They Don't Eat Hash Browns in Princessland - May 14 COMPLETE! 2/8 pg. 73

It's kind of a drag! :rotfl2: not enough to justify more points but still...

Exactly. We'll totally do it rarely, but I'm all for more bang for my points. :lmao:

We have the opposite problem with the red eye, which is why ready early is magical when it happens.

We actually barely even have red-eyes to Florida from Chicago. Who knows why. :confused3

:thumbsup2

that is a great time, best of both worlds! Not remotely close to my dates though, boo

Awwww, boo! Oh well, at least we'll see each other at the Princess. :thumbsup2

If it's there in the fall I may get it but I seem to recall a different starch option in france for F&W

Yeah, it probably is something different for F&W. I found that the F&G foods were "fresher". Maybe, maybe not. Perhaps I'm just making that up. :rotfl:

I hear you there. My minor in comparison bunion/blister/callus issues have felt like a training set back and as a former non runner as well I always worry I'll simply fall off the wagon if I'm not careful.

That's what I'm afraid of! I hate losing momentum, and you know what it's like! You're in that space when you're loving running. You know what I mean. I was in that place where I was looking forward to every single run.

I'm excited, and terrified! I need all the time between now and then for more warm temp running, I am simply not acclimated and it's not that warm out yet.

You'll be awesome!

I end up with bruises all over and no clue how I got them! LOL.

And apparently I break toes. :rotfl2:

Not at all, you were looking for Mary Ellen so I could see you not spotting me.

I was actually looking for both of you, so I think not seeing the two of you together threw me. What a doofus.

not exaggerating an iota

There are some fun ones, I am looking forward to it

ALMOST makes me want a baby around. Almost. Not really. :rotfl2:

Yup, that is exactly what my Pop is like. It's hysterical.

Hahahaha, almost makes you want a baby, but not quite. My Mom used to say that all the time.

Miracle Whip is not Mayo! ;)

Ugh, tell me about it. And then they have commercials trying to say it's better than may. Um, heck no!

aw Danielle I am so sorry about your toe

On the plus side, maybe you can take care of a whole bunch of other stuff now so that when you can run (which is hopefully in 3 weeks) you can totally focus on that and get back to kicking bum!

So great you've had all these DISmeets so much fun! Man, May is F&GF, Star Wars Weekends, and DISers visiting

Thanks Phil. It kind of sucks, but it will get better.

Once I can get my foot in a shoe (which was supposed to be 7 to 10 days), I'm going to go back to the gym and concentrate on a bunch of different things, like weights and such. Then I'll be focused!

May is tons of fun! Aaaaahhhh, the trip was so awesome.

Ohhhh man, I am sooo sorry about your toe! That really sucks! Hope it heals up really fast!
What a fantastic Dismeet you all had! I love the group Photopass pictures, Popadon being a goof as always, just perfect.
And then another Dismeet with Alicia and family! You guys were on a roll! I remember sitting home looking at Facebook and thinking I was the only person from the tr boards NOT at Disney then! :rotfl:
And you got a ride in too. I'm excited to hear all about Star Wars weekends.

Sent from my iPad using DISBoards

Uggggghhh, I know! It's terrible. But, I'm hopeful it will heal fast and I'll be back out there in no time.

We had so much fun just taking the pictures. Mary Ellen said she really wanted to get a PP with Popadon, so of course we had to oblige. We were on a roll! Believe me, I've totally seen people on FB posting all of the time and I'm not there either. It sucks. :rotfl2:

Joining in!! :wave2:

Sorry about your toe. As a runner I can understand not wanting to take 6 weeks off, but hopefully it will be better in 3 instead!:goodvibes

:welcome: I'm glad that you're here!

I'm being hopeful that it's better in three weeks. I'm also a realist and don't want to push anything too hard, so I'll just go with what the Ortho says.

Just hopped over here from Mary Ellen's TR and am all caught up! I'm loving the TR so far and can't wait to read more. I really don't feel like working today so maybe I'll head over to your January one next. :thumbsup2

I'm glad you're here! Often I don't feel like working either, so read away. :rotfl:

I can't believe I just now noticed you had started your new TR!

Joining in! :cool1:

I'm glad you're here!

Score on a getting a room early!

Your dad sounds like such a crack-up! And I love that he totally enjoys DIS meets, just as much as you.

Yay for F&W this year!:cool1:

I had no idea that they had food booths at this F&G festival:blush: That duck looks very delicious!

So sorry about your toe. Aw man, I really hope they can clear you to run sooner than later.

LOVE THE COIN PURSE!

:rotfl:HAHa I love that your dad is in the middle of the photopass pictures, just being a total ham!

Yay to another DIS meet. So much fun!

He really does enjoy DISmeets! He was so excited about them the entire time on vacation.

I'm totally excited about F&W. I will totally take advantage of the entire thing!

Thanks hon. I'm really hopeful that they will okay me sooner too. I can't deal with not running for six weeks. Like, just no.

OMG, isn't that coin purse the best! I just love it so much!

He was having a good old time being the center of attention the entire time. He just lives for it.

I came on over from MEK's TR and am so glad I did! :thumbsup2 Great start to your report! Sorry the travel was a mess; I for one cannot wait until the days when we can teleport to our destinations and don't have to deal with the airlines. A girl can dream, right?! :upsidedow

Those are GREAT Photopass pictures of you all, how fun!!

:welcome:

I'm so glad you're here! She was so sweet giving me a little shout out in her TR.

That travel day was a nightmare. I was so glad when it was over. Teleporting would be awesome!

We've stayed at the BCV's three times and love them. A villa spoils you for all other rooms, I think. I've said that I'd rather stay in a villa then club level and people think I'm nuts. But what's not to love? :lovestruc

We were at the F&G this year and I fell in love with the pink Grey Goose slushie. We are going back for F&W and I hope they have it again, or something similar.

We have budgets in October, too. I've booked a short trip at the end of October in spite of budgets. It just means that I'll have to get it done sooner. ;) We also booked in even shorter trip in Sept, just in case I can't get away in October. Why does work always seem to get in the way of having fun. :sad2:

The violet lemonade looked absolutely delicious as well as the other food you had. The amazing topiaries at the F&G festival are just awesome. I really missed seeing them this year as we won't be there for another year.

Some great Dismeets and such thoughtful gifts.

That really sucks about your toe! The good thing is, since you have a goal in a set time frame, you'll jump right back in. Happy healing!

Oh man. Broken toes suck. :( I'm so sorry to hear that - I hope it heals up soon!

I ADORE that coin purse. Love it. It's awesome and amazing and I want one.

And I really do adore the craziness that is your family. The photos are fantastic.

:welcome: I'm glad that you're here! I'm glad I had to cracking up along the way. My Pop is definitely the star of the show most of the time.

I definitely don't want to start from the beginning. I know I can already run 6 miles, so if I can get back out there running 4, I think I should be good to go. :thumbsup2

Maybe do the motions like you are running will keep you in shape! :lmao: Gotta trick the mind somehow.

It really does spoil you for other rooms. I really like what you get in the villas, as opposed to what you get in normal rooms.

I believe that the slushie they have during F&W is the Parisien Cosmo Slush, which is basically a cosmo in slushie form. It's really good though. I've had it.

Yeah, sadly I've been told that I can't go during that time of year. Oh well.

The violet lemonade looked absolutely delicious as well as the other food you had. The amazing topiaries at the F&G festival are just awesome. I really missed seeing them this year as we won't be there for another year.

Oh, it's so delicious! I was so happy that it was just as yummy as it is pretty.

The DISmeets were so much fun. They were all a huge highlight of my trip.

That really sucks about your toe! The good thing is, since you have a goal in a set time frame, you'll jump right back in. Happy healing!

I know! I do have a set time frame, and there's still plenty of time within what I'm given to accomplish everything. I just hate setbacks!

Loved all the Dis Meet pix !!!

It was so much fun!!!

You're from NWI? So am I. Where about? :-) I am in LOFS (Crown Point)

Don't you love meeting people from similar places here?

Oh man. Broken toes suck. :( I'm so sorry to hear that - I hope it heals up soon!

I ADORE that coin purse. Love it. It's awesome and amazing and I want one.

That coin purse is awesome. Make sure you go and check her out on Facebook. :thumbsup2

Hahaha, thanks! We just have tons of fun. I mean, what is life if you can't have fun, right?

Maybe do the motions like you are running will keep you in shape! :lmao: Gotta trick the mind somehow.

Bahahahaha. Right?! Hmmm......

First off, a huge :welcome: to all of my new readers. Thank you guys so much for joining and reading along. It means so much!

Day 2 - Friday May 16, 2014 Continued:

We had just left off having a third DISmeet for the day. Three in one day! How awesome was that! Man, talk about an awesome way to start out a trip. It was so exciting!!!!!!

After our awesome DISmeets, my goal was to go to Darth's Mall.

Yes. You read that right. Darth's Mall.

It was the mecca for all Star Wars Weekends merchandise. So I figured, why not head there on opening day?!

The thing that I really love about Star Wars Weekends is that a lot of characters just wander around aimlessly, like old school Disney. What's not to love about that?

Oh hey, what up Vader.

Now, if you've never been to Star Wars weekends before, Darth's Mall is located next to Toy Story Mania near the backlot. It's in the building that used to house Who Wants to be a Millionaire. I may or may not have been obsessed with that game back in the day when it was in Disney. My lifelong goal was to get up in the hot seat. It never happened.

Anyway, they house it in that building near the backlot that's essentially empty the majority of the time. And there is typically a wait to get in. The wait was about 15 minutes for us on this day. It's a lot like Comic-con with the layout. Just on a much smaller scale.

It can be overwhelming at first when you go in, and depending on the time of day, there may be a lot of people in there. In this particular instance, there were a lot of people there.

Of course, you get me in there and have Pop around and well. This stuff will start to happen.

I didn't get any other pictures inside, because I'll be honest, there were TONS of people there. We wanted to make quick work of it.

I had the cutest CM check me out. He held up his lightsaber for me to come down to his register, and immediately made a joke about how he'd been standing there holding it up forever, and it was about time I got there. I just chuckled at him.

He was ringing me up, and he commented on the amazingness that was the leggings I was purchasing. What leggings are those?

These leggings!

He said they were just totally awesome, and he asked if it would be weird if he got them. To wear around the house maybe. My response?

"I think you should do what you want and whatever makes you feel awesome."

He leans in to me at that point and says "Psssssttt.....I really like you...."

We laughed about it and I told him he would look utterly fabulous wearing the leggings, and he said he was totally going to get them after work. As he rung me up, we chatted about SWW and how crazy it is. I asked him to show me the Passholder merchandise.

CM: Well milady. We have this AMAHZING shirt in the lovely color of....poop. And pins. We have pins.

Me: Oh, well I don't think the AMAHZING shirt the color of poop is really my style, so let's take a look at the pins.

He was a great interaction and he seemed like he really enjoyed his job. I reiterated to him when I left that he should definitely get the leggings.

What goodies did I come away with?

A lot.

Both Mom and I bought the blind boxes for the Vinyls for that weekend. 9 in 10 were R2-MK, and 1 in 10 were R2-D2. We totally lucked out.

The most amazing Duffy ever!

And some limited release and Passholder pins.

I have to get coffee mugs. I have far too many, but this was special!

Some great stuff! Oh and obviously I got my awesome leggings.

On the way out, I had to get a shot of this. I mean, come on. It's Pete as Boba Fett.

As we were heading outside, we ran into Alicia and family again, so we chatted about the merchandise that we got in Darth's Mall and SWW in general. We had a pretty funny moment outside. Mom was showing them the items that she bought, and suddenly couldn't find one of the pins that she purchased. (Please note, she purchased a lot).

So she's digging in the bag, can't find this pin in there. So of course, she does what anyone would do in that moment.

THAT CM FORGOT TO PUT IT IN MY BAG!

She was ready. She was so ready to just storm in there and tell everyone what's up!

I grabbed the bag from her and pulled everything out of this. Alicia can totally attest to this, as they were still there. And what happened? Yup. The pin was totally stuck in the hat that she bought for my Pop.

Oh Momma.

Crisis averted, we decided to see if we could get a cute picture of Landon with Yeti.

This was literally right before Landon punched Yeti away. It.....was......awesome!

Continued in next post:

wow, those leggings are ... most impressive. Also, there are about 100 not-DIS-appropriate jokes going through my head right now related to them :lmao:

That special passholder pin with Chewie and the Falcon is really cool! :thumbsup2

... and that is just about the derpiest Cat ever

Great interaction with that CM - that's got to be a crazy job to have with all the crowds and the die hard fans that are often just a tad excited ... seems like he was keeping up a good attitude

Continued from previous post:

After Landon pretty much refused to socialize with Yeti at all, we figured it would be time to part ways. We still had to eat some dinner, and so did Alicia and her family. We said goodbye one last time and were on our way. It was so nice to run into them again.

We decided that since it was right in the area, we would eat at ABC Commissary. Sounds like my other TR, doesn't it?

We did what we always do. Mom grabs seats while Pop and I grab the food. What high-brow cuisine did I eat this evening?

Kids chicken nuggets. Ohhhhhhhh yeah.

Mom got her good old standby of a chicken salad.

And Pop had a shrimp platter.

But the crowning achievement of this was the beautiful cupcake.

The Vader cupcake!

Which of course inevitably leads to something like this.

The cupcake was good. A bit heavy because it's pretty much all chocolate with some peanut butter. But Mom and I shared it like we normally do. Pop of course had to get in on the act.

He's diabetic, so he doesn't eat sugar. So of course he had to do a demonstration of what would happen to him if he consumed any of this.

Dork extraordinaire. Our TSM FP was approaching at that point. Which led Pop to exercise his wrist.

Neither one of my parents are normal. I think we have established this over time.

Mom always rides with me, because she'll help me unlock easter eggs throughout the ride. She takes her job very seriously. Mainly because I threaten to maim her if she doesn't do her job.

Our scores?

I got best in vehicle!

Soon I will have the ridiculous scores in the stratosphere. This I promise you.

At that point, we decided to head back to the hotel to relax for a while. We had big plans that night. We had to meet everyone at Jellyrolls! Caitlin had told me that she would text me when they arrived at Jellyrolls, which she anticipated would be around 8:30pm. So, we headed back to the resort to relax for a while.

Aren't we cute?!

I did what I normally do while I relax, which is trip journaling. I also took all of the pictures of my purchases for that day, since I know you guys love that so much. Hahaha. Caitlin texted me at about 8:45pm to let me know that they had just arrived at Jellyrolls for the night and got a table for all of us. We got ready to head out and meet them down there.

I wore my favorite Disney dress.

Jellyrolls, for those of you who have not been, is a dueling piano bar. It's a ton of fun. There are always two pianists and singers there, and they take requests. They definitely encourage you to sing along to all of the songs.

We were there with Caitlin and her parents for a while before the rest of the crew arrived. Caitlin and family gave us Sanders Hot Fudge, which is awesome hot fudge from the Detroit area. It's amazing. Seriously, amazing stuff. Thank you guys so much!

We just drank and had a good time. Caitlin also ogled her favorite piano player. I totally understand why she crushes on him though. He's so talented!

Soon, Mary Ellen and Cynthia arrived and our party was complete.

I got only one picture of us together. It's not the best, but it's super dark in there.

Of course Pop is the only one looking like a complete derp.

This was one of the best nights we had on the entire trip. It was so fun to just sit there, enjoy the music, sing as loud as we could with all of the songs, and enjoy each others company. I think it's going to be a place to return to in the future. I'm thinking maybe we'll have to go back with Caitlin and family when our November trips overlap. ;)

We all parted ways around 11:30pm. Thankfully, we were the most fortunate of the bunch, as all we had to do was walk back to our room. Cynthia and Mary Ellen tried to get back into Epcot because of EMH, but they wouldn't let them in, so they had to head to the Beach Club to get a cab.

Caitlin and family had their cab stolen at the Boardwalk by some drunk people. (I promise, it was not me!).

I also subsequently got a series of messages later that we were lucky and they all wished they could have walked back to their hotel too. I completely agreed.

By far. This was one of my best Disney days EVER. I am so thankful for the friendships that I've made along the way and the people that I've had the opportunity to spend time with. It will go down in history for me. Thank you to everyone who was there to share it with us.

Up next: Jogging after drinking....not so much.

Bahahahaha. Yup, those leggings can definitely incite some thought. :lmao:

I thought the pins were pretty cool. I had a hard time picking, because there was no way I could get all of them.

That cat was the only way I could describe the situation. It was pretty funny.

He was definitely keeping a good attitude. He was pretty awesome. I wanted to take him with me.

I love those leggings! Please tell me there is a pic of you in them sometime in this TR!

Ugh, I wish I would have known about SWW when I was actually there in 2008 :furious: I wasn't a DIS'er and had no clue about anything. We had walked into DHS and saw stormtroopers on top of the turnstiles and was like, "Cool! " Not knowing this wasn't an everyday thing:sad2: The things I could have seen...the things I could have bought!!!

Great score on TSMM! DH and I are always in competition on this ride. And just FYI, i'm slightly better than him:hyper:

I think Jellyrolls would be so fun to do one night! What a perfect idea for all you DIS'ers to do.

Can't wait to read the next update!

sounds like such a fun evening! Glad it all worked out and that you had a great time

Next time we get to have "date night" at WDW we are definitely going to have to hit Jelly Rolls up

Fun update!

Love all the Star Wars merchandise and what a great CM you had! :thumbsup2

Um, epic DISmeet - Landon and Yeti?!?! Wow! :lmao: Those guys are clearly two of the DIS TR board's biggest celebs!

We have never made it to Jellyrolls, but sounds like a lot of fun! Great idea for a DIS get-together.

I have to agree - it is pretty awesome the friends you can make in this place. :thumbsup2

That Duffy Bear is amazing! They didn't have Darth's Mall the last time I was able to go to SWW (2005, the year of the Darth Mickey plush that wasn't supposed to be made), but it looks like a much better place for the extra merch instead of trying to shove everything into Tatooine Traders like before.

I can't wait to see more of your updates from SWW! After having Ian's birthday party be Star Wars themed this year, I admit that I'm a little bit more obsessed than usual.
