They Almost Went Without ME-Food & Wine, BC, LOTS of Pics-Updated 10/28

Only one thing you liked about BC?? Yes I love it when the room is ready!!

Yep, only one thing. I truly wasn't a fan when we stayed there in June. But that is okay because that's why there is such a nice selection of resorts...something for everyone.

A Mickey head towel is always a nice welcome in the room! :)

That tee shirt is so perfect! Don't you just love the 8 minute walk to the first Food and Wine booth? :thumbsup2

I hope everything goes well with the new doctor.

Aww - the Beach Club! We finally made it over (walked from the BW) this trip, and what a beautiful place it is. Can't wait to hear about your time in Epcot!

Sorry I'm late! Thanks for the heads up on your TR.

Wow - I am glad everyone's health issues were cleared so you could all travel. And I hope you appointment with the specialist went well. It must be very difficult to be dealing with the ulcerative colitis. I know that is a difficult disease.

Beautiful pictures of your arrival. The sky is just such a gorgeous blue.

I bought that same F&W shirt for my DH. He will definitely be wearing it around the world next week.

I was wiped yesterday after going to Boston and then we came home, went to Walmart and then grocery shopping. I crashed on the couch for a couple hours.

My appointment in Boston went great. We decided that the sooner the better for surgery. Better to get it over with before I have another flare up. So the first of two surgeries will be Nov. 15th. I will be in the hospital for approx. 4days. I guess I will be making our ADR's from my hospital bed as my 180 days out is the 17th. The normal recovery time is around 6 weeks.

Then 2-3 months later I will go in for reconstruction. Only 2days in and a few weeks out of work.

I aske him if I could eat what I wanted when this is all over and he said yes!! Obviously I will not go crazy and eat all this food at once but it may be nice to have a little popcorn or corn on the cob (have not had in 10 years). Lots of other foods I have to stay away from right now also.

The doctor was very nice and I recorded the whole thing on my IPad. Funny story..I had the IPad on recording the conversation not knowing he was going to do a rectal exam....yeah I left the IPad running during that lovely exam. At least I did not get a visual!!

I will get an update done tomorrow as I will be at my Tax Collector conference from Mon-Wed.

Thank you Mary Ellen. I have been dealing with it for 10 years and not getting better but getting worse. I cannot keep doing this to my co workers, family and friends.

It was such a beautiful day when we arrived. DH also got the t shirt for this year also. I did not. I didn't really like the one they had for me.

Next week! How exciting!

Thanks for posting a pic of the ME area. Looks like it has changed again since I was last there. Is it still on the same end of the airport?

Ok. New computer table put together & now watching the Patriots. Since I will be away at a conference for the next 3 days I figured I would get an update done. So we left off that we had just entered Epcot & I was starving...

We decided to take a left & head towards the front of WS where we would be meeting up with my sister & brother in law. They were not there yet so we stopped here for food

We got the mushroom fillet & the rainbow trout. Both were good but the fillet was better!! It will not be the last time we get it...

Pic I took as I walked. Always snapping away..

Some Food & Wine merchandise..

The "ball"

Still waiting for my sister to arrive we shopped in the gift shop as you enter WS

Cute Christmas apron

Jeff got a beer here & I got an orange sparkling water. It was very hot on this day.

I don't know who these people are..I was getting the monorail :)

The cranberry bog

So we met up with my sister & brother in law & took a left into WS to the first booth-Terra. This is all Vegan-no REAL meat but it was very good. You would not know it was not real..

We tried both & split the chickn curry & chili colorado & both were very good.

Next up was Brazil. My Brother in law could not wait to try this. I really was not that interested in it but tried the scallops & they were very good!!

Sorry I must have been so hungry I did not get pics of the food. Next up was Argentina. I could not wait to have the Beef Empanada but the grilled Beef Skewer with Chimichurri Sauce was wonderful!!

That time I did get a pic.:)

Continued in Next Post...

Palm tree

China has my favorite drink-the Peach Snapp. My sister got one also

Beauty..

We stopped on a bench here & enjoyed our drink & took some photopass pics.

Then we headed into Germany & looked around..Keep in mind DH is a Grumpy fan

And a beer fan ;)

Walking around WS

My sister felt like having a piece of pizza & I was telling her how good the pizza was at Via Napoli. Well she got a piece from the take out booth. It STUNK!! I felt bad. It was nothing like the pizza inside. Oh well.

We decided to head back to the resorts & meet up later. So we went out through the IG & on the way out Pooh & Tigger were doing their thing.

As we walked back to BC

I just love that walk back..Well I am going to end it here for now.

What do we do later??

Where do we eat??

Great update, Doreen. I enjoyed my tour of WS with you. I so would have stopped for that soup in Canada. Your drink in Japan looks really yummy...I may have to try one of those in December.

Beautiful pictures walking back to the BC.

So my first comment is - $5.75 for the ice wine? Last year it was $5 and it was literally the size of a thimble. Tasty, but a total rip. I mean, I know it's expensive wine but please.

Love seeing the menus. So many choices, so little time! :rotfl2:

That peach schnapps drink does look really good.

Fun afternoon!

I have another story about the soup that I will get to later.:) You must try the drink in Japan. It is so good!!

Yeah most of the wine sizes are teeny tiny & NOT worth the $$$. I did more eating than drinking at the booths.

The sangria in Mexico is a full cup so that is a good buy.

Doreen, it is good to know that you have a surgery date and the hope that the last 10 years of health issues will be behind you. It is great to hear that you will be able to eat things that caused such problems before. All good news and I wish you all the best as you prepare for the next chapter in life. :goodvibes

As for your latest TR update... I love all the food and wine selections. I am partial to the Canadian choices but the empanadas from Argentina look particularly good.

Those Mickey plates as the F&W gift shop are adorable. It would probably cost a small fortune to purchase a 12 piece setting! :upsidedow

I am so ready for surgery. This last flare up was very scary. I lost 25 pounds and will be glad to get this behind me.

There are so many great booths and Canada is one of the best! The Empanadas were good too!

It is funny because I cleaned out my kitchen before this trip and needed new plates but yeah they were expensive and I knew I had $100.00 in Kohl's cash to use so no Mickey plate buying for me. They were very cute though :).

Kathy the drink is in China not Japan :).

Happiness. :cool1:
I hope December in Florida will be warmish this year. We have been when it has been really cold. I need to soak in enough warmth to bring home with me to last until April in Tennessee. :cool2:

We were talking to our cousins this past weekend about their Disney trip - they got back last Wednesday - and they were singing the praises of the 'Canada steak'.
