I followed directions to the T. prewashed, no softner the shirts, did the iron ons, they worked great, turned inside out, as teh directions said, washed in vinegar, and they all cracked. Im so sad. I think they wont be too noticable though, and I certainly still plan on using them. You guys rock!!!!!

It sounds like one of two things happened here. Most likely, you either didn't iron it long enough or on a hot enough temperature. The other possibility is that you had a hot peel transfer that you let cool too long. If it's the first one, you can probably still iron it again if you are careful to fuse it back together, especilliy if you still have the paper backing it started with. If you don't put some waxed paper or parchment paper on top before you iron.

If you are going to try to re-iron, use parchment paper - DO NOT use wax paper.

Also, it probably has more to do with the quality of the transfers than anything you did or did not do. With the many, many brands I have tried over the years - and doing them all exactly the same - I can tell you that there are some papers that are just very poor quality (to put it nicely). I have never done the vinegar wash. I just pre-wash the shirts and iron on. When I use cheaper transfer paper I know that I will not get alot of "washes" out of them and them still look good. Amy's transfer paper washes well and they still look good, but I don't do the vinegar wash with her's either and have never had my transfers run.

I always did the vinegar wash; had a couple crack (thank you Avery brand!). My hp brand transfers were fine. (I made more than 75 ts so I was cranking them out!)

I agree quality transfers are a must and the iron needs to be hot enough and on long enough!
