They Don't Eat Hash Browns in Princessland - May 14 COMPLETE! 2/8 pg. 73

Dinosaaaaaaur! So much fun. I love it too.

I like your picture, even though your mom does look a little crazy.

Lunch looks like it was great.

Well aren't you a bit of a goober? ;) A fab goober though.

Hmm where were you going? Maybe Beaches and Cream? I'm not sure.

It's so much fun! One of my favorite rides ever.

She does look crazy. It helps that she is crazy.

Lunch was yummy. Yak and Yeti's servings are always so huge I just prefer the sides.

I am a goober!!! And I own my fabulous gooberness.

I didn't know there was a Wolfgang Puck Restaurant upstairs? Where they heck have I been :upsidedow The food looks really delicious though! I'll have to check this out on another trip. I currently have Raglan Road for dinner when we're at DTD so maybe next time![/quote[

For reals though, it's so easy to miss it. I think it's because it's on the west side and people don't pay as much attention to what's on that side.

Cute car! Glad it got repaired but poor popadon.

Many a times i've waited in that exact spot you're standing in Ghirardelli. Closet to the counter:thumbsup2

Put anytpe of sugar in my hands, it will be demolished in a matter of minutes. And i'm proud of my talent! :lmao:

I know, he felt so horrible about dropping the bike on it and then the paid he had from the strain lasted him a while.

I'm always in that spot at Ghirardelli! LOL.

I am the same way! Sugar, and I devour it super quickly.

:rotfl::rotfl2:Oh popadon and his 'mickey head'!

Awesome TSMM score! I've only gotten past 200,000 a few times but i'm determined to get as high as you one day!

Perfect EE picture!:worship:

Ick, I don't understand grumpy people at WDW.:rolleyes2

I ALWAYS look forward to your Dinosaur pics. You have the best ones! Especially when you're looking the complete opposite of the camera, just like this one! :lmao:

I always aim to get past 200,000 when I play TSM. I'm aiming for over 250,000 on a regular basis.

Hahaha, thanks! I try so hard to do stupid things on Dinosaur, but seriously, I'm running out of options.

I fortunately do not feel the pressure to do clever ride photos, because I so rarely know where they are! I know the Splash Mountain one, but the others allude me. Happy to keep it that way!

Hope Pop is ready to join the fun in the next installment! I am going to guess Yachtsman for dinner!

I know where they all are and I totally feel the pressure to do something clever! Oh the pressures of knowledge.

Love the dinosaur rid pics. I'm such a dullard I have no idea where they are and if I did no chance I'd remember. So I just continue to look like an idiot on ride photos all without trying.

I didn't realize the up peeps were even in AK. Gonna have to try and find them on our trip next week.

Glad to see pops will be joining back in soon, not that you gals aren't a riot on your own.

I'm gonna vote beaches n cream for dinner.

It's okay not knowing where they are. Once you know where they are, the spontaneity is gone!

You are definitely going to have to find Russell and Dug. They meet in Discovery Island near It's Tough to be a Bug.

Great Dinosaur picture!!! I'm gonna try Primeval Whirl for the first time this January. It can't be any worst than Mission: Puke for me :)

BTW, I'm reading TRs during this sad sad Packer game. Oye...

Ok. I've fallen behind on the boards this past month due to some very unexpected twists in life but I think I'm all caught up now.

I love your shirt you wore to universal that is hilarious.

Your ride photos are too funny. I never know where the cameras are so I would never be able to plan that. Even when I think I know where it is I still don't. :)

I kinda feel the same way about the safari. The first one I went on in January we saw everything so not sure I need to go on it again. But since my trip in September has turned into a solo trip I might take a relaxing cruise around the safari.

What a fun day in animal kingdom. Can't wait to see where dinner is. Not even going to take a guess because I'll be wrong.

... But here is the Star Wars nerd in me. The names should be reversed. Because Darth Vader's lightsaber is red. I'm sorry, it's only appropriate that the red drink be the dark side, not the blue one. COME ON GUYS!

Okay, I'm reading the whole report bit by bit and ^^this drives me to finally comment:

I KNOW, RIGHT? I thought the same thing when I saw the picture of your menu.

As a side note, I learned last night that my sister in law used to work in The Land. Really. Jaime, I hardly knew ye....

You make me look forward to our first trip (ever) next year, though I will say I hope I'm not like the first-timers of ire in line behind you.

Also I love Popadon. :lovestruc

Over the past few days, I've read your TR from start to current. I'm sorry I've missed your TRs in the past! I love your writing style and you and your parents are a great team! And Popadon? Well he needs his own thread on the DIS :rotfl: :thumbsup2

Your mom's face on Dinoasaur is priceless. She looks so zoned out.:rotfl:

Mmm. Yes, those egg rolls are delicious. Perfect in-between meal food. Man, now I want some of them.

Dug and Russell are awesome. Probably one of the best character meet and greets in AK. Glad you got to do it. Looks like you had a great interaction with them, too. Your mom seemed to be in a serious convo with Russell. :lmao:

Hi Danielle! Glad you survived the camping!!!

Oh, I LOVE the R2 MB cover thingy.

Love your pics with Russell and Dug - it really looks like you all were just having a grand old time.

Hahaha, thanks!

Primeval Whirl isn't horrible, but it's just not a must do for me.

Oy is right with that game. Super irritating.

We've all fallen behind at some point, so I totally get it. Hope everything in life has evened out for you.

I do the safari every few trips. Don't need to do it every time, and sometimes it depends on who's on the trip with us.

Okay, I'm reading the whole report bit by bit and ^^this drives me to finally comment:

First off, I have to say that I love your DIS name. Nice shout out to Game of Thrones. :thumbsup2

Second :welcome:

I'm glad you founds something to comment on!

Ugh, that whole thing with the naming of the drinks and their color is just irritating. It's so off!

You're already on the DISboards, so I'm going to go out on a limb here and say you definitely will not be like the first timers behind us. :rotfl2:

I'm seriously going to have to create a Popadon fan club.

:welcome:

I'm very glad that you're here and caught up now! :thumbsup2 We definitely are a great team. I love traveling with them, and I'm pretty sure they like traveling with me.

Hahaha, a Popadon thread!

She totally looks zoned out! She looked all crazy in that picture, it just cracked me up.

Egg rolls are a perfect little meal. So yummy.

Mom was having a totally serious talk with Russell. Like, they were connecting.

Hi Danielle! Glad you survived the camping!!!

Oh, I LOVE the R2 MB cover thingy.

Love your pics with Russell and Dug - it really looks like you all were just having a grand old time.

Thanks Roni, I totally did survive camping!

We were having a great time, I'm so glad we decided to meet them.

Mmmmmn egg rolls and African Amber! I swear, when we used to do the dining plan those were the best snack credit!!!!

The egg rolls mind you :)

Fun update!

Fun update!

They are a great snack credit! Yak and Yeti is one of the reasons I didn't like the dining plan, because I couldn't create my meal a la carte with a CS credit. :rotfl2:

Don't I wish the beer was a snack credit. :lmao:

What great fun with your mom! Glad you dad's leg was feeling better when you got home.

Love the egg rolls there.

Ok, I am going in totally random stream of consciousness order here. Can you tell? :confused3

Funny pic of your mom on Dinosaur. The forced sleep look works well on her. :rotfl2:

I have to agree that When you've seen one safari, you've seen them all - well, except where the LION is concerned.

Really cute PP pictures with the Wilderness Explorers - looks like a blast.

Probably someone already guessed your correct dinner location, but I'm going with Flying Fish simply because its a personal fav!

Oh and the magic band bling is totally cute!

Day 6 - Tuesday May 20, 2014 continued.

We had rejoined Pop at the hotel and all decided to take a relaxing break in the pool and japoolzi to ease our muscles. Pop said that relaxing for the day had helped his leg out a lot. The pain wasn't completely gone, but he was definitely much better than he had been.

At that point, it was time for us to start to get ready for our very early dinner reservation. The reservation was for about 4:45pm, and it was in the area, so we were able to walk there, which was nice. :thumbsup2

I was able to put on another fabulous Disney Hot Topic outfit for the evening.

We were all ready to go and headed out of the hotel to start walking. The temperature was still pretty high that day. During the week it just continued to climb up. By the end of the week, we were in the high 90's. That's Florida for you!

Where were we headed on this fine evening?

My favorite Disney resort.

This resort has been elusive for me from a reservation perspective for us to stay here. I'm hoping beyond hope that I can get this resort for my May SWW trip with my brother. The P's don't own quite enough points in it to book 11 months in advance since the contract was an add on. So it always slips through my fingers! Gah!

Can you smell the Beach Club smell? I'm sure you can.

So where were we eating today?

One of my favorite restaurants on property. Mainly for the ice cream.

I do like the fact that this restaurant takes dining reservations now. Makes things a little bit easier when it comes to getting in there, since the place is so small.

Of course, since it's Beaches and Cream, and you really don't order much else there, we all ordered burgers. Except I went a little crazy and ordered onion rings. What?!

Now, there was a table of six next to us, and they ordered TWO kitchen sinks. Their server looked at them like they had lost their ever loving minds. He had to say to them "that's a lot......"

I have to say, I was impressed, because they did a decent amount of damage to the two of them.

Because we are our crazy family, apparently when Mom and Pop were sitting there after eating but waiting for our dessert, Pop challenged Mom to a staring contest.

Now, you don't want to challenge my Mom to a staring contest. She will always win, and will not crack a smile. Don't believe me?

Pop was already trying to cheat by getting her to laugh.

Then he got serious.

And fell apart, because you WILL NOT WIN AGAINST MOM!

At that point, I figured it was time for them to have a little dessert. My parents are like my children. I have to keep them in line at all times, otherwise look out!

Pop ordered a basic scoop of vanilla ice cream. I mean, I'm not going to bore you will with a picture of a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Why do you ask?

Because I have a picture of a No Way Jose!

Let's examine this from another angle, shall we?

This is one of my favorite Disney desserts on property. Yes, I understand that this is just ice cream and blah blah blah. But you just don't understand. Chocolate and vanilla ice cream, warm peanut butter, hot fudge, whipped cream.

This for me beats Ghirardelli. I know I know! Some people might say that what I just said was sacrilege, but it totally does. Now, I can't eat this thing all by myself.

Rewind that.

I SHOULDN'T eat this thing all by myself, so I split it with Mom.

We almost had a spoon fight over it at some point. She lost. We don't need to revisit it.

Let's just say this was Mom and I when she tried to raise her spoon to finish the bottom.....

Don't worry. We all made it out in one piece and Mom did the responsible thing. She allowed me to finish the sundae. That's right!

Tummies completely full from our amazing dinner, it was time for us to head out. I had discussed with Mom and Pop wanting to go to the Magic Kingdom for some late night antics. They were thinking about if they wanted to go. I said again that I was totally fine going by myself. Because we hadn't even been to the Magic Kingdom yet! And it was day 6!

We made our way out of the resort and starting heading back to the Boardwalk.

We relaxed in the room for a little bit to allow our food to settle in. At that point, I said that I was ready to get going to the park. Mom opted out and said she wanted to put her feet up for the night. Pop said that he would come along for the ride as long as I didn't walk to fast for his leg.

We headed down to the bus stop and were at the Magic Kingdom in no time.

Bunny! See, I get so distracted by things when I'm supposed to be walking into a park for the night!

Continued from previous post:

Soon after I got over my bunny distraction, we were heading inside. Ahhhhhh!!! My Magic Kingdom!!!!!

And, because we were there and had a Memory Maker to take advantage of, we figured we would take some good old father daughter pictures.

I'm telling you right now, at some point in time the man always does something completely random in a picture. Like, why are you pointing at me? Yes...I'm standing next to you. #popadonproblems

Of course, since we were in the Magic Kingdom for the first time, what was the thing I needed to do?

Hit a store.

I can't help it!!!! I didn't buy anything, but I feel this uncontrollable urge to just wander around.

And put on hats. Kathy, Mark should totally put on this hat!

I saw a lovely phone case, but I'm sorry, I have a hard time buying these phone cases from Disney for $40 when I can get one from Hot Topic for $12.

And then. Wait for it. Just wait for it.

Aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh!!!! (That's the heaven's parting).

I'm a fan of this shot, with dusk settling and the sun starting to go down.

So we had no major mission on this night, we were literally just wandering around, taking in the atmosphere. That's what I love to do.

And then I heard the Mine Train running.

This may have been me running through Fantasyland at that exact moment.

OMG. That's a train in the background!

With people on it!

Oh no. Those weren't just people on that Mine Train.

Those were Cast Members.

Well that was a let down. It was a CM only preview. That's just like dangling something in front of my face and snatching it away right before I can grab it. Grrrrrrrr.

A ride on the Mine Train on this particular evening was not in the cards for us.

So instead, I decided that a Foo's Boo was.

I figured that if I couldn't ride the Mine Train I would at least drown my sorrows in this lovely drink.

After taking our time and Pop allowing me to finish my drink, I asked him to give up his man card and ride the Little Mermaid with me.

He's such a good Pop.

There was pretty much no wait, which was a total score!

Every time I see Scuttle holding the accordion, I want to start singing a Whale of a Tale......

Continued in next post:

Continued from previous post:

We continued through our ride under the sea.

Ariel totally looks like she's shocked by something in this picture. Like "whoa.....that's what legs look like?!"

And now she just looks.................

wasty face. That's what it is.

After we left the Little Mermaid, we just didn't know what to do with ourselves. This is a common problem with my Pop and I. I don't want to seem like I'm taking control, and you ask him:

Me: What do you want to do?

Pop: I don't care.

Me: No, seriously, what do you want to do?

Pop: I don't know. Hmmmmmm.......

For real. On and on this would go if you allow it. So normally, I make the decisions, because otherwise we would be having that conversation for the entire night, every 10 minutes or so.

So I made a choice.

Pop needed to do some workout's pre-spin, because it had been a while for us.

He concentrated really hard.

He got us spinning pretty fast.

And this next sequence. I just......there are no words.

This my friends is what you would get if you were on the teacups with Popadon. I'm issuing fastpasses for this into next year already, so if you'd like a ride with him, let me know.

After we were spun into oblivion, we figured we would take a different kind of spin.

Buzz totally looks like he's having a complete and utter brain fart here.

I tried and failed to take a selfie of us. It's a bit dark.

I was on a mission to regain my galactic hero status, and Pop wanted me to tell him what to hit. I got mine quickly, and Pop was doing better than he normally does.

This is my face after I get 999,999.

And then we got stuck here. So Pop was able to work on increasing his points. Good on ya Pop.

His final score of the day.

Continued from previous post:

So we leave Buzz Lightyear to go and get our ride photo. And continuing with the tradition we've created of a bored ride photo once you hit 999,999, I opted for something a little different than texting.

And this leads me into one of the most irritating CM experiences I've had. So I go up there and she pulls the picture up. And asks me if I really wanted the photo. I said "yes, I want the photo, why would I not?" So she scans my band. And I say "um....can I get my galactic hero button?"

So she rolls her eyes at me. Literally rolls her eyes at me!

She wanders around and finds one finally. So I ask her for tape so I can cover the marker. And she rolls her eyes at me again!

Well guess what crabby non-magical Cast Member.

After an exhausting ride on Buzz, what is the best way to end your evening at the Magic Kingdom?

Oh yes, and my button that I'm so proud of! That thing took some effort and crabbiness.

The coolest thing ever happened on this Peoplemover excursion. We were rounding the bend, and passing by another car of 20 something guys. They were all excited, hootin' and hollerin' on the ride. They started sticking their hands out to try to get a high five from a passing car.

So my Pop, being the awesomesauce that he is. Totally reached over and high fived them.

They FREAKED out! Starting shouting at him "you're the best!!!!!!"

He was quite proud of himself in that moment. It was too funny though. I didn't think he'd be able to reach, but he sure did.

Disney. We apologize for breaking any rules.

We rolled up into Space Mountain and look at that. The lights were on.

We had thought about doing Space Mountain, but seeing that the lights were on, indicating that it was down at that point, told us otherwise. After we completed being peoplemoved around Tomorrowland, we decided that we would call it a night. We wanted to get out of the park before Wishes started. We weren't planning on watching it at this point yet, we wanted to wait for Mom. So we headed out to the front of the park. Celebrate the Magic was starting, which was kind of cool.

The bus came pretty quickly after we got to the stop and we were back at the hotel in no time. Mom was actually sleeping and didn't get up when we came in, which is unheard of for her. We tried to be really quiet, and we didn't want to wake her up. We wanted to get to bed quickly. Because we had to be back to the Magic Kingdom in the morning.

Up next: I'm famous!

All caught up again :)

Yes we definitely hope we can meet up in Nov :thumbsup2

We've stayed at the BC/BCV and YC and they are all amazing. I hope you can get BCV in May. That area is my absolute favorite!

I love the pics of you and your mom with Dug. He is one of my favorites because he reminds me of our Riley. She acts just like him when she sees a squirrel :rotfl:

The pics of Popadon on the teacups are awesome. So much fun!

Congrats on the Galactic Hero! :thumbsup2 I didn't know you can get a button for that.

Thanks for the fun updates :)

Danielle! I honesty have no idea if I've even commented on this TR yet because I've been such a slackmaster lately as far as commenting goes. But in case I have not commented yet (not that I'd expect you to remember either way, hahah) I just wanted to say that I've been reading along and laughing as usual! I'm gonna do my best to be a legit commenter soon! :)

Mega update is an understatement. I'd love to comment on how Much I'm jonesing for on onion rings right now or how much I love your Alice top or moms infinite starring ability or even the bunny, but papadon on the tea cups cannot be topped. Lemme know when the 60 day fast pass mark hits so I can reserve my front row seat next trip. If that is not their Christmas card photo then I'm gonna use it ; )

I totally thought Popadon was shooting the photographer his middle finger in that MK shot!! I am glad you said he was just pointing at you!!

I love when SM has the lights on! Another awesome ride on Wedway!

I can't believe you got a double eye roll! I felt a lot of CM seemed unhappy on my last trip and were on the verge of eye rolls, but your crossed that line!
