Thespians Unite

For all you International Thespian Society members, did you have Induction week? or is that just our school? Induction week (or as we like to call it, Hell Week) is the week where we will get inducted but to be inducted we have to do tasks for the presidency.

We don't have it for the Thespian Society we just have an initiation night for the musical. All the newbies get initiated my the experienced actors. They do weird things like singing in public, yoga in the grocery story, eating fast food outside health clubs, and stuff like that.

I've seen Hairspray in NYC on Broadway.:goodvibes

Tony's were last night! I agree, though, both the plays you mentioned looked good.

My dad went to see Scarlett Johannsons show "A View From The Bridge" and said it was just okay. It wasn't anything great.
A lot of the plays that were nominated closed. Also Ragtime, which sucks because it looked really good!

you've done honk too! cool! sry about bad memories...i have shows like that too.

my school musical last year was cursed! we did pirates of penzance.(stupid show for a junior high!) i was mable, and my two best friends where fredrick and the pirate king. so that automaticaly means trouble (in a good way!) but our pit had problems, costumes where dissapearing, props where placed on wrong tables etc... now me and the boy who played frederick(my bestie!) where the only expirianced actors outside of school. the others have done a lot in school but we've ventured out. the boy who played the major general messed up on his lines MAJORLY, we spent five minutes my bestie and i trying to get the show on track. one of the lines he missed segued into modern major general which is one of the familiar songs in this show. so we tried for 5 minutes throwing lines back and forth with each other in the dialect till we segued the song.
then, one of the stage hands left a strawberry frap from starbucks backstage. during my quick change in the wings i'd hand the dress to the prop mistress and change into my other dress which was handed to me by a techie (confusing for a costume change i know!) well the prop mistress was helping with the scrim change that she forgot o]about my change. so i'm handed the other dress and in hurry just throw my dress out of the way and hurry on stage. 2nd act i'm back in the first dress. i got to change into it and the entire butt of the dress was covered in strawberry frap. i had thrown the dress onto the starbucks cup! i had to adjust my whole blocking for the next few scenes so my butt in no way showed the stain!!!! and this all occured on opening night!

i'm excited. i just saw a commercial on nick at night about a new wii game called dance on broadway. it's like the game just dance but to show tunes. finally, a thespian video game.

i absolutely love the theater the only bad thing is i can't do any community theater cause i have to go to a different town and they only give parts to certain families so i stick to school theater and my favorite play we have done so far is cinderella where i played the evil step mother and no one thought i would be good at it but my teacher (in front of the whole class) said i was the best actress in the play it was embarrassing because i was made fun of for it

i was bullied for a few years for being the 'broadway girl', or thats what they called me. the bullying stopped when i was old enough for school shows. the way audtions worked unlike normally was u audtioned in front of every one (unusual for musicals) once i got on stage and belted let me entertain you (6th grade, i could pull off little girl songs!) they all respected me and no longer thought i was exagerating.

Ok wow. Not gonna lie, I was pretty sure I knew you for a second!! My school did this and everyone in the cast was pretty tight. (So the best friends thing was making sense!) But I couldn't remember character names so I went and looked up the characters and when I saw who Mabel was in the script I knew you weren't who I thought you were. But there was a Megan in our cast too, and you sort of sounded like her! Another clue I guess was the prop mistress thing and Starbucks. First, we don't call them that lol, and second, No food or drink is allowed backstage, not even water.

Wouldn't that have been weird though?

Actually, a local theatre here is doing Les Mis School Edition!

I tried out, and had a terrible auditions. Actually, I was going to sing another song, but my friend told me she was going to sing that song, and how excited she was, and really I'd rather keep a friend, no matter how much I wanted to be in Les Mis.

My really good friend got Epiponine, and she's friggin AMAZING!

I was thinking if I were lucky I could be her understudy...but ah well.

But I can't wait to see it, all my friends are in it, and the space is really small, so it's going to be so cool how it comes together.

eponine is my dream role(1 of 50,000)!!!!! what song did she sing and what song did u sing? my voice is perfect for on my own, and i'm always looking for new songs to sing!

Oh hey.. we're doing A Midsummer's Night Dream in the fall.. I have to go to a set design meeting on Wednesday, but we're going to talk about how it's going to be set in the 60's.

Beginning and end will be in black and white mod, but the forest and faeries will be hippie-styled.

Plus, Beatles music.

I'm excited.

I was doing a project on Macbeth, and I thought up a whole mod version of it, where instead of there being kings and queens and thanes and all that, they're mods in London in the 1960s. Oh, and it ended with a rumble (like in The Outsiders) instead of a battle.
Yeah, I'm weird.

I used my Disney knowledge a couple of times in the set design meeting today xD
We're probably going to use electric fire flies and I knew a website because of some POTC research I'd done before xD

She sang "A Change In Me" from BatB.

That's really cool! I'm doing that show for our fall play next year and our director is spending the entire summer trying to figure out how we are going to modernize it. Yours sounds really cool!

I even thought of a cast list for it... like, famous people from that time to play the parts.
