Day 8 - Thursday May 22, 2014

I was super excited on this day. Mainly because it was the day before the 24 hour day! I have no idea why this day excited me in particular, but I think the excitement and looking forward to the 24 hour day was getting to me. I leapt out of bed this morning because I was all excited to get going!

The others in the group? Not so much. I was raring to go, and they were being slow!



Pop was being a slow poke sitting on the couch, putzing on the computer, paying bills. Like normal person stuff! Mom was getting ready, but being kinda slow for my liking.

To which I said "I have no problem going to Epcot ahead of you!"

Mom just wanted to get Pop moving, so she said that we were going to leave and he could meet us there.

See, if I look back, he was procrastinating because his leg was still hurting, but he refused to say anything about it! Stubborn stubborn man!

So Mom and I headed out ahead of him. I texted Missy to let her know that we were on our way to Epcot. She was having breakfast at Akershus that morning, but I figured we would meet up at some point along the way.

Oh, and in case anyone is curious, I did my makeup with the new Beautifully Disney palette that I had purchased the night before.





Mom and I took a leisurely walk to the International Gateway. I love this part of staying at the Boardwalk.



Since we had nothing else going on at the moment, we figured we would just take some pictures. I mean, why not, right?





As we were heading into the park, Captain Hook and Smee were just wandering around the International Gateway area. Well, I mean, of course we're going to say hi!

And I had an incredible interaction. Smee was ridiculously excited to see me.





And Smee had to give me a thumbs up to my bag, which had Maleficent on it.



So Hook of course had to see it.



And then we talked about the 24 hour party, and how much fun it would be.



So I decided that I had to tell them that I was going to the 24 hour party dressed as Peter Pan.



At that moment, I had to plead my case to Hook, because he wasn't too happy with the fact that I was going to be Peter Pan.



But he forgave me in the end, and let me take a picture with them.



Then it was Mom's turn. You can really see how absolutely excited Smee was.







For real, what a perfect way to start the day! And there was absolutely no one around them, so we didn't even have to wait in line. That's an extra score!

And of course, after that interaction, we had to stop at one of my favorite PP locations.

Continued from previous post:



Pop texted us at that point that he was on his way. Finally he was up and moving!



Pop finally met up with us and asked if we could go get some Starbucks. I mean, I'm not going to say no to coffee!

Plus, it gives me an opportunity to take a picture of Spaceship Earth on a beautifully clear day.



And we saw another PP photographer, so why not! I mean, you gotta make sure you get your money's worth with Memory Maker.







And surprise surprise surprise. I'm the goober in these not Popadon!





Come on! You know you want to be a dork like me!



Soon, my lovely iced coffee was in hand. Venti non-fat white mocha. Mmmmmmm.

AND! Pop buckled and he got iced coffee! He agreed that the iced version of his drink was really tasty. I told him! Man, took him long enough to figure that out!

As we were sitting there drinking our coffee, Pop admitted to us that his leg was still hurting. We told him that it was okay if he sat out again. We wouldn't judge him at all.

I know at this point that his pride was hurting a little bit. I know my Pop well, and he's a "let me push through this to the point of hurting myself seriously" kind of guy. Mom and I were both glad that he admitted his leg was still hurting. He told us it felt better than it had felt on other days, but that he would be better served having it up for the day.

My Pop needed to be well for the 24 hour day!!! I was a little nervous at that point. I was really hopeful that the extra day was going to help him.

After we parted ways, Mom and I decided that we would head to the Character Spot, since the wait time was only 10 minutes.

However. I am irritated that Donald isn't in there anymore. I might need to have a good cry and eat my feelings.



I guess these guys will have to do. *sigh*









Mom seems to have a repeat pose with Goofy. Always messing with his whiskers.







Meeting Minnie always cracks me up. Mainly because I'm a giant and she's so tiny.





No, for real though. Hugging Minnie for me, is like this.



All in all a very fun and productive morning so far! We had so many meets already, and the day had just begun.

I'm all caught up! It was a combination Disney trip - back from Disney trip blues that kept me away from the DIS for a few weeks, but here I am! I know you were really concerned.

Just a few comments:

I have heard Gaston is a great character interaction. I missed him this time, crap! Oh well, another time.

I'm sorry to hear your Dad's leg was acting up. My dad does the same thing - pushes through it to the point he REALLY gets injured.

As usual, your clothes and makeup are perfection - so so cute!!

I LOVED the selfies with Tink. I think seeing Tink do a duck-lips selfie might be the best thing I've seen all month. Love, love, love.

Can't wait to hear about the 24 hour party!! Next year I WILL be there.

My favorite Starbucks drink is a non-fat black and white mocha, as I find the regular mocha too bitter, and the white mocha a bit too sweet. Mixed together is just right for me! And it's really delicious iced as well! I'm really glad your Pop decided to try it and ended up liking it - daughters know best!
