway and have never had too much trouble. I'd take it anyday over O'Hare.

I hate when there are delays and things go wrong and there's nothing you can do. At least you were able to make it before the food court closed.

I love that princess room!

I like reading travel updates! All of the anticipation building up! I have to say that that is the only thing I don't like about Florida: the storms :scared1: I'm such a scaredy cat. Oh my goodness that room is AMAZING! Can't wait to read more!

It definitely was an adventure. A lot went wrong, but in the end, the destination was Disney, so I guess it was all okay.

I'm totally confused by this TSA pre-check thing. I don't know how they're picking people! Flying a lot on business would totally make sense to me. LOL

The rooms are really lovely. The headboard is absolutely beautiful. A definite place for a girlie girl.

I'm a pretty calm person, but this pressed me pretty far. Thankfully I never had a meltdown at any point. But boy I came close. :lmao:

I'm sure it was! I totally want to be that person!

Yup, that's exactly what it felt like. And I knew after we got off of the plane by the crowds that were at the gates that it wasn't going to be a fun evening.

The room made it really nice. I knew where we were heading, so I was just looking forward to it. I would have liked more time at the resort, but that's okay.

It was really good! I was hungry but also didn't want to eat a ton at midnight, which is why I stuck with the kids meal.

I hate lines and crowds too! But not as bad at Disney. Funny, right?

The details in the Royal Room are crazy! There's just so many of them, it really took me a minute to let it all sink in.

The closest issue I've had with an overseas flight that was similar was when we had to layover on our trip home from France to Philadelphia. The flight landed, but the customs and passport control situation was a nightmare! We ended up missing our connecting flight by 15 minutes, so we were stuck another 3 hours until the next one. Not ideal after flying over 8 hours.

I'm glad that you decided to come out of lurkdom!

Thank you so much for the compliments! It really means a lot. :cloud9:

Yup, we're in a northern suburb. 40ish minutes from O'Hare (without traffic) and 40ish minutes from Milwaukee. Getting to Milwaukee has a lot less traffic issues than going to O'Hare, so it takes us less time. Midway is the furthest for us at over an hour. I love Midway the actual airport. It's just a bit less convenient and I'm not a huge fan of the area. I'm not a huge fan of O'Hare either. :rolleyes2

I was so grateful that I had dinner. The most grateful I've ever been for macaroni and cheese. :rotfl2:

We were so lucky on this trip and didn't have to contend with any storms at all! No rain while we were there. Obviously except for right before we landed. But we didn't know about it while we were up in the air.

YOU are my favorite TR writer!!!:worship: You make me smile, you make me laugh, you make me a Danielle wannabe. Its not just that you are younger, have better hair, better tshirts and a more fun family. Its not just cuz you get to go to WDW way more than I do. Well, ok, it IS some of those things, but I really love how funny you are. Thanks for sharing your trips!:)

SMASHing first day report. I love reading about travel days too. It's all part of the adventure. Love you and your Mom mocking Ms. Knowitall. Kind of reminds me of you guys texting when that man let one rip in a prior report.

Bad luck on the flight, luggage and car fiascos. But you made it. We were supposed to stay at POR in a royal room next week, but changed to WL. After all with a teen and preteen boy, I thought they would appreciate it more. Besides, I think the bunk bed will save some fights.

I get rally frustrated too with people who block pathways. No thought to anyone around them. We are planning a night with Yee Haa Bob this trip so we might just eat at the courtyard before hand. I really want to try the pasta.

Oh my goodness, thank you so much! It means so much to me that people enjoy reading along.

I agree, it's all part of the adventure and you have to get through it in order to get to the good stuff.

I think switching to WL will probably end up working out best for you. And good thinking on the bunk bed. :rotfl:

Yee Haw Bob is so fun! He was playing when we got in there, but we were so hungry we just had to get to the food.

I debated on how to play this out- I could go all creepy stalker like and proclaim my love for reading your reports and howwwwwwww badly I want to be in your family... Haha but instead ill pretend I'm super cool tell you that I'm non chalantly joining in  can't wait to hear about this adventure

I hate being hangry!!!! I can so relate to the "Danielle Smash!" comment!! :lmao: What an adventuresome trip down! But I adore that room!!! :lovestruc

Oh dear, that is quite an insane travel day! I'm sure it was unbelievably difficult having to actually go through it at the time, but it provided some really interesting stories for your TR! That food must've been unbelievably delicious after being hungry for so long!!!

Haha, I like that comment you made to the CM. Is there any other food item that has "magic" in it? Magic Shell?

Midway Airport! You either love it or hate it; I want to love it because of Southwest and cheaper flights, but I hate the airport itself and the landing on those small runways.

What a frustrating travel day from the plane not leaving on time, then not landing, then the luggage and the car. Oh my...I would have blown a gasket with that whole car scenario.

We ate at the POR's counter service once and I keep wanting to get back and we just never have. After seeing your food we must try to get there in September.

The Royal Rooms are gorgeous. Thank you for standing on the ottoman to get the picture of the border paper...it is adorable. I am guessing at some point they are going to have to add Ana and Elsa to the mix?
