They Call Me MISTER PIG- He Said, She Said (9/1 Lights, Thunder, Fantasmic? Page 47)

Great update!! Cannot wait to get DD to try Beverly...she probably won't talk to me for days!

Love the pic in your sig, is that new or am i just not very observant??

Great update! And, you are not too old for pigtails. But I will agree that the WS is much tolerable when you are somewhere between tipsy and smashed.

Great installment, Becca!:thumbsup2 They never fail to make me laugh!

First of all - you are never too old to wear pigtails in WDW! They looked cute!

Happy to hear you like the Nemo show. We missed it in Nov.; my DD and I will be there in 11 days and it's definitely on our list. (although I must admit we're both a bit peeved they took away Tarzan Rocks! Talk about eye candy - Tarzan! )

He's opinion of Beverly - hysterical. Can't believe you didn't partake of some alcoholic beverages from around the world, though. Hope you got a chance later.

Thanks! The Nemo show is worth seeing. We lined up 40 mins before showtime and got great seats. It was our longest wait of the whole trip but still very good.

I was having such a hardtime not giving myself away about what I knew about the Beverly. Luckily He was happy with his other drinks or he might have killed me. ;)

I have this wierd hang up about drinking in front of Cat. We rarely ever drink and even rarer in front of her and then it HAS to be at a meal or a special event. I want to make sure she grows up understand as an adult its okay to have a drink now and then but not all the time and under the right circumstances. ::yes:: Still the WS would have been better with a drink. :(

Great update! I miss tailspin too:) I agree that Nemo is a great show and my dh would definately agree about Beverly :lmao: I'm looking forward to more.

Wasn't Tailspin so very cool? :cool1: Poor He is still upset that I didn't warn him... like I knew what it would taste like :rolleyes1

:rotfl2: He's Club Cool experience is hilarious!!! On our November '07 trip, I was STILL traumatized by the Italy Beverly experience I had in April '06 - the memory was so fresh that I refused to drink ANY of them just out of fear that they may have gotten the hoses switched up and I might mistakingly get that one again!!! :lmao: Too funny!

Looking forward to your review of Coral Reef - we're eating lunch there on our departure day this trip. :surfweb:

Hoses switched up? You are going to make me paranoid! :worried: I didn't try it... I probably should have after making He have some but I was too chicken.

GREAT installment! I just happened to fall on your TR by accident :)

I never hang out at the TR board as it reminds me how much of mine I have left to do

I love, love your TR and I think your family is so cute!!

:welcome: Welcome! and Thank you! He read that over my shoulder and announced that another Dis'er thinks He is cute... he didn't read the family part. ;)

-Becca-

OK, I'm only on page 13, just finished reading about the P&PP but I'm loving your TR! Thanx camster0307 for referring me!

I can honestly say that I cried when I read about your The Cat opening ToonTown - how magical that must have been! Having just come back from WDW last month, and anxiously awaiting our next trip (we're new Florida residents and just scored on APs while we were there! :cool1: ) it's so much fun to read about other's adventures! And you and He sound just like my DH and me (he gets slapped a lot too!). We had friends who used to call us Paul and Jamie (remember Mad About You?) because of the way we jab back and forth!

Keep it coming! OK, now back to catch up!

HELLOOOOO! Great update guys:thumbsup2 Loved He's Beverly face! I can't wait to pull that little trick on my hubby! Although, he has such an exotic palette, he will probably be the weirdo who actually enjoys it! Glad you are feeling better, hope your foot is allright, too! Can't wait to hear about Coral Reef - I'm considering that place for our trip! :)

Great update! I too enjoyed tailspin.

Thanks! :goodvibes Tailspin rocked. I remember loving that show and Rescue Rangers.

Great update!! Cannot wait to get DD to try Beverly...she probably won't talk to me for days!

Love the pic in your sig, is that new or am i just not very observant??

Thanks! The picture is the annoyingly cute family pic show on the first page, I just cropped it and added it to my siggie. You DD might be like He were the rest of the trip he didn't trust me. :rotfl: Oh well totally worth it for that picture!

Great update! And, you are not too old for pigtails. But I will agree that the WS is much tolerable when you are somewhere between tipsy and smashed.

I promise I don't wear pigtails in day to day life, but Disney is special. I feel like a kid so I can look like one too, right? The next time we do the WS it will be at night and with a drink in each hand. ;)

loving your reporting!! Beautiful family!

Aww! Thank You! :)

I think I will try to convince my dh that the Beverly is the best of all of the sodas. Of course, his friend, who has researched almost as much as I have, will know the truth. Maybe I can convince the df that he is wrong and get them both to drink it. . .

Welcome! I loved Mad About You... I doubt He has even seen it. That man is woefully behind in Pop Culture. :( Cat opening Toontown was so great because she still talks about it (all the time ;) ). I loved how she understood it was special and was so thankful about it. Mad me all proud of her :lovestruc

:rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao: The Beverly!!!!!

I know! That face is priceless! :rotfl:

Oh very sneaky! Maybe his friend will play along. I am sure half of our friends would have. Cruel bunch aren't they ;) ? I Hope he tries it and you have your camera ready. The pictures are so funny.

Fish Are Friends, Not Food!

She Said - When we last left you He was trying in vain to wash the Beverly from his mouth. I was trying not to laugh too much, He was not nearly as amused as I was. And we were heading for our late lunch ADR- The Coral Reef.

The Coral Reef is something I remember from my childhood. I remember Epcot day meant that we would be eating at the Coral Reef. I loved it. It was so beautiful and wonderful that I just knew we had to go on this trip. It was tradition! I had to find a way to squeeze in the ADR but I managed to snag a 2:30 for lunch. Wonderful, I thought. I thought wrong.

We arrived two minutes late. Only time it ever happened. The waiting area was packed. People were sitting on the floor. We checked in and were given our pager. The Coral Reef is beautiful, heck even the waiting area is amazing. What was not amazing was a 30 minute wait where people who came in behind us (with the same party size!) kept getting seated before us. I finally made He go ask what was going on, then we waited another 10 minutes and were finally seated. 40 minutes for a table. With an ADR. Grumble, Grumble.

We were seated on the lower level in a rounded booth that looked at the tank. It was a nice view, but I tend to think most of the tables have rather decent views. Again I was struck by how pretty it all was. Our waitress came and took our drink order.

He Said – This meal brings our orange soda count to something like 55/75. This might be some TMI, but at this point my pee was orange colored and carbonated. Burns on the way out… I know! TMI!

She Said – Then came the business of ordering. I love seafood. I really do. But I can’t eat fish in front of fish! That would be like eating a steak in front of a cow. Just not good voodoo. This has caused some problems before, like I can’t order lobster tail at Red Lobster. I have already seen them in the tank, they weren’t hurting anyone and now you want me to go and sentence one to death. That one looked at me funny! Off with his tail!

I did however get the Lobster Bisque so that probably makes me a hypocrite. He got the Sea and Land. And for once I got a picture!

day6o.jpg

She Said - The soup was good. Not great. But good. I think He liked his food. We were trying to get our waitress to pay attention and it was distracting. We would ask for something. And she would show up 10 minutes later to ask us how everything was, completely forgetting that we had requested something. It went on and on and on. It was very annoying. Oh well we had steaks coming - and look another picture!

day6p.jpg

He Said – She does not remember correctly. My appetizer was not appetizing. A tip for your average guy: get the server to describe what you’re getting as best they can. There aren’t exactly a lot of picture menus. They are also extremely lacking with description (most are inaccurate anyway.) Anyway, I had mixed luck with appetizers at Disney. At least the Deluxe Dining Plan made so I wasn’t bitter about anything. Except the taste of Beverly. It stuck around even after this meal, just so you know. Just as another bit of info, out of pocket this meal would have run us 105 dollars (I love the Dining Plan!) The food was on par with Longhorn Steakhouse. I think 75% of that cost is for setting alone, which was, in a word, awesome. The steak was okay at best. That was after the A1, which took us 2 tries with our server, Miss Dory (nothing in her noggin!) At least she was nice.

She Said – My Steak was fair at best. In fact if I would have been given it at Longhorn or Outback I would have sent it back. It didn’t have an ounce of flavor. The best part was the Chocolate Wave for dessert. Very, very yummy.

From there we took the monorail over to the Poly. The Cat was ready to pop out of her skin. All day long she kept asking how much longer until Neverland Club. ALL DAY LONG! It was starting to get annoying. Luckily we didn’t have much longer. We dropped her off at 5pm and filled out the necessary paper work and hightailed it to DHS.

I always loved MGM growing up. I love the whole Old Hollywood feel about it, but a lot of people on Dis were mentioning how it was only a half day park. So I had decided that since it had been so long ago I must not have realized how little there was to do there. I should have stuck with my first instinct. I don’t understand how this can be a half day park. Even a full day isn’t long enough to see all of the shows. I really wished I had planned more time for us there.

Anyway we were in good spirits as we entered. There were crowds lining the sidewalks watching little shows being put on by the Streetsmosphere Characters. Which is probably how we lucked out. We grabbed a set of FP for ToT but decided the post 30 minute wait time wasn’t bad at all. Except it wasn’t 30 minute. We walked straight into the Library and waited about 10 minutes in the broiler room.

He Said – Broiling happens in an oven, to happy little friendly fish. Anyways, we were on fire with our luck, cause our raid of DHS was awesome! Tower of Terror was in-freaking-credible. The atmosphere was top notch. Every piece of scenery was expertly themed, and the CMs were in perfect (though creepy) form. The ride itself gives an amusement park junkie the necessary high, though the high comes from falling. The ride pulls you down faster than you would normally fall, so you’re literally floating during the drops. It’s intense, but not at all uncomfortable or sickening. I absolutely loved it. Remember to scream out of the openings! (and stay clear of the doors)

She Said – The last time I went to MGM I was 14 and I was too scared to ride Tower of Terror. Big mistake. I loved it. So much fun and I love the random settings. I grew up near Cedar Point, so I did Power Tower all the time which I believe is higher and faster but Tower of Terror is more enjoyable and has such a great vibe to it. It was a big favorite. In fact we immediately went on it again with no wait.

He said - Freakin awesome!

She Said - From there we decided to hit Rockin Rollercoaster. The Fastpasses were long gone and the 80 minute wait time was no good at all. We tried to go back to ToT but our luck had ran out and there was a visible 45 minute wait. So Star Tours was next.

He Said – It may have seemed like a patch of bad luck, but not so! Star Tours was very well decorated, and gave off tons of Star Wars nostalgia. I especially liked the droid disassembly factory. The ride is fun, a little jerky, and worth waiting up to 20 to 30 minutes for. We waited 5. Glee!

She Said – I loved this ride as a kid. I had thought before riding that The Cat would handle it just fine. Riding it again changed my mind. I could picture her getting sick so I was glad that He and I were able to ride it before hand.

He Said – We rocked our way back to Rockin Roller Coaster, though upon exiting Star Tours the ground got wet. Either a lot of children decided to let loose their bladder cannons, or we dodged a quick shower. We made a similar performance over at RRC, for once we got under the sheltered wait area, the rain decided to pour down. A group of band kids decided to happily sing through it. Unfortunately, wet T-shirt contests don’t go nearly as well with warm rain. Anyway, we had hopped into the single rider line because the regular line was stupidly long (60+ min). It was a solid 30 minute wait, which was the longest we waited for any ride on our trip. The only longer waits were for shows and food. What luck!

She Said – I love coasters. (Actually I am coaster addict. “Hello, I am Becca, and I have a coaster problem.” “Hi, Becca!”) I also love Aerosmith. Steven Tyler is a god. So it goes without saying I loved RRC. With a little luck we ended up in the same Limo (not sitting together but who cares?) And I was sitting next to a sweet kid who was very happy to talk it up in the ten seconds we had before it started. And start it did. Launch rides tend to make me feel butterflies like no other rides can, this one gave me that feeling without feeling sick. I loved the ride, the theming and the synced music made it so nice. It felt like something Island of Adventures would have only done better. Disney needs to invest in more rides like this.

He Said – This ride totally kicked butt. It was a true coaster. The initial acceleration was incredible, and again my addiction was satiated (SAT word!) The turns were smooth but pulled at least a few G’s. Going upside down is always a perk, and the slight disorientation only made the ride better. I would have happily waitied an additional 30 minutes to ride it. If you’re a coaster junkie, there’s isn’t exactly a ton of stuff at Disney to feed on, but this does a great job.

We ventured back to Tower of Terror, brandishing our +1 to line skipping Fastpasses. Our vacation was made by those things. We had another awesome ride (the randomness of this attraction definitely rocks) and found ourselves exiting the twilight zone quite famished. It was off to the Sci-Fi Dine-in for a backseat view of a 50s style drive-in theater, minus the making out.

She Said – Our ADR wasn’t until 9:30 and it was only a little after 8:00 but we decided to at least try. I saw a wait and figured no way. Actually they said no problem. We (being a party of two) were hitchhikers in the back row of a car. That was fine. The family in front of us was a little sullen but we generally don’t let others ruin our mood.

Our Waitress totld us without prompting that we could get a burger if we wanted (even though it wasn’t on the dinner menu) I wish I had. My steak thing wasn’t good. But it came with green beans and I love veggies. I also had Spinach dip and a sundae so I was happy and all set. The setting for Sci Fi is the whole reason to go IMO. Cat tends to get nightmares easily so I was nervous about the clips frightening her, they aren’t scary at all but I know my kid. She gets frightened about flea commercials and we don’t even have any pets. Anyway it was good to have a fun meal just the two of us.

day6q.jpg

He Said - I genuinely enjoyed the Sci-Fi Dine-in. The setting was wonderful, and its off-beat nature gave the place true originality. I would put it on my must visit list for a return to Disney. The food was very good, good ole American hamburgers and shakes, but most appealing were the ridiculously funny clips being played on the big screen. I laughed my tail off by that guy getting speared by a giant. The clips repeat after about 30 minutes, but they’re so weird and hilarious that it doesn’t get old. I think I drank root beer, which was my beverage of choice when I wasn’t feeling like orange soda. Alone I probably drank a world record’s worth of root beer. I also have a world record for belching. Or at least I should…

She Said- We weren’t tired but just worn down. So we hopped a bus back to Pop. It was upon our return to our hotel room for what was supposed to be fun adult time that He was instead slammed by the baby blues.

He Said – I missed the baby! I missed, oddly enough: work, routines, relaxing on my couch, playing video games, and lots of other stuff that people go on vacation to get away from. I was Disney’d out, officially. It had been over 4 years since I was on a vacation that lasted more than a week, and this one was really starting to get to me. I felt like I had seen everything I wanted to see, and it was time to get home so I could relax from my vacation. She did not agree. I ruined fun times. I ruined adult fun times. I was a party pooper. Next time we’ll have the baby though! (but he won’t be a baby anymore… *sniffles*)

She Said – He was ready to pack us up and go home. He was Disney done. He wanted his son. I missed the Baby too and had been in constant contact with my mom about him. But even with missing the baby I was not ready to cut my trip short. I knew how long I would have to wait for a follow up trip, and here he is all ready to go? I don’t think so.

There were a few cross words (no raised voices though! We are nice neighbors.) And I cried at one point, telling him about all the work and planning, and all the stuff that us Disers put into our vacations. He tried to go along with everything for the rest of the trip but it was clear that his heart wasn’t in it. He wanted home and He wanted it now.

We got over it in time to pick up The Cat. We drove straight to the Poly and picked her up a little after 11. She was awake this time which made it easier. They made a big deal about her not eating anything. According to Cat, she wasn’t hungry, which made sense with the late lunch at the Coral Reef. We were able to be asleep before 12 and that was good since we had a busy day at DHS up next.

Hello He and She. I want you both to know that I love your writing styles and have laughed a lot. Read your entire TR last night and this morning.

It is your fault I fell asleep in the family room on the couch without a blanket and woke up with a sore neck. And it is your fault I'm getting into the shower 20 minutes late.

Lovin it! :thumbsup2

Hi guys!
Just wanted to let you know how much I am enjoying your trip report! I love the He said/She said style, and I LOVE the D&D references. :lmao: "+1 to line-skipping fastpases"! :lmao: Ah, the evenings I spent in my before-3-kids-days; late nights, too much Dr. Pepper, Dorito crumbs on my clerical spellbook, stepping on a 4-sided die in the middle of the night - OW. ::yes:: D&D always colors your perception of things in real life... I remember watching LOTR with my hubby (maybe 2 Towers) where Legolas slides down something quite acrobatically, on a shield... DH and I both looked at eachother and yelled out "Dex check!" Everyone else in the room thought we had gone mad.

Sorry that He got Disney-ed out, I know that happenes sometimes, it has just never happened to ME! But then again, I could happily live there...
Anyhow, keep up the great work!

No, it can't be almost over. I guess you need to start planning your next trip and writing a pre trip report.

I know! We only have three more to post. When I told He, he laughed and siad that means I can't be on Disboards any longer :scared1: I told him, that meant we just needed to plan another trip ;) I don't think He agrees.
