They Call Me MISTER PIG- He Said, She Said (9/1 Lights, Thunder, Fantasmic? Page 47)

Hi Becca! :) So sorry to hear that you are still not well yet! :sad1: Hopefully those nasty shingles will take their leave of you soon! Nice that you have a new camera though! How "thoughtful" of He to let you pick out such a wonderful present! Hope things are continuing to improve on the home front! BTW, your little boy is just adorable! What a cutie!

Sweet! The camera takes great pictures. The kids look so cute! I love how Cat poses when she knows the camera is on her! :rotfl2:

Sorry about your shingles  , I have never even had chicken pox but have been vaccinated for them. Coll that you got a new camera that is the least HE could do. Hope you feel better soon :goodvibes .

I totally agree it was the least He could do. ;) My son had two of the three vaccines (he was about to get the third) but has come down with them. He was fussing today and I found a few on his back and legs. Poor little guy.:sad2:

Glad to see you back and posting some. I know how tough it is being stuck inside. I can't even imagine how horrible the dreaded shingles are! It's good to see some happy, smiling pictures of the family though...thanks for sharing them! Keep us updated on how things are going! :goodvibes

Oh you are welcome. The baby caught chicken pox so I guess I will be house bond with him for awhile still. I hate being sick at this time of year. There is so much to do and get ready for.

So sorry your sick. But it looks like family things are a little better!

They are. He is going to therapy and Cat is thrilled to death to be back at dance and is all excited for school to start on Monday.

LOL about the thoughtful. He asked how many presents it would take for me to never mention it again. I told him more than he could afford ;) We are working on us, its tough when I am sick like this to really feel romantic but we are making sure to be as kind as possible to each other. And thanks about James. He is such a trouble maker lately. He is climbing everything!

Becca, feel better soon!!!

I love the pictures from the new camera!

Aww. Thank You!

Sweet! The camera takes great pictures. The kids look so cute! I love how Cat poses when she knows the camera is on her! :rotfl2:

It really does take amazing pictures and is so easy to use. I have been messing around with it non stop. Cat has to pose when she sees a camera. Makes getting those candid shots a bit of a mission impossible. I always feel like I need theme music and to dress in all black whenever I am trying to.

Oooh, Becca!! Your camera takes some great pictures!!:thumbsup2

You know, I think it is almost better that the baby gets them, better than worrying about getting them as an adult!

Thats true, especially with the vaccine being so new. I keep wondering if it wears off (like most vaccines tend to do) as you get older, adults get hit twice as hard with chicken pox than children do.

I'm happy to read that things are going better at home. Love all the pics with the new camera-both your kids are completely adorable.

I also love your new siggy pics!

Awww I'm so sorry for your DS  It is better in the long run, as you know of course, that he gets them now. Poor little man.

The last statement made me crack up! 007 Becca!

And ya know we all have rollercoaster bumps in marriages! Sounds like you guys are on the right track now though. (did not mean to keep going with that analogy:lmao: ) Best wishes to you both. The new sig pictures are gorgeous.

I like your new signature pictures.

Thank You! :goodvibes

Thanks! I am hoping things will all work out with He. I love him and I know he loves me, its just a rough time and I hope in a few years I will look back and laugh about it.

Yea! Someone finds me amusing! :cool1:

I know its better that the baby gets them now but he is so sad. He kept scratching so now he is wearing mittens. Poor kid. He does not like his mean mommy. Is it wrong that I feel sorry for him but I am looking forward to embarrasing him with pictures of it when he is 14?

LOVE those new siggie pics. Beautiful!

Thank you. I needed something new for a change.

 your new signature pics! They are precious and VERY sweet! :thumbsup2

Aww thanks! I love doing Icon art and this is the first time I have done it with pictures of my family.

Lights, Thunder, Fantasmic?

She Said – Where we last left off I had just seen (or slept through) Lights, Motor, Action. I was hot. Lights, Motor, Action does have some fans and some shade but not enough to combat any real heat. I was also tired though that should have been obvious - I normally don’t doze off in the middle of a show otherwise. So there was only one real move to make - back to Pop.

As soon as we got off the bus Cat wanted to hit the pool. I apparently was one of those people that underestimated how much swimming time to budget in. To be fair we have a community pool but I understand that ours is not shaped like a giant hippie flower with flower sprinklers. So I should have seen this coming. Granted I was tired but it was our last full day so I said what the heck. See me? I am so nice! Actually I was being ganged up on by He as well so it wasn’t like I had a choice.

He Said – That’s right! You can’t argue with a whiny kid and a big baby!

She Said - We swam for about an hour and I grabbed us some grapes and a slice of tie-dyed cheesecake. I love all the snack credits on the DxDDP. Then we went back to the room and showered. I started to pack us up, well as much as I could stand to do. It’s so sad to think we had to say goodbye to Disney soon. Tear. Then I made a decision. Everyone was going to take a nap. I am looking at He here. We had to see Fantasmic later and so naps would be needed. I closed my eyes with the Cat and yup, He did not.

He Said – I don’t nap often. I plan on being a very sleepy, grumpy, stinky old man. And I plan on wearing a disgustingly revealing robe, and yelling at kids of get off my lawn while wearing said ugly robe.

She Said - By 4:00 we were back up and headed over to DHS. There were already some dark clouds rolling in and at the bus stop people came pouring off with dripping ponchos. Apparently we had just missed the monsoon. Good for us, not so easy finding a not wet seat on the bus though. Ick! I was starting to get nervous as we approached DHS, the wind had picked up and there were flashes of lightning. Oh well. We had an ADR to get to, a package ADR to be precise.

I had scoped out Mama Melrose earlier in the day. It is kinda hidden by Muppet Vision 3D and with DHS confusing layout a bit hard to locate. Still we checked in and were seated within minutes. Now let me start by saying Mama Melrose was not my first choice in restaurants, I didn’t want to use 2TS credits at The Brown Derby and I had heard horrible things about Hollywood & Vine, actually I had heard bad things about Mama Melrose too, but the H&V stories would curl your toes.

He Said – You know… I think I’m going to start calling my time in the bathroom my “Time at The Brown Derby!” Which one will go away first?

She Said - So I went in there with rather low expectations. It was cute inside, themed like an Italian Pizzeria. It wasn’t fabulously themed, or Disneyfied and it reminded me a lot of a dark Olive Garden but it was still cute with lots of grapes hanging everywhere. In fact that was the only really thing that stood out, all those hanging grapes.

He Said - This would have been the perfect time for Disney to make my dreams come true with an expansive and delicious pizza buffet. My dreams did not come true.

She Said - Our waiter was very charismatic. I wish I could remember his name. When He and I were discussing him the only word that worked was charismatic or perhaps charming (oh and not that He needs to know this but, ladies, he was very, very good looking. Charming and good looking. Drool.) We told him we were on the package and he was great at explaining how it worked; basically you pick an appetizer, entrée, dessert, and then are given a card to take to a special entrance. Pretty simple. Since we were on the DxDDP this was a great way to use a credit and makes even more sense on the DDP since you get an appetizer this way, however I noticed a family by us who were doing the OOP and later I felt really bad for them…

Man. Foreshadowing Already?! And so bluntly? And then pointing out said foreshadowing! Crazy!

He Said – That guy was cool. And much more attractive than me. Sigh. Would’ve been a great time to be gay!

She Said - The one constant complaint about Mama Melrose is the lack of bread free with the meal. A real Italian restaurant provides bread (and olive oil) before drinks are even served. Mama Melrose does no such thing instead offering an appetizer called Artisan Bread and Spreads, which I forced He to order so I could have a few pieces while still enjoying my Caesar salad. Yeah I’m a poacher.

For our main meal I ordered the Pork Marsala, which was good but a little rich and I only got half way through it. Cat had the penne pasta with just butter and ate every bite. He had the four cheese flatbread. He let me have a tiny, tiny, tiny bite and it was so good. I was rather jealous of him for the reminder of the meal. For dessert I had the warm chocolate cake. Mmm. Heaven!

He Said – Sad times when you can’t go into a restaurant and get good ole pizza. That flatbread was good though! Orange Soda 71/75! It’s almost over!

She Said - When our very charismatic waiter came with the check they had taken one too many credits off (four instead of three) maybe a ghoul had followed us home and now we had to feed him. It took a bit to sort out but eventually they said they had made it two credits off (instead of three) for some reason apparently the system did not like our party size. So we ended up with an extra credit.

We headed outside and it had obviously been pouring. Apparently we had been dodging rainstorms left and right. Way to go us! I took one of my FP from earlier (obviously expired) and went for one last ride on Rockin Rollercoaster. I had noticed that the FP line was insanely long and after ten minutes of not budging an inch I jumped the barrier and headed into the single rider line. For some reason our line moved right away and as I entered the building I saw why. The cast member was not letting the fastpass line move at all. Maybe he thought is was the slow pass line or something. Luckily I was on the ride in no time being a single rider. After riding I picked up some stuff for my mom, who is a giant Aerosmith fan.

He Said – Note the vagueness with which she says giant Aerosmith fan. Does that mean her mom is obese and likes Aerosmith, likes giant Aerosmith as opposed to regular type, or just likes Aerosmith more than a normal person?

She Said - We browsed some more shops and then took our ticket to the fill up station toward the front of the park. This is where they let the people with the Fantasmic Package enter. We headed up the walk to a nearly empty stadium and took our seats. The Fantasmic seats are towards the right but since we sat next to the rope we were practically centered. Perfect seats. Really. I should have known that wouldn’t have lasted.

He Said – Perfect seats. In the rain. In the lightning. And soon enough, perfect seats on the bus.

She Said- I bullied everyone into looking stupid and donning ponchos which was good because it started to rain, nothing hard but the clouds were very dark and there was a ton of lightning. They had an announcement that said the show might be delayed or cancelled but basically to give up your seats at your own peril. The stadium was really filling up too. So we toughed it up. About twenty minutes before the show the announcement changed. They told us the show was being cancelled (or delayed) and to please exit the stadium. The lightning was flashing everywhere and the rain had picked up. We ushered under the cover of a nearby bathroom hoping for a miracle. We stood with the masses there for a good ten minutes before the storm got very scary and the CM were ushering everyone out of the area and telling people to take shelter (which struck me as ironic because we were sheltered). We ran down the hill and fought the crowd that was waiting at the rope (apparently hoping for a miracle too). The CMs were telling everyone to please take shelter immediately. But no one was budging making it hard to move.

I did feel bad for the family who had paid for the package OOP. They pretty much over paid for seats to a show that was cancelled. That’s why I advocate the Fantasmic Dining Package mostly for those on the DDP.

We made our way to a store. The cast member there told us that they would allow the Fantasmic Package people to use their tickets for reserved seating for the later show if the first one was cancelled. We thought about trying to stay but decided against it. Frankly there were a few too many people smelling like wet dog outside. Say it with me folks “Sure! Unsure. Sure!” or Degree or Secret (strong enough for a woman) or any catchy deodorant jingle you want. Now please buy and apply liberally.

He Said – I wear Axe myself. I’ve never been attacked by women, trying to force themselves on me because I’m so hawt and wearing Axe. My armpits are disappointed, and I am too.

She Said - So while trying not to publicly hold our noses, instead going for the nose twitch and constant need to move to close to the merchandise so we wouldn’t be near the dog people, we decided not to stay. We had a long drive home the next day. We did however pick up matching outfits for Cat and the Baby, a red Minnie dress for her and a red Mickey romper for him. Actually He picked out the outfits. Yes. My husband did the Disney shopping better than I did. So sad.

He Said – I picked out the best stuff! I’m a better shopper! I uhh… nevermind.

She Said - We made our way out of the park and under the small bus shelter right before the sky opened up. Buckets and buckets of rain poured down, actually buckets are too small- it was more like barrels and barrels of rain. There was no one waiting for the Pop bus so we stayed huddled under the small roof. And can someone tell me why DHS has such small bus stops with hardly any rain proofing? Why?

We dragged our soggy buts on the bus and back off at Pop. We stopped at the gift shop to let Cat buy a shirt she had seen earlier (with her own hard earned Disney dollars) and then I headed over to the front desk. Our dining credits had been off and it turned out Ohana had charged our lost credit card instead of our KTTW. The front desk at Pop said I would need to head over to Ohana to fix it. Annoying but we would be able to fit it in.

As we finally walked towards our room the rain stopped. It was still lightning heavily though. Cat saw the kids in the pool and decided if they could be a lightning rod she could too. And then came the whining. But luckily just as the whining was getting close to boiling point, where I boil over and start screaming hot things like Scalding Soup! Fire Sauce! Hot Tamale! the lifeguards shut down the pool. The weather was just too bad. Which meant no more whining - Cat will never argue with an adult that isn’t related to her. She is all sweetness and sugar to them it is only at home that she shakes the sugar coating off and we curl up our faces at her sour inners (and this whole analogy is making me crave Sour Patch Kids).

He Said – She still won’t let me bring home a stick with which I can make the children listen.

She Said - After showering I finished the sad task of packing up. We needed to be up and at ‘em bright and early. I have quite a bit squeezed in for our last day (even if most of that day would be taken up with a long drive back to NC) and I could not have anyone sleeping in. We had one last day to soak up all the pixie dust we could and an 8 am ADR to make.

He Said – I wasn’t the keeper of schedules or time, but I faintly remember something not being at 8am. This faint memory wasn’t enough to keep me in bed.
